Very simple, traditional hotel, beautiful location- very quiet part of the island.

There seemed to be an odd bias against booking.com customers- eg breakfast was not included if you had booked through booking.com and needed to be paid for up front each day. The €10 breakfast did not include coffee of choice- that was an extra charge. With no room tab offered, everything seemed oddly transactional.

The staff are helpful and friendly. The hotel itself is very beautiful, really nice balcony in room even without the sea view. And very nice to sit in the restaurant.

I wouldn't recommend staying in Vagia town if you are alone and/or without a car. The bus can take you out of the town only in the morning, there's not much options to explore the island. And scooter rent is expensive! Although the Vagia area is a nice one, the other locations on the island are nicer, more to explore and better beaches. The ones in Vagia weren't very clean. Although the one 0.5km walk from hotel was decent. But I do recommend staying here if you're with a car because the hotel is old but super beautiful. Keep in mind also that the wifi at the hotel isn't great but I guess it might be because the service in Vagia isn't great in general, so don't bring any work with you!

The hotel style and design is very cute. Many starts at night and very peaceful calming balcony with jasmine and pomegranate. Good internet and comfortable stay. Great drink options and food options. The staff knows island very well. Very quiet neighbourhood. Once we took a motorbike the island opened up in a new way, its very interesting and diverse landscapes, the three shore lines, the monastery valley and the zeus temple valley were all incredible places. We had a very good 4 days. (motorbikes were approximately 35-40 eur per day, it seems like its a must in a greek summer holiday)

What i didn't realise was how far the Vagia location was from the main port. The public bus timings are not very comfortable, the last bus to the Vagia from the main port was at 14:30 and alternative taxi is 20 eur, so it's almost a must to get a rented car or motorbike (which we did). Another unpredictable thing was the weather, the winds from Athens brought waves and trash on the north side of the island so we had to travel south to swim. Vagia area also suffered from the floods a week earlier to our stay and the paths were damaged near the shore. Breakfasts were appealing however a bit expensive.

The room was lovely. There are restaurants within walking distance and the beach was about 7-9 minutes walk from the hotel.. The hotel itself was a destination...You immediately calm down the minute you arrive ...easy going away from the crowds but just 15 minute drive from Aegina town. There was a bus stop about 50 meters( an easy walk) from the hotel...Great hospitality ...no stress here I would highly recommend it!.

I would like to comment on the lovely dinner meals-EXCELLENT but I did not really enjoy the breakfasts. I like toast , warm eggs ,pancakes, beans maybe ham or bacon .... so I thought the breakfasts need to be upgraded. They do offer ,cold hard boiled eggs, cold mini croissants and lots of fabulous cakes, apple, peach but I don't eat cakes for breakfast. They did offer plain yogurt and apples and oranges . Even if they offered hot boiled eggs and a toaster to make toast it would have been better.

the place was very clean and the bed was very big and comfy. the little balcony added a great touch and in general the place felt cozy and ideal to unwind and relax. linen and towels are frequently replaced with clean ones which was also very nice.

the small window of the bathroom needs some kind of netting for sure so as that no mosquitoes or flies can get inside, also the pressure of the water when taking a shower is a bit difficult to adjust.

Our room at the ground floor with it's comfortable bed and it's little balcony situated under the trees. The nice traditional and simple decoration of the room. The fridge in the room. The drier to hang your wet bathing suits and towels after a visit at the beach. The cosy jazzy everyday atmosphere at the terrace restaurant. The very nice breakfast made with fresh products. The very well organized flyer to tell you what to you can do in the neighboorhood and how to go there.

We loved the staff, the place was exceptionally beautiful and quite, the garden was the best part of us, enjoying our wonderful handmade breakfast. Totally worth of money. Lovely room view to the see and the sunset!

The only thing to be improved I think was the bathroom. In terms of cleanliness it was perfect but it generally needs a renovation I think. It was absolutely fine though.

The room was spacious and very pretty! I had a cat who came to visit me at my balcony every day. The hosts were super kind and friendly, always happy to help.

Taxi is the only way to get to the hotel if you’re arriving at the Agia Marina port. Other than the journey to the hotel, everything was great!

Our host was delightful and very accommodating. He was very helpful when we had a medical issue that required a trip to the local clinic. A peaceful place. Somewhat limited breakfast menu unless you like sweets. Dinner was great!

Assistance with getting luggage up the stairs would have been nice, but not a show stopper.

On arrival we were met by Noti and he gave us a really friendly and laid-back welcome. The laid-back attitude continued throughout our stay and helped create a stress-free and very relaxing atmosphere. While sitting on the terrace after arrival, we noticed that there was very little traffic. Sometimes it was several minutes between cars or mopeds passing the hotel. After sunset there was even less traffic in the area. The room was quite spacious, very clean and nicely decorated. Breakfast was traditional Greek style with a good selection on offer, too many choices to list on this review. All the staff we encountered during our stay were extremely helpful, polite and clearly wanted guests to feel relaxed and have a good stay. Two things to note are: 1. there is no street lighting in the area, however the area seemed very safe. 2. make sure you have some cash with you as there are no ATMs nearby that we noticed. Thankyou Noti and all the staff at Vagia Traditional Hotel. I'd definitely like to return sometime, and I hopefully will.
