Ananda Ubud Resort

Nestled in about 14 acres of lush landscape in Ubud, Ananda Resort offers a serene and enchanting escape. With 3 beautiful yoga pavilions, I wish they actually have scheduled daily yoga classes where guests can opt to sign up for. Currently, they do offer yoga but on an arranged schedule, depending upon how many people are interested so it makes it quite expensive if you’re the only one.

Breakfast was brilliant. Fresh juice made for breakfast. hot and cold meals in buffet. Huge selection. I am a Celiac and they had gluten free bread:) Room was Indonesian and although a little and old was full of character and was very clean. Daily cleaner was delightful, and I tipped him as he deserved this. Poll was brilliant we used it daily and rang for pool service for drinks to be delivered. Loved it!! I would stay again. Other family members arrived after we had left and stayed at out recommendation and they loved it and thought it was brilliant value for money, and clean!!

Everything. The location was perfect for us. Easy taxi ride to the bustling centre of Ubud. Also there was a shuttle bus to use. The swimming pools were brilliant. The breakfasts were incredible service was perfect, they booked taxis and sorted so much out for our family group. Taxis to the spa to shopping to other resorts for the wedding. There was a shop within easy walking distance as and also great restaurants close by. Lots of meals out and about at night. The place felt welcoming and felt Balinese not just another western hotel.

Water pressure was a bit low but with everything else so good, no one cared.

Ananda is an incredible oasis of peace in Ubud. The bungalows are located in the middle of the rice fields and beautifully decorated with wood and batik textile, making you feel really relaxed and living a truly local experience. We fell asleep to the sound of nature and the cute little frogs at night. The resort is huge and includes also a wonderful yoga shala for your practice. Breakfast is great and all the staff is helpful, smiley and always available. This is a perfect place to stay if you want enjoy the peace and unique energy of Ubud while being close enough walk to the city centre. We will 100% be back.

The fact we had to leave.

Great location with plenty of restaurants and shopping a short walk up the street. The resort has a beautiful, relaxed feel to it. Very peaceful and picturesque with the rice paddies in the middle of the accommodation. Ambience is very chilled. Breaakie was good. Limited options and vegetarian but yummy. Rooms were very spacious and had lovely views over the rice paddies (slightly impeded in our room). Big deck out front. Decent bathroom with shower over bath. Nothing fancy but had everything we needed. We were a group of 5 and all loved our stay. All agreed it eas excellent value for money!! Recommend.

If i had to find a negative.. It's small, really... we loved our stay!! Pools could have been better. Nicely maintained but fairly basic style and small. But there's several! Beds were a little on the hard side, and it would be great if the front doors actually closed properly when you left and locked up the rooms. The mosquito nets were a novelty but great to have! The weird lock on the front door is very fidgety to use.

Beautiful gardens and surrounds, great location, friendly staff, rooms very clean and room attendant very thorough and helpful (thanks Sudiasa) We stayed in adjoining rooms 36A and 36B and it was lovely to have a shared balcony space between the rooms so we had plenty of space to share with the kids. Beautiful outlook from the room. We stayed 14 nights and were very pleased with our stay

Some elements of the rooms and pool facilities etc are aging but we can see they are in the process of updating these (pool umbrellas being replaced during our stay with lovely clean covers) and we love the rustic charm of Ananda so it didn’t bother us. Very good value for money

Both had Bali belly (not from here) and spent the whole time in the room which the bed was super comfy and spacious 2 pools which were great if we managed to get out of bed Can rent a bike from here Free shuttle to the centre

Bathroom is outdoors so can find a lot of ants Had a poisonous wasp in the room twise which they had to kill No fan in the back room/bathroom so was hot in the day Shuttle service wouldn’t pick you up from the centre even though it’s free and encouraged to get a taxi back to hotel. Thought the shuttle would be free both ways?

The rooms were very large and nice. The mosquito nets on the beds are a necessity as mozzies are able to get into the rooms through the cracks everywhere. However, as long as you keep the doors closed it is manageable. The resort is very large and very quiet. Breakfast was actually busy and you wonder where the people came from. Breakfast was simple but ok but considering the price we paid we might have expected a bit more.

Breakfast could have been better considering the price point of the property. The location is a bit far out of town and grab cost about 50K coming back in the evening, day time is much cheaper, around 20-25K. Due to the wet season you could not really sit outside due to the mozzies, but that is everywhere in Bali in December I am told.

The resort is with rice paddy fields which was lovely. The staff were friendly and very happy to help with any requests. Nothing was to much trouble. The resort was out of town a little, only a couple of minutes, but it was great to be away from the noise and hustle and bustle. The room was spacious and well supplied with the normal amenities and water daily. The pool was great, at 2.4 m deep in the middle it certainly made for good diving. There was at least one other pool at the resort a will.

Although the room was a great size it was very noisy when others were in the rooms either side. There was no soundproofing which meant you could hear everything that was going on next door.

Great place to stay with a family. A 25 minute walk or $5-$10 taxi ride from central Ubud so a great location. It is conveniently on one of the main roads into Ubud but we could not hear traffic in the resort. We had 2 connecting rooms which was great with 2 teenagers. Resort is a traditional style, lots of space, comfy beds, large verandahs, clean and quiet. There are 3 pools so not overly busy (often we had one of the pools to ourselves). Good basic breakfast offered, staff were great and helpful. Being close to central Ubud, lots of options for meals outside of resort are close by. Resort is surrounded by working rice paddy fields and it was interesting watching being worked as an added bonus. A very calm and relaxing location & stay. Highly recommend if you want a great value resort for families, that is close to the centre of town.
