All the Hotel staff is very good, helpful and very humble, especially Mr. Ico is a fantastic person, helpful in guiding about the local areas and finding Indian restaurant and next travel was Tuttlingen where he took time and suggested some good hotels. Break fast is very good and location is quite good and centrally located and easy to accessible to main areas and shopping malls. and near by good Indian restaurant.

The positive reviews of this hotel are well deserved. During my stay, I paid special attention to the breakfast and the coziness of the hotel, which were completely satisfied. Additionally, the hotel cleanliness and friendliness of the staff were very good. I had the impression that the positive mood spread to all the guests. It was very nice!

The breakfast was good, though not containing various options! The location is very very close to the university Duisburg-Essen, so, for conferences at this university, it is very suitable.

The whole building is very old. The elevator is terribly old! The price that I paid was 200 Euros per night! and in fact I expected more with this huge price for a 3-star hotel.

Stay, breakfast, location and everything was good. Wind shut the door of the room when we were out and key inside room. Receptionist was kind and got another key in few mins.

Working hours receptionist would be great. As we didn't know the keys will be left in door for check in.

The staff was very friendly! My colleagues and I had to a video conference for work and the gentleman at the front desk allowed us to have our meeting in the dining and helped us combine two tables. He was extremely helpful and kind.

The price for the room was extremely high in my opinion. I was attending a conference in Essen and the large numbers of attendees likley was the reason for the high pricing.

Overall a fine hotel and value for money. Great service and friendly staff, nice and clean room with a really good bed, breakfast better than expected and definately worth the cost. Great with free parking. Would stay here again, but probably only on cooler days.

No aircondition in the room (only a small fan) which made the room really hot with an outdoor temperature around 35 degrees. No minibar/fridge.

At night, in the direct surroundings of the hotel a group of young men from non-European descent choose to harass women and elderly people and breaking stuff at their free will. This seemed completely ok as no police or security could bother to show up.

Namaste! The management went out of their way to help me out, including changing my room to another which I liked more (room nr. 36, the best!), allowing me a very early-check-in about 13:00, and offering me a breakfast plate although I was half an hour late after the closing time. Just a totally customer service-oriented place, the sort of thing that you never get these days at bigger hotels any more. As a frequent visitor to Dortmund/Essen, I can recommend this place very highly.

Atelier Hotel just opened a few weeks ago after a complete renovation. It was very "gemütlich" (pleasant, warm, friendly)! The hotel is located close to the Berliner Platz Station. There you will find the Limbecker Platz shopping center and a Covid Testing Center. This information becomes very valuable once you realize that you need to be tested to re-enter the US! Both the breakfast location and the food were great! The free breakfast buffet included scrambled eggs and bacon. They also served fresh breads and rolls, cold cuts, cheeses, fruit, quark, yogurt, honey, butter, and various jams. When Elke and Heike found out that I was gluten intolerant, they made every effort to make sure my rolls (fresh daily) were gluten-free (GF). They even served me GF muesli! I, personally, don't drink coffee, but Hotel Garni had a brand new Tschibo machine that made espressos, lattes, etc., plus hot water for tea. It even made two different kinds of hot chocolate! I speak German, so I *loved it* when people here spoke German with me and didn't try to switch over to English. One final thought on the advantages of this location. The Berliner Platz Station is on the U11 metro line (light rail). The last two stations on the U11 line are for the Messe Essen (exhibition center). The U11 also passes through the Essen Train Station (Hauptbahnhof). So if you are attending an event at the Messe Essen, like *Spiel*, you can just board at Berliner Platz Station when the train is almost empty and ride "non-stop" to the venue. When the train reaches the Essen Hauptbahnhof and there is a mad rush to board, you have already secured your seat!

Actually I do *not* think anything could have been better! However, this is a hotel garni, so do not expect a full restaurant, night receptionist, or concierge. However, it *is* clean, quiet, and comfortable -- all at a reasonable cost!

The breakfast was simple but adequate. The room was fine, and the area is quiet.

Coffee machine was broken on the day of my stay - no coffee for the breakfast. The shower is not well separated from the rest of the bathroom, and a big part of the floor becomes wet.
