The stay itself was good. The room and facilities are also good. The rooms towards the busy street side are also quiet Breakfast is a bit overpriced, but otherwise plenty of choice with enough space in the breakfast room. The value for money without breakfast included was good. The staff in general was friendly but with one exception. The location is okay and still in the centrum . Two stops by underground streetcar from Central Station Essen or a 20 min walk . Stop is beside Hotel

We arrived on Friday 19 November around 12 noon, the lady at the reception was not exactly friendly. Check-in is from 2 p.m. I know this when I booked so it is not a problem, so I just wanted to ask if we could leave our luggage there until then, whereupon I was abruptly interrupted... Check-in from... She didn't let me finish. So second try. Whereupon my attempt was finally approved with much reluctance. That was actually the only downside.

Great hotel, and the staff were superb. They accidentally brought be the wrong dinner first, but they were super thoughtful and kind, and I ended up trying 2 excellent dishes that way that night. They handled everything really well, and they were also so kind to offer me a late checkout at no extra charge. Thanks!

Everything was great, just in the breakfast there could be more (and faster) coffee machines. The one machine they have right now is a bit slow and noisy, and one has to wait quit a bit for such a coffee during peak breakfast hours. Otherwise, the quality of the food was really (!!) good!

The hotel is definitely a good choice for enjoying calm and modern equipped rooms. The bathroom is spacious enough, the room itself as well. We did not use other amenities other than the restaurant for dinner and breakfast, which has both been excellent. The car park is underneath and safe.

The room mini bar has been removed and replaced by snack and drinking automates. Make sure you have enough coins and they meet the purchase amount. no money back!

Conveniently located in the middle of the ruhr area. From parking lot to room very quick via lift. Great breakfast assortiment. Junior suite perfect for our family of 4 with 2 little children. Superb clean room. Very good price vs quality. Within walking distance of 4 to 10 min lots of restaurants. Fine english speaking staff.

Poverty very visible in the surroundings of the hotel.

The location was very nice! Bus stop in front of the hotel. The beds were good and big bathroom including a bath!

The rooms weren’t ready at 2 when we came. We had to wait for an hour before we could go in to our room. They didn’t let us know unfortunately even when they said they would tell us when they were ready. We checked ourselves. Got something to drink to compensate but only after asking 2 times.

Friendly staff, very large and quiet room, attention to detail and amenities, good bath products, great breakfast. Right across the street from concert podium Turock.

The beds are really too soft, but this didn't bother me for one night. As I read in previous reviews, I also had a problem with the card key not working and I had to return to the reception twice. Since this is recurring, they really need to fix it.

It's a very nice price for a very nice hotel. The location is directly at the town centre so you only have to cross the street. Beds are comfortable, staff is kind and the room +bedroom (although dated) clean. They have a late check out which is an added value

The walls are very thin, making it very noisy. The WiFi connection is a disaster. Very unstable and poor so i hope they will find a way to fix that

I stayed in the hotel several times and it's my favourite place in Essen now, the room is always clean, the reception is always open and ready to help and location is just perfect ( they even changed my room once just because i didn't like the view and they were so understanding about it) The room is always exactly as shown in the pictures

Expect to pay extra money if your having guests, i had to pay extra for having one guest.

Friendly accommodating staff, clean room, conveniently located for a stop on the road between Berlin and Holland, quick and easy to get to the centre with bars restaurants etc.

Breakfast and parking are overpriced. I suggest to take the 10 minute walk into the centre for breakfast. I would have looked for other parking space if I had known.

Nice and spacious, clean room, breakfast has a good variety of choices, good coffee. Nice location, walking distance to the city. Good parking place under the hotel.

No hot water kettle in the bedroom, had to boil with the coffee maker, which worked but was a bit slow. The bed was a bit soft.
