After spending a week in Iceland, we can confidently say that our stay with you was the best and most memorable. From the moment we arrived, the reception staff welcomed us with warmth and friendliness, setting the tone for a wonderful stay. Our room was spacious, fresh, and recently cleaned, with comfortable beds and fresh, crisp linen that ensured a good night's sleep. The bathroom was also spacious, with a large showerhead and plenty of hot water, making it easy for us to unwind and relax after a long day of exploring. We appreciated the TV in our room, which offered a welcome break from our adventures, with channels providing information on the history of Iceland and volcanic facts. The breakfast was a delicious spread of continental foods as well as local delicacies, including shark, which was a unique and exciting experience for us. The variety and quality of food offered were impressive, and we enjoyed every bite. We were also grateful for the convenient parking arrangement that allowed us to park our car right outside our room, which made packing up in the rain much easier. Overall, our stay at your hotel was a truly wonderful experience, and we are grateful for the level of service and attention to detail provided by your staff.

Location was absolutely perfect - came out here hoping to see some northern lights, and I was not disappointed! The bed was very comfy and it was handy having a desk with two good chairs to finish up some work. Room was spacious and the heating was very effective. BEAUTIFUL views from front door and back window. The restaurant has ample seating inside and out - it was nice to take my coffee out to enjoy the views over the surrounding farmlands and mountains. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room are good to have. I went out late to seek the lights, and saw plenty - and once I came back, the show started overhead! All but one of the pictures in the review were regular exposure and what could be seen with the naked eye at the hotel. It was wonderful.

It would be nice to have a microwave in the room, but not the end of the world! Bit of a smell from the bathroom - closing the door helped, and it isn't a deal breaker. I wish the huge light in the courtyard was turned out at night so I could have enjoyed the aurora even more clearly.

Árnanes Country Hotel was lovely. Our room was spacious with space to lay out our things and not be shifting the suitcase out of the way. The beds were comfortable, there was lots of hot water and the breakfast was yummy! We spent two nights there and it we looked forward to coming "home" the second night after a long day of sightseeing. Recommend it highly.

The TV did not work and the staff tried to fix it but couldn't. We didn't discover this until the second night. We weren't there to watch TV anyway.

We liked almost everything about this accommodation. It was clean, well presented and everything worked. Breakfast was typically Icelandic and perfectly acceptable - first time I've ever seen custard creams offered as a breakfast choice though!!!! The accommodation was without fault.

Personally, I was not keen on the owner standing over the breakfast buffet. I'm absolutely sure that he wasn't watching everything we helped ourselves to, but it did feel like that. I think he'd be better taking his laptop somewhere else and leave us to have breakfast without feeling we were being watched all the time. Also, although the accommodation was faultless and the food was excellent, it was quite expensive and not, necessarily, the best value for money in the area. We especially thought that £34 GBP for a single plate of lamb and mash was expensive - even for Iceland - although, to be fair, we chose it!!

I loved the hospitality and hygiene at Arnanes. Everything looked so clean and nice. And also the way the hotel is situated in nature is amazing. A great view upon the mountains, that's even more beautiful with sunrise and sunset! The owners were very friendly and always in for a chat, and even some sightseeing and aurora advice. Bonus for Dutch travelers: the owner also speaks a good amount of Dutch! I'm definitely coming back to this hotel if I visit Iceland again. Really enjoyed my stay there.

This is a "motel style" place... just off the Iceland Ring road (route 1), 5 mins drive outside Hofn. It's close enough to the road that you can just hear the cars, but wasn't any problem at night. The rooms are all wooden cabin style. Excellent price. Really friendly family hosts. Decent breakfast. Beautiful views of mountains nearby. Would be really good on a clear night for viewing Northern lights (unfortunately cloudy the night we were there). Hofn itself is a nice little harbour town, with lovely walks on the peninsula beyond the town. Really good lobster to be had here.

Bathroom feels a little basic, but totally adequate especially at the price.

This guesthouse was by far one of my favorite places we stayed in, if not my favorite. The property was gorgeous - it had horses, a bunny, and a garden. Their food for dinner was incredible - it was traditional Icelandic food that truly was home cooked. The family running it was very kind and accommodating, and the breakfast had a small but good selection of things. Our room was huge for Icelandic standards, and also had a beautiful view. It was peaceful here and I would absolutely stay here again!

The room was comfy, certainly large enough for me and my niece. The whole place was clean. The bed was super comfy and they had extra pillows in the room, which was fantastic (the only one of 6 different hotels/hostels we stayed in that week!). The owner was so motherly and spoke with love and concern to all of the guests at breakfast - which was delicious, too. Bonus: the owner softly knocked on our door to let us know the Northern Lights were out. We were blessed to be able to see them, thanks to her kindness!

I liked everything!

Once you travel around Iceland you quickly realize, the hotel options aren’t lavish. This property is basic and gets the job done for a nights sleep. We had to book 2 rooms for our family of 4. So it was 2 twins in each. Rooms are decent size. Room was clean.

No blackout curtains. With 24 hr sunlight in the summer, you really appreciate blackout curtains. Curtains blocked most light but still decent amount through. Have an eye mask!

Everything was quite clean and the room was simple yet cozy. The building layout also made it so that noise from other rooms/travelers was kept to a minimum. The included breakfast was excellent and had many more items than other places I stayed that also had breakfasts included.

My only disappointment was that the on-site restaurant and bar were closed for the season. I missed it by one day. Not sure if that is due to less travelers coming through or what but the inside was very nice and looked to be a great place to have a meal.
