Alta Moda Fashion Hotel

I also work in a hotel, and I understand from the inside what kind of work it is to maintain a hotel in good conditions - and these people are doing a great job! The staff is excellent - very friendly and helpful. The location is perfect - very close to the city center, a market, metro and tram stations, great places to eat (e.g. “Rustico Étterem”). The room was so nice, clean, and cozy - it had everything you might need! The hotel in general is also very cozy but spacious at the same time, and has a really stylish design (a fashion hotel indeed). Also, the breakfast was simply amazing! What we especially like in this hotel is their attention to details - starting from the Christmas decorations at the reception and your name as a greeting on the TV and ending with a wireless charging station in the table and a little coffee setup in the room. I could write more and more about our experience in this beautiful hotel, but I don’t want to spoil it too much - in short: it is the best place to stay in Budapest for such a reasonable price. The fact that we spent only one night.

We booked a comfort double/ twin room and stayed on the 3rd floor. The room was good size and loved the decor and views Room cleaned and free toiletries/water given daily. Hotel is on a lovely street in a great location about 5 minutes walk to the Central Market, close to bridge over to Buda side. Plenty of places to eat and drink. Staff were really friendly. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

If being picky we would have preferred a double duvet. We had 2 twins beds pushed together which was fine but had 2 single duvets & option to make a cup of tea.

The hotel is super swanky, in a really nice location (there is a lovely coffee shop opposite- 'Cafe Frei') and the breakfast is super lovely. Lots of tasty bread and meats and cheeses (and they had shakshuka one day!). I stayed in a standard room and it was very cosy and comfortable (some pictures are with this review). The location was great, very central and the big market is a 2 minute walk away. All round, it was a great hotel stay. If I was coming back to Budapest, I'd stay here again :)

It would have been good to have had a kettle- there was no kettle, but a coffee machine (which leaked a bit- a problem I've seen with coffee machines before!).

This was our 4th time to stay in Alta Moda. Location is fab. So central with easy access to Gellert baths. The hotel is extremely clean and the staff are so helpful. We were greeted with a lovely little box of chocolates and were also gifted a beautiful bottle of sparkling wine for being VIP guests which we greatly appreciated and enjoyed. Thank you 😊. Breakfast is buffet style and nice. Rooms are comfortable and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

There is no bar, but the location is so central that it's not a real issue. They have a quick little shop where you can get water, soft drinks and snacks in reception though .

Very nice amd friendly staff, very clean room and good breakfast.

It is not a disadvantage in general, but personally for us there was an issue with the amount of cleaning liquid (or whatever) with chlorine, which was used in the corridor. The smell was extremely strong and we were about to faint + I'm allergic to chlorine. I understand, that it shows that everything is clean and disinfected, but it's a little too much maybe. Also the bathroom was a little too small. And the noise from the corridor (especially when the cleaning maids were there), was a little too loud.

Room was big and airy and light. We had asked for a quiet room but the brilliant location meant it was on a busy pedestrian street so couldn't be too quiet. The double glazing was excellent though. Shower was the best ever! All staff were pleasant. Breakfast was good although some things were not replenished when they had run out, eg fruit. The location was superb, really easy for access to tram or the Hop in Hop off bus. The hotel was very clean throughout.

I don't think we could have chosen a better hotel.

The location. The breakfast. It feels like a new hotel. They save our bags before the check-in and after the check-out.

Not even paper slippers. It’s a 4-star, c’mon. I don’t need the Nespresso machine with free coffee when we have free breakfast, instead of that, give me slippers. The room was very hot (December), even when the heater was off. We had to sleep with the window open for a few hours. I know it’s cool outside, but is it really necessary for the hallway on every floor to feel like a sauna? The floor of the room was a bit dirty. The bed wasn't very confortable.

The hotel is new, so the room felt super clean like we were the first guests to host it. Also, the location is prime location. The room was great for a couple and we loved that we got a bottle of water and coffee capsules that were renewed every day. Also having our name on the TV screen adds a nice touch.

The entrance to the hotel is a bit off, you literally open the door to a stairwell and at first we were hesitant about staying there but when we climbed up (not that many stairs) we were reassured that it’s just the entrance. Also, the cleaning lady didn’t take the empty shampoo bottles from the shower, little stuff that matter to us. Breakfast could use some variety, we’re coming from a breakfast culture and we felt it was a bit lacking. Even the ingredients that were available like whole wheat bread weren’t restocked after they were done when we came down (half an hour before they closes the breakfast, maybe that’s why but still).

Very nice hotel! Absolutely amazing location ! Near the bridges , trendy, all the restaurants and on the waterfront . Can’t do any better than that! The room was big, clean and quiet. The breakfast was great, many option , healthy choices , plenty of fruits and vegetables. Staff was friendly and attentive . The only thing I took points off was the bed : the mattress was super hard ( every bone in my body was achy in am), and the pillows were disastrous ( that’s an understatement ). That definitely needs improvement. Wasn’t a deal breaker though. I would stay at this hotel again. Recommend!

I have been to this hotel before. I did not even look for others. I was taking my wife to Budapest for her first visit. She was truly impressed by everything about the hotel. Within walking distance for a pair of 70+ old people. We bought a city pass for local mass transit. It was a great backup to our daily walks. We hit 45 miles in one week. Once we were very happy to see the bus, street car and subway to help us get home. Hotel is on the main shopping street and so central to a transportation hub at the main market. Last day we checked out at 4 AM and had a breakfast to go bag. Note to US travelers, eat all the fruits and meats prior to arrival in US. US Customs service does not allow fruits and meats. If you DON'T declare it and they find it, big fines. We declared it and surrendered it. No fine, treated as a mistake on our part. I guess I should have know better...

We had rain one day. We had just come from a very rainy Paris, so once the rain stopped, it was good for the rest of our trip. That was something that neither the Hotel or the city could control. Just happy to only have the one day...
