Location is great: you just walk out and you in are the middle of Santa Lucia district, with the splendid waterfront of Via Nazario Sauro (the best view of Vesuvio and Capri), via Partenope behind the corner, and going on to via Caracciolo and Castel dell'Ovo at a 5-minute walk. The same, on the other side, with Piazza Prefettura, via Toledo, and the magic of Chiaia and Quartieri Spagnoli. Personnel makes the difference, very helpful and collaborative they solve all the problems or, at least, they try hard!!! Value for money is good enough... you can find cheaper places in Naples but not with the same standards.

We had a problem with the bathroom after the first night (but we were promptly changed the room). Breakfast location is a bit small and you might eventually need to wait some time before get seated. Breakfast per se was ok, with excellent local pastries (famous sfogliatella) but choice was not very broad.

I think the service is what counts above and beyond. And full score for that. When I arrived at the hotel I forgot my mobile in the car, but during my check-in the owner Dionisio was on site and instantly took action and went above and beyond to track my mobile back (thankfully I remembered the taxi service number printed on the taxi door). They ensured to called the taxi service provider and also be constantly in touch with the driver once they could track him. They saved me so much hassle that i cannot be thankful enough. Oh and also i love their breakfast, small but really really good and very good coffee too. the location is also very good very close to the sea and a lot of eating options and bars.

Excellent breakfast: The hotel offers a delicious breakfast with a wide variety of options, satisfying different tastes and dietary preferences. Well-maintained bathroom: Despite being a bit old, the bathroom is well taken care of and kept in good condition, ensuring functionality and cleanliness.

Small room: While the room is clean and quiet, it may be considered a bit small for some guests, potentially lacking in space to comfortably accommodate larger luggage or provide ample room to move around. Aging bathroom: Although the bathroom is well maintained, its outdated appearance may not appeal to guests who prefer more modern facilities. However, this is subjective and may not be a major concern for everyone.

fantastic location with very helpful staff, all sights in Naples are walkable from hotel and you are directly on seafront, breakfast buffet was nice and plentiful

as an old building their was the inevitable issue of maintenance, the showers were very dated although rooms were comfortable, we had water pressure issue which we reported and this was eventually resolved after two days, the Management were very apologetic and i cannot fault the friendly atmosphere of the hotel.

From start to finish the stay at the HOTEL REX was superb - location by the sea in one of the better areas I suggest of Naples which is a vast and busy city. Breakfast not your standard British B&B breakfast but more than enough to get you off to a good start to the day - some of the pastries were out of this world and the coffee was very good as well Room - we shared a twin bedded room but more than enough room - open the window and you could see Vesuvius and the sea - you could say the bath fittings were a little dated but is based on the age of the building and also the cost to be spent to really update - however that's being picky and more then suited to our needs. Staff - all pleasant and couldn't do more for you.

Nothing to fault

I love the fact that this is family owned. It has a personal touch and it is very responsive to the needs of international travellers. The location is amazing & absolutely in the best part of town. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very Italian so some Brits may moan as no scrambled eggs or bacon etc. But suited us just fine. And the coffee was out of this world!!

It can be a bit noisy at nighttime. It’s near a busy stretch and inevitably there’s a fair bit of partying going on. The air conditioning worked (it was v hot when we were in Naples even in October!!) but was quite erratic and would suddenly blast out noise and then rumble. So we had a couple of nights wrestling with this. But hey. This is a busy city and we were in the heart of town so this wasn’t a big deal really.

Very convenient walk to the castle and views of the bay. Lovely hotel without the crazy prices by the water. I have used the hotel 2 times now when using the ferry the next day. 15 minute walk to port or taxis close by. Can only speak for rooms that have the sideways view on the balcony of the bay. Lots of restaurant options in walking distance. Have not had a car when staying there.

The location was great - it is in Santa Lucia, which is a pretty part of Napoli, right next to the water. It is a short walk from the nearest metro station, and also close to several noteworthy sites. The staff was particularly helpful and friendly, and definitely made us feel welcome during our stay. The breakfast was extensive, and there was enough variety that we were never bored during our five night stay.

The shower cabin could have been slightly larger. The bathroom was actually very spacious, and could actually fit a larger shower cabin.

Fantastic hotel. Staff were amazing throughout, including when one of our group had to stay in the hotel to work despite being holiday, they looked after her and brought her pizza. The hotel is clean and well located for a quieter bit of town, very welcome when you want to get away from the buzz of Napoli. The views across the bay of Naples towards Vesuvius were incredible. Breakfast was exceptional, felt authentically Italian rather than just continental. Literally cannot fault it.

Nothing, it was perfect.

We were sceptical of our stay in Naples and this hotel and it's location made the trip. It's set on a lovely street close to the Marina. We couldn't have asked for better. Breakfast was great, staff friendly, room clean and comfy.

The only niggle was the shower didn't drain very well meaning when washing my hair I had to turn the shower off to let it drain for a couple of mins.
