Pool with beautiful view of the Acropolis, connecting rooms as requested, very helpful staff, water and iced tea available throughout the day, comfortable lobby and good central location. Omonia metro stop close by.

We never felt unsafe, but one of our drivers told us there area was no longer 'great' so be aware.

Very modern and clean, very nice staff.

location a bit scary at night (many closed businesses, graffiti everywhere, long walk to the metro). Hotel felt very safe, though.

Thé hôtel is a city centre hôtel which I selected for its location. I walked to the attractions daily, it was @30 minutes. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was busy but it didn’t feel full. The room was kept very clean and the water and coffee replenished. The elevator came quickly and the check in and check out was efficient and fast. The pool area was very nice and the view excellent. Breakfast was nice, a self service buffet style with no queues. Overall a really enjoyable stay.

Not a real negative but more for noting. The pool was very cold and the pool food menu was quite pricey.

Beautiful room with jacuzzi, there was a sauna in the spa, the rooftop pool was amazing, nice staff, rooftop lounge, nice views from rooftop, good breakfast.

The hotel advertises that they have a hot tub, sauna and steam room, but the hot tub was more of a warm pool (I tried to turn it up, but it didn't get hotter), and using the sauna and steam room was confusing. It seemed like you had to make an appointment to use them. We ended up just using the sauna since it was on, but you had to book a time (it seemed like maybe at an additional charge) to turn on the steam room. The breakfast is good, but the staff are disorganized. They asked us to move tables since it was busy, but there was no other space for us to sit, so we ended up standing until they put us back to the spot we were originally at. Also, the coffee was bad at breakfast.

The location was close to everything I wanted. The ambiance was excellent, sitting by the pool and having drinks at the rooftop bar was so beautiful to behold especially at night. The management staff showed empathy and considered us for late checkout due to the delayed flight.

I booked the hotel with bed and breakfast on booking.com but was told it wasn't included when I arrived at the property which was disappointing. More meal options on the food menu at the hotel, complimentary drinks, water, or tea should be provided for guests after a long trip in the rooms aside from the Minibar.

We loved our stay. Our room was a good size & very comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful, pool was great for cooling off and relaxing by. Nice to workout in the gym with a view of the Acropolis. Staff friendly & helpful. Good laundry nearby - within 100m of the hotel - much cheaper & fast service.

Not much around immediate vicinity of hotel in the way of cafes & shops although there was a cafe/restaurant close by that had traditional Greek food - that was lovely. Be prepared for a good 10 minute walk to get to Plaka where there are lots of cafes, etc.

I accidentally booked the wrong dates, but the hotel agreed to move those with no additional charges even my booking was non refundable. Very appreciate such a good client oriented service. We parked our car right near the entrance and it was free. Nice bonus :) Love jacuzzi in the bathroom. It was perfectly clean (I’m very demanding talking about hygiene and a bit squeamish) and worked good. No issues with the water temperature and pressure, filled my bathtub very quick. Also love having soap, shower gel, shampoo, hair lotion and body lotion by Rituals instead of horrible usual hotel staff. My skin was happy and greatfull. Bed was comfortable.

It would be nice to have bathrobes and some room slippers. We didn’t find any in our room. Also, all the food on our breakfast was over salted.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Melia! We picked this place specifically for the pool which we used for a good chunk of our visit! It was so nice having a rooftop pool and bar to cool off from the heat and enjoy the views of the Acropolis! Especially at night! The rooms were very clean and nice as well and the staff was helpful. The hotel was about a 30 minute walk to the Acropolis and Plaka and about 15 minute walk to Psyrri!

The only thing I didn’t like was our hotel room did have a smell to it being under the pool. We were only there for a short amount of time so we did not inform the front desk until we checked out. So I do believe this issue would have been resolved if we changed rooms as the rest of our group did not have that same problem.

I stayed at the Melia Athens for 2 weeks whilst working in Athens with the Greek military. Check in was quick with friendly, helpful staff. A large comfortable room with a double bed, chair and desk for work. The hotel has a roof top restaurant and bar, I ate there a couple of time, food was very good, service excellent. There is also a swimming pool and great views of Athens. I used the small gym several times, more than adequate with a running machine, cross trainer and weights. I only ate breakfast at the weekends, good variety of English/American and continental, all self-service. Car parking: you can park outside the hotel if space is available, but I used an underground car park about 100m from the hotel, 12euros per night but peace of mind. I inadvertently left my room windows open on a couple of nights and was disturbed by people going about their nightly business or pleasures, close the window and you hear nothing. The room was well maintained. There is a mini bar and a refrigerator. There are numerous restaurants are cafes nearby, Greeks like their coffee. The hotel is in the centre of Athens so you can see the full range of the best, bus trips are available although my schedule did not allow the time but did visit preserved ruins of the ancient city, unfortunately you can also see the worst side with homeless people sleeping within 500m of the hotel. An excellent hotel, I will stay there again if I am in Athens

First and foremost, I want to say how much my wife and I were impressed with the lady that checked us in. I don't know exactly how her name is spelled but I think it was Ioli, sounds like "EE- O- LEE". She was so personable and helpful with advice on where to go, what to see, what not to miss, getting around and status updates regarding strikes, weather and everything else she could think of. She is the type of employee that makes a brand stand out. Please keep her and appreciate her hard work. Secondly, the room was excellent and the breakfast was outstanding. The cleanliness was appreciated and the extra towels were also nice to have after a long day. We had a very comfortable bed and having space in the mini fridge was good.

If there was anything I would suggest it would be to have coffee in the lobby so that you can have a cup early prior to the breakfast area opening. Also, my only gripe is that the A/C did not work all that well so we had to open the window to get some cool air. It was not an issue for us since our visit was in March, but I can see how it might be an issue during the summer months. The A/C also had some type of timer that turned it off after a set period of time and it was a bit annoying.
