It definitely feels like a home! All the people and the owner are so lovely, and the shower/bathroom and kitchen facilities are exceptional compared to other hostels!

It’s very cramped in, not layed out like your normal hostel and if you’re like me and get claustrophobic it was a little claustrophobic; just my personal opinion! Bags kind of everywhere and beds scattered around :/

Location was central, price was good, common area was cozy, located in a nice old building.

Womens dorms made no sense, had to walk through one dorm to get to the second dorm room. Also to go to and from the washroom from the women's dorm rooms you had to walk through the entire common area which is not the most comfortable. Kitchen not always the cleanest

The staff is very friendly. All the other guests were also friendly and willing to strike a conversation. The location is central and you can visit the local attractions by foot. Overall it was a nice experience. :)

Some washrooms didn’t have washbasins and were very compact.

Very close to the centre. Staff was really accommodating, responds to chat messages promptly as well. And they have got plenty of bayh and toilet. So yeah!

Please put hooks on the toilets as there is nowhere we can put some stuff

Zen Hostel is run by an exceptional owner, staff, and volunteers who are friendly and helpful. The hostel is centrally-located, clean, and filled with all the amenities (good kitchen, clean bathroom, and stable internet). I visit Budapest quite frequently and have stayed at several hostels in the city. This was my fourth stay at Zen and I am already looking forward to my next visit. Thanks again.

The location is absolutely perfect, the staff is amazing, cheerful and super helpful, and the beds are comfortable. I really liked its relaxed, feel-good, and zen (as suggested by the name) atmosphere.

Unfortunately the kitchen wasn't too clean - but I guess that's mainly guests' fault...

We stayed at their Minerva property, excellent staff! You will get a great view of the city and the river from there. It's brand new furnished and everything was tidy neat & clean. It has a large kitchen, a common area, and a big balcony facing the city. A pleasant place to have your breakfast and spent some quality evening time away from the city noise!

The information is hidden where you will be staying, now they have several locations. During the booking, we were only shown the location by central market and later only during the check-in we had been given the option to choose somewhere else, we felt a bit cheated. Although, we were really happy to get the top floor room at Minerva location, but it might not be the same for everyone!

A lot of space, chairs, nice kitchen. I could sit with my laptop in common area in silence for an hour, and no one would disturb me. Free tea. Silence at night, no noisy roommates. I could really sleep. The curtains for each bed, so that we all had some privacy.

Reception was in a different building than my room. It's just 5 min away but with all the luggage may be a bit uncomfortable.

I have stayed for 5 days only while travelling for a short trip alone, the staff are very friendly and helpful, the services are convenient and i can see what kind of friendly and cozy/hospitable environment the staff and owners are trying to create and they did a really good job with it, the bunkmates are nice and friendly people, they clean daily, the facilities are good, coming from a resident of Hungary the location was really great, right next to the great market hall, a beautiful experience for tourists, and infront of the Fővám tér boulevard for a variety of restaurants and cafe's and bars and landmarks, and the view from liberty bridge is spectacular showing the famous architectural style of budapest with the gellert hill and the ciatdel in buda, you can see the renouned BME school from there too :), i would recommend this place for anyone looking for a budget friendly yet exceptional experience.

I had an absolutely amazing stay at this hostel! I stayed here for 5 nights as a female solo traveler and absolutely loved it. The staff were really nice and friendly, they helped me a lot. The room was beautiful. It was finely spaced for everyone. It had a sofa, a desk, fans, lockers, and an amazing view from the balcony. The beds have curtains on them. Bathrooms and kitchens were easy and convenient. The common areas were vibrant. I met some amazing travelers during my stay. The atmosphere is welcoming and fun. I recommend this place to everyone!
