The place is nice and clean, but for sure take one of the rooms with balcony!

The staff was barely available and not friendly at all. Asking for some fixes in the room, which never happened..

Strongly recommend (we needed one night stop on the longer road by car). Heart of the city, so everything was pretty close. First of all, the host was very friendly and really helpful, helped with all the questions about city and shops and useful information; room was clean (air condition, helped on hot day), toilet clean, small kitchen place but for a quick stay it's enough, bed was good, nice cornered bath but in opened bathroom (we didn't care, some might). 24h access to the rooms. We were on the weekend, so the parking on the street was free and there were a lot of free places - don't know how it looks in the working days. Beautiful Budapest, we will be going there back for sure!

We didn't looked for high standards, so everything was acceptable and true with the description.

Very spacious, clean. We had everything we needed for a group of four - a small kitchen, common area, two bedrooms, two bathrooms. Very well located - you can reach almost all places of interest on foot. And even though this place is in quite busy area, it has an inner yard, so its's quiet.

We arrived quite late and the entrance seemed a bit complicated (at daylight, it doesn't look so :) ). We had to pay a late check-in fee (10eur) and the lady who welcomed us had problems speaking English (but we managed to understand what she showed and said). Pillows could be more comfortable. But these minuses are very minor - in general we enjoyed our stay very much.

The most perfect place to stay. In a wonderful charming area, easy to get around to the rest of the city, but this exact neighborhood is both charming and quiet and local. The rooms are beautiful, elegant and comfortable, completely clean, with a great light from the large windows. Its so easy to come and go, and the staff are sweet and helpful. House octogon served as the best sanctuary during my Budapest visit. I will definitely come back.

The hotel was lovely and great value. The staff were very friendly. The room had great facilities and was in a great location very close to tram lines and metro's. I would highly recommend this hotel. The room was also very spacious and even had a kitchenette with an electric hob and microwave. The remote controlled air-conditioning was also great in the hot weather. The staff were also able to recommend us a local restaurant which provided great meals at a great price.

There was nothing I didn't like. It was amazing.

The location is perfect, next to the embassies, so it's peaceful at night. Maybe we were just lucky or it was the season, but we could find public parking space without much hassle. The room was clean and the towels were nicely fragrant. AC is working and helps to cool the room from the daily heat and dry out from moisture after bathing.

The toilet could use a hand towel as well as a bathroom. The mini fridge was not working, but we could use the shared one in the corridor.

Housed in a stylish grand old building that like a lot of others in Budapest are somewhat rundown. The rooms however aren't rundown being attractive as the pictures suggest with comfortable beds and a good shower/bathroom.

When we first arrived the TV wasn't working but when we kicked up a fuss we were given a new room. Spotty WiFi, Spartan kitchen hardware. The curtains were not wide enough to close fully but a clothes peg we brought solved it.

Staying in House Octogon was the best decision we could ever make. House Octogon has been located right in between amazing city center and Lake City Park, so it was pretty much easy to go in any direction. House Octogon is safe to stay in, room is amazing, with small kitchen, clean bathroom and clean room. Staff from the house is pretty much easy to make plan with, for the check in/out, and any other query you have. My recommendation to everyone!

I wanted to stay more, however, couldn't..

-The tall doors are real. It is exactly like the ones in the pictures; however, the view beyond is less than what I expected: it is only narrow street view. -the balcony I wanted was real, just it was icy cold since it is late October. I asked before I arrived of tools to get better sun exposure since I am coming from the nordic countries and sun is the essential of my trip. I was told that I came to the wrong city.... .There were almost no reception and no baggage check. I was told to store my bag at the laundry room with code. But when I came back for my luggage, the door was open, luckily my bag was still there. -there are kitchen ware, a kettle and stove. That was nice. even though I have my own tools. -There was a taxi driver outsourced by this place to pick people up at the airport. 25 euro. This is nice for people coming to the city the first time (might be last time, I suppose)... -a bit reassurance with the security of the city comparing to living in the rural or mountains

-it is not a hotel. Something like a converted apartment. -I was charged 10 euro for late fee. It is acceptable. But I didn't realised that it is not a hotel... -the entrance is nice, but with all the mirror, corridor and spacious stairs. A bit off for late arrivals. I tried to not look myself in the mirror until I reached my room.

Great location - right in the city's heartbeat (very quiet though) just a jump away from Octogon metro station. Room I've stayed in was clean, tidy, equipped with everything needed. Host was very nice, helpfull and responsive. I had great stay there.

Really can't complain on anything
