Superb view overlooking the sea and mountains - room 201 if you are interested! The staff and owner couldn't do enough for you and I definitely will return... So far my favourite place in Kefalonia & as it is very close to the town square, main shopping street as well as a supermarket (but with its own restaurant right on the beach,The Comodore and you've got to try the chicken or pork skewers), you will have no problems in food choices or things to do. Very chilled, lovely breakfast, and spotless - couldn't fault it. Drove there from Argostoli and caught the ferry back (definitely will do the latter again)

Having to leave... 4 nights was definitely too short a trip and would spend more time there again

The breakfast was outstanding, with great omelets, home-baked cakes such as orange cake, and some of the best spanakopita I've tasted. Anastasia was a warm and responsive host. She upgraded our room to a larger suite as she felt bad that we had missed one night due to a missed connection. She was also helpful in arranging transportation for us to tour the island during our brief stay. The room we had was very spacious and the bed very comfortable.

The shower was a little difficult to negotiate given the sloped ceiling and my husband's 6 foot two-inch stature. Also, there is really no place at the hotel/boutique inn to sit outside.

This is a clean modern small hotel offering exceptional service thanks to the proprietors Dimitri and Anastasia who are absolutely committed to their role. The room in which we stayed was large, light and well equipped : the bed was extremely comfortable. In terms of location the hotel is a couple of minutes walk from Lixouri centre and immediately in front of a modest sandy beach offering sunbeds and an easy option for a pre-breakfast swim. The hotel was able to arrange airport taxi transfers and helpful advice on nearby places to visit. Taking the 3€ ferry crossing to Argostoli is a must. Look out for the Poseidon boat trip out of Lixouri; it is pricey but well worth the money. The hotel is very close to a car, scooter and bike rental company. Hiring a bike for a day or two allows you access to some fabulous beaches a few kilometres away. The Aura hotel is well suited to the more independent minded traveller and i wholeheartedly recommend it.

This is only a personal preference but i would rather the bed had been in a more central position in the room : the large sitting area was bigger than necessary at the expense of sleeping/storage space. Not a criticism, just an observation.

Very natural surroundings, right on the beach with unspoilt surroundings. The beds were very comfortable with thick mattress toppers and spotlessly clean. Staff are so lovely, could not fault anything about this hotel. The town is just a few minutes walk where there are plenty of restaurants which wee very reasonable priced and food was excellent. Lepeda Beach Taverna was a 2 minute drive and was an amazing place to chill with its natural surroundings. This is not a ‘plastic’ place!

Location is excellent - beach side and within easy walking distance of main town Lixouri, where there are shops, restaurants etc. Rooms are of a very good standard and beds are exceptionally comfortable. Breakfast is freshly cooked to order and home made cakes, pastries are also available etc. Quality of food is excellent. Very nice breakfast terrace overlooks the beach. Staff are very friendly and service is good. Hosts are very welcoming and helpful. Restaurant for dinner newly opened this year - menu is interesting with a focus on local dishes from the past making it a different dining experience. Restaurant overlooks the beach.

Wonderful location right on the beach. Room was an excellent size with plenty of storage available. The cleanliness was impeccable and the family/staff friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was very good and varied.

Only a slight criticism- the shower was a little dated and temperamental but no issues with hot water- that was fine. I also was under the impression I had paid for a room with a full sea view given it was the most expensive one available and did say "sea view" but the room was located to the rear which I did not expect.

Great location, just outside the town centre but a five minute stroll from it. The family who run the hotel are very friendly and helpful, they also run a restaurant nearby. There are numerous bars and restaurants in Lixouri and a very convenient ferry every half hour to Argostoli the capital. In mid September, many bus routes had closed for winter and car hire is essential to explore the island. Fantastic & dramatic scenery and views, beautiful beaches and friendly people.

As always we had a fantastic holiday enjoying the location ( the view is superb) , close to the town , shops, restaurants, etc , the comfort of the hotel, excellent bed, a very enjoyable home cooked breakfast and a restaurant serving good quality food - excellent service ! Above all the hosts are very welcoming, friendly and attentive .

This place was perfect. Right on the beach. In a quiet area but 5 mins from a lovely town. We booked a junior suite, which was huge, spotlessly clean and the bed and pillows so comfy. Breakfast was freshly cooked and you could have what you liked. Delicious. This is a family run hotel and Anastasia and her hubby are so friendly and helpful. Book early the word will get out about this place and only 11 rooms

Absolutely nothing

We were lucky enough to be put in one of the suites on the top floor - lots of room. The beds are new and VERY comfortable. There is a small super market half a block up the street which we found very convenient. The breakfast was great. All the staff treated you like you have always been friends. A short walk to the center square, most of which is on a pedestrian only street with shops and eateries. Great beach :-)
