The view of the lake is EXCEPTIONAL. But, the highlight for me was the employees who were beyond accommodating and kind. I am traveling with my 11 year old son, so the fact that the employees involved him in breakfast decisions and how he was doing every day was really nice. And, let's be real, the fake nice were not displayed by the employees here - every single person was kind and thoughtful because that's who they genuinely are as a person.

The walls are a bit thin - but what do you expect from a historical town around Rome??? When it was a bit loud in the evening, I went to the front desk and they handled it quickly and appropriately without any drama. So, not really a negative ?

Room we paid for was not a lake view however we were on a side street which still had a window that overlooked the lake and just next-door was a small communal terrace with table and chairs again overlooking the lake. Breakfast is ordered the night before as they cook fresh pastries each morning. They also do hot food however don't expect a full english which is very rare in Italy anyways. The pear (pera) juice is really nice. The hotel is like a small boutique hotel and has a small breakfast room. There is also an attached restaurant which wasn't really open when we were staying due to the season being nearly over. Also it was windy the couple of days we stayed so the roof terrace was not open which was a little shame. You are right on the door step of the charming village of Castel Gandolfo and can stroll the streets around the hotel until late before retiring to bed. The palace gardens were wonderful. The lake itself is breathtaking however as mentioned quite windy down by the lake in mid October. All in all a lovely stay and the team at the hotel were really accommodating and helpful. The maintenance guy was a star and saved our bacon when there ended up being a transport strike on our last day! Grazie Mille

Very little wrong with the place to be honest. Slight smell from the bathroom but thats probably down to the ancient sewerage system in Castel Gandolfo. The whole village is very old with lots of history and charm. The other downfall is to get the lovely view from Castel Gandolfo then if you arrive by train then you have a short but steep trek up to the village. As soon as you reach the top and turn round you get the most amazing view that takes your breath away and you forget all about the brief challenging walk. If you call the reception in advance the will organise a taxi for you from the station at a reasonable price. Alternatively you can go to Albano Laziale station to the gates of Castel Gandolfo station by a small bus. However the timetable is quite infrequent.

This hotel has the best location in the village with only a few steps to several small cute shops and nice restaurants surrounding it, If you get the lake view rooms you will believe you're in a fairytale because of how lovely the view is from the balconies where you can enjoy a good drink and just relax The staff were so informative before we arrived about parking spots and we even had the opportunity to meet their manager who made our last night in Italy even better than we imagined it'd be with a lovely restaurant booking in the back corner of the hotel We were so surprised by the lovely touch in our room after check in as well with the heart shaped towels and prosecco on the house Definitely coming back to this hotel again

Me and my fiancee could not find anything negative, we were so pleased with everything we only wished we had more time to stay

Great location 🙌❤️even though we had a car, we didn’t use it daily you have so many options, restaurants, cafes, lake, shopping, relax in their plaza ! Amazing, warm, friendly, unforgettable place ❤️ we traveled from San Diego, California and loved every second !!! PS FANTASTIC breakfast 👏👏👏 you order the night b/4, many options ! Great coffee ❤️ very clean room and phenomenal view !

This booking was a very last minute decision for us and we are SO glad we did it! From the moment we arrived we were in awe of how beautiful this town is and this property is in the most perfect position. I booked one of the rooms with the water view and although I saw the photos before arriving it honestly doesn't do it justice. We were absolutely blown away by how incredible the view was it seriously made our trip. To let you know our room we had was small but for us it had all we needed (including a mini fridge). The shower is also quite small so be aware of that but to be honest the room didn't matter to us as we were just in love with the view so much and treated it just as a place to sleep and spent most of our time on the balcony/exploring the amazing town. At night we did get alot of mosquitos while sitting on the balcony so maybe come prepared but don't let them scare you off! Side note, we went to a great restaurant called 'Arte Vino' and the pesto pasta + chilli basil is a must try! The staff were SO friendly, we had a hire car and parked it right outside in order for us to check in and then we moved it close by (maybe a 5 minute walk) to some free parking which was recommended by the hotel. The breakfast included was very generous and we ordered it to our room which came on time and was delicious. If we are ever able to come back we will 100% be staying again and will make sure we recommend to everyone we know.

Great location, very beautiful view of the lake. Delicious breakfast, you can choose it the day before, and it's delivered to your room at no extra cost. The room was small but had everything needed, a bit worn but clean. Several restaurants nearby. The hotel is located on top of a hill; a bicycle would speed up getting around. Distances are long on foot, but the beautiful view makes up for it 😀

The location of the hotel was perfect, the view spectacular. It is situated approximately 100 metres from the main square and 25 metres to some fine restaurants. It is a very quiet small town. The hotel staff were very friendly and accomodating. The breakfast option to have it served in the room was wonderful so you can take in the beautiful views of the lake from the balcony. Parking in the area is at a premium and expect to drop your luggage off and find a spot some distance away. I’ve stayed in many places in and around Rome and this was a wonderful little stop after a long flight.

There wasn’t anything significant that I could honestly say I didn’t like.

It needs to make bike storage available. There was a basement associated with the restaurant that was eventually used but the first night we had to lock them up outside which we weren't comfortable with.

Absolutely one of the best places I have stayed in my entire life. Had I known that in advance, I would have rearranged our planning to stay longer. Every aspect was just incredible.

Couldn't figure out how to reach the parking lot when we arrived. We had to drive up to the castle and through a courtyard that looked pedestrian-only and down a ramp to the parking area.

We had the double room with balcony. The balcony was outstanding, you could sit outside and take in the entire lake view. It is particularly nice with the free breakfast room service. The staff were also super friendly, organizing events and our airport shuttle. We had to leave before the breakfast, and the staff prepared small breakfast bundles for us to take. The location is also amazing, aside from being close to the train station, overlooking the lake, being close to the papal museums and gardens; it is also adjacent to a long stretch of cute shops and restaurants.

The room is a bit small and outdated. The shower we had didnt close properly. The Wi-Fi range didnt make it to our room, so we didnt really have access. Though the booking.com site says there are spa services, there are none at the property.
