The location, room 101-102 are so good (Athenian). The staff is very kind and friendly. The room has everything you need.

The heating is not working when i set 30 degree and it was still around 23. The noises are coming from cleanin room close to room 102 when around 07:00

First of all, we booked a taxi through the hotel to pick us up from the airport. The driver (Dimitris) awaited us and told us a lot about Athens on our way to the hotel. It was all very well arranged! The location of this hotel is just perfect - right in the centre, but the rooms are surprisingly soundproof, we did not hear anything going on outside. I could not think of a better location to explore the city. The hotel is beautifully decorated, the staff is very friendly, and the breakfast that is being served in the restaurant on the ground floor is delicious - with very friendly staff as well. Also - I highly recommend to book a massage. There is a very small spa in the hotel with a steam bath, small pool and sauna. It's possible to book a massage there, and the masseuse (Lena) was so professional and kind - receiving a massage by her was a true delight after walking in the city all day. Overall, highly recommended!

The bathroom is built inside the room, not in a separate room. The "wall/door" is made of glass. Lying on the bed, you have a direct view on the person sitting on the toilet. There may be many couples that feel completely comfortable with this, for us it did not feel very private.

Perfectly central location for all the main attractions. Lovely traditional building beautifully renovated. Sound proofed rooms - so quiet. Lovely view of a church from our superior Athenian room no 201. Air conditioning. Nice breakfast even though the menu was limited and a cappuccino cost extra! Restaurant food was nice - only ate there once. Reception staff were extremely welcoming kind efficient and helpful - I rarely tip reception staff but did this time :). Room was kept beautifully clean and tidy. Unobtrusive excellent and smiley house keeping team. Nice very small and personal spa (one couple at a time). I basically have only praise for this hotel. Thank you 1890 :) x

I really enjoyed my stay in Athens 1890. The decoration of the room was very beautiful, especially I loved the details on the walls. Housekeepers and receptionists were very polite and professional. And also, I have to say that the restaurant on the entrance was perfect. In addition, the old documents in the corridors for decoration and the New Year's concept were enjoyable. Last but not least, the location was also perfect.

I think the sound isolation for inside of the hotel was weak. Sometimes the noise of people coming down the stairs and the slamming of the doors frightened me. But was not a big problem for me, because I loved the other things in the hotel :)

The location is perfect for visiting all attractions and very handy from the airport train. We had some unexpected sweet treats in the room on our return some days.

Although we stayed for 5 nights we only had access to the spa pool for one complimentary visit.

Weird reception setup - the reception is IN the adjacent restaurant but has nothing to do with the actual restaurant itself, which just seemed odd. Also, no real option for storing bags after checkout - I was advised that I could just leave my suitcase in front of reception (just essentially in the restaurant) and that it would be safe like that. Erm….no. Ended up heading back to my previous hotel who kindly stored my bag securely for the day despite me having checked out the day before.

The room was high ceiling with old decorations, nice shower with enough water pressure. The bed was comfortable. I chose this hotel because of the spa facility which was excellent quality with dry and steam sauna, pool with hydromassage, mist shower. The lights were very good and many options to highlight the beautiful ceiling in the room.

The spa time is too short only 30 minutes for hotel guests. We had it 8pm and wanted to continue another half an hour but we were told its closing so we got 15min. extra time. Additional cost is 30e/ 30min. Which is rather expensive. We said we could pay another 30e for that additional 30min. But it was not possible. We never knew about how late its open and forgot to ask. Could have been different pillows, also soft ones.

This hotel is really a gem. The location is perfect. in the middle of the city and close to everything and yet we could not hear a sound at night. The design of the hotel is great. The room we stayed was a perfect sized double room with a small balcony facing the street. It was very beautifully decorated; high ceilings with many details, beautiful colors and tasty furniture. Finally, the staff were all very nice and helpful. Especially Angel from the reception ☺️ I would definitely recommend this hotel and I am looking forward to staying here again.

The Classic Athenian Room was fantastic! It was extremely clean, the wooden floors and the stairs in the room we’re especially designed for comfortable stay! We loved it. The location is great! You can go walking to the acropolis and public transportation! The personnel at the help desk very very nice! We wanted to come back again after our day in one of the islands but there was no available rooms, well for a reason! We love it and would definitely be back!!!

We enjoyed our stay and loved the hot tub. Location was perfect!!!

Room was very tight, but we made due. Because we were on the top floor, the air conditioning never got below 75 degrees F which made it for a sweaty sleep. Signage outside is very poor - it took forever to find the place and the reception area is actually inside a restaurant. No one ever told us about a spa that they advertise.
