Location was great, the room and bathroom were clean and the breakfast was good.

Our room wasn’t soundproof so we could hear the next door guest talking on the phone.

A beautiful location and wonderful family-owned facility. The food for dinner and breakfast are wonderful and we have a special vegan, gluten free diet. The hotel and staff are very accommodating. Note: I would have rated a 10, but the first night was warm (no AC) and the bathroom was not ventilating as it should; however, the staff fixed the ventilation issues the following day. Even without any complaints on our part. Well done, Hotel Sonne!

Once again, we chose to stay at Hotel Sonne while in Rothenburg. Location is great, couldn't be any better! We were also provided a parking spot in the garage (located just ~50m from the hotel itself, which is understandable in a historical town centre. Parking is paid separately). The family apartment exceeded our expectations - it was much bigger than expected, 2 separate bedrooms, one small common room and a bathroom were great for 4 adults. Breakfast options were nice. I can recommend this hotel mostly because of its location and friendly staff. I will be staying at Hotel Sonne if I ever come to visit Rothenburg again.

Like others are saying in the comments, the interior isn't the most modern - but it was definitely all we needed for our short stay. The "breakfast room" (a room in the back of the hotel) was a bit gloomy and cold, it doesn't have natural light and the running portable A/Cs there were doing a disservice on a cold morning. I can imagine having breakfast in the front area - the restaurant part - could have been more enjoyable.

Hotel and location was amazing. We opted for a change of room at last minute because we could not carry luggage up flights of stairs. We were given rooms on first floor with no view. The restaurant was wonderful for breakfast. Staff were over the top friendly and handled all our needs. We will be back. And next time we will allow the Hotel to carry our bags up the stairs and be in a nicer room. Thank you......

The hotel was very cozy. It is a protected building. All details taken care of. Very nice restaurant. The triple room was big with great windows to the awesome street. The location could not be better. One block from the market plaza. The staff were very friendly and the check in and out was easy super easy and fast. Breakfast was awesome!!! I would recommend it. Definitely I would love to come back

Fantastic location which gives super easy walking access to the town which is amazing. Parking was available which was great as we had rental car. The breakfast was excellent and the restaurant was really good for dinner.

Minor complaints and somewhat nitpicking but no elevator so you must carry luggage up the stairs (we were on 2nd floor). Otherwise, honestly, it was a great place to stay as we recommend.

Very comfortable stay in Rothenburg. Location to the center is fantastic as it's just a short walk to the Rathaus/ zentrum. Quiet street. Hotel staff are exceptional, seem to truly care and are very helpful. Our room was comfortablly sized and very warm in December. Nice bathroom with excellent lighting and very comfortable beds & pillows. Breakfast was lovely with an array of options and fresh coffee made to order. We parked at Galgentor P4 outside the wall for only 5 Euro, an overnight visit of 24 hrs.

We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the hotel. The hotel was very clean and updated. Employees always greeted us and were friendly. Location is about a 1/2 block to the center market and a 15 min. easy walk from the train station. In the photos attached, the 1st two photos were taken from our room window, room 12. In the photos of the exterior, the window at the top of the building with the light on was our room.

There really wasn't anything that I didn't like. If I was "forced" to pick something, it would be the provided soap in the shower. The only other consideration would be the stairs to the rooms. The stairs are wide, carpeted and easy to use if you are in good condition physically. If you normally have issues with stairs, you might want to reconsider this town altogether as it is full of stairs, hills and cobblestone pavers. The hotel was great. I would highly recommend it.

Lovely hotel in the heart of the city and it was quiet. The staff are very friendly, kind and helpful we had an issue with our shower and it was resolved very quickly. Beds were comfortable and as we were facing the back wall, it meant the room was quiet and it was cool. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. Their restaurant looks very good and it was a shame we had already eaten before we arrived otherwise we would have eaten there.

This hotel is amazing. The owner (I think she was anyway - a blonde female) had the BEST customer service skills. Genuinely friendly and helpful. Gave me a cookie as a farewell gift. The hotel is in the heart of old town but 50m down a side street so you don’t get much noise. Hotel is very clean. Breakfast is delicious with lots of selection. Good wifi. What more could you want
