Makedonia Palace is definitely luxury hotel on BEST LOCATION in Thessaloniki, by the sea shore with an extraordinaire view to Thessaloniki bay of Aegean Sea, and specifically to Thessaloniki. In addition, the hiking/bike trail, starting from Aristotelous Square to White Tower then by Makedonia Palace Hotel along to several km long trail by the sea is the main promenade/hiking/bike trail, various sport facilities like tennis, playground restaurants, cafes...visited by lot of people during all day and night. Excellent breakfast, very nice NAVONA Italian like restaurant in the garden by the sea promenade and many more offers.

The location, design and space is fantastic. A wonderful feeling of being able to relax in different areas.

For a 5 star hotel I wold have expected the shower to be cleaner. There were dark mouldy stains on the grout which is clearly visible. An easy fix which was overlooked. The service in the restaurant was average in spite of the politeness of the majority of the restaurant staff. There were certain staff members who excelled but others who unfortunately let the others down. The experience in the restaurant was mediocre as a result. The food was excellent!

The hotel calls itself a city resort and thats definitely true. It has been very carefully designed and the lounge and restaurant is like a designer-location with overall excellent and friendly staff. All is very new and well maintained. The a la carte food is amazing. Though outside it is very noisy, the rooms are quite silent and I felt very comfortable.

The prices of F&B are too high and though the buffet breakfast was large, it didnt give me the wow effect. I found it pretty standard with many carbs. For the little things you usually get for free, you have to pay extra (fried eggs or eggs Benedict). Saturday night when it got absolutely crowded, the service level dropped from quite good to zero and I did even have no chance to ask for my bill as I was completely ignored.

Breakfast was very busy. It took a long time until we received service. cappuccino with soy was cold and not tasty, during the whole stay. We arrived at the hotel the day after our wedding - we updated the hotel on this before, and were a little surprised that we did not even receive "congratulations" from the receptionists. Not to mention some gesture in the room.

the hotel is nearby the city with a beautiful promenade around the coastline. you can walk Oman’s even better hire a bike. the staff was super friendly and efficient. All is clean and well manteinded.

people smoke in many places include around the swimming pool. I recommend a clear area for smoking and not smoking. I skip the outside places because they are smokers all over the terrace.

Indeed a great 5* hotel, probably one of the best (if not the best) in Thessaloniki. Conveniently located on the sea shore, the hotel itself and its yard together with adjacent restaurant form a beautiful oasis in the middle of graffiti-covered, untidy Thessaloniki. The hotel provides direct access to the embankment which is one of the best places to visit in the city (other places worth visiting are mainly architectural and historical monuments located within a few kilometres range from the hotel). I paid a bit extra for a better room with the sea view - totally worth the money! The breakfast was great, and it was automatically included in the room rate. The gym was decent, as well as the swimming pool area.

I wish our room were a bit larger. Also it would be great to have the swimming pool heated - we visited Thessaloniki in June, however water was still chilly. Otherwise, nothing to complain about.

The hotel is well situated at the heart of Thessaloniki. The room was modern and of good size. The hotel offers free exterior parking, which is a great feature (interior parking also available at a cost). Hotel restaurant and bar are nice and roomy. It is very easy to step out of the hotel on foot and explore nearby neighborhoods and the beautiful city waterfront.

The hotel's fitness center facility can benefit from some updates. For one thing it is not accessible from inside the hotel; not a big problem, but it requires you to cross several hotel areas (including interior/exterior bar in your athletic wear). Equipment in the gym is rather dated.

We had to change room because carpets in first room were heavily stained BUT hotel responded quickly and moved us to a much better room. So this was not a complaint but slight inconvenience. After this everything went superbly

I would recommend that there be easy access to printed material regarding possible allergens in foods during the breakfast. Perhaps not for all the items, but at least for the items such as the muffins and breads. Otherwise, no complaints.
