We mostly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Dimora Fornillo. We were grateful to have found a spot in Positano that was more reasonably priced compared to other nearby hotels. We loved the charming decor and the staff were very sweet and accommodating. The staff were great with their communication before our arrival, offering to help arrange excursions, restaurant reservations, and porter services for our luggage. Our room was quite spacious and had a door to the back terrace that had an amazing view of the coast- one of the mornings we had breakfast outside and it was gorgeous!

We found the facilities to be a bit outdated. The bed was quite uncomfortable and firm with thin blankets and pillows. The shower was good enough, but could probably use a good deep clean. The walls appeared to have old peeling paint. Another thing to consider- but we knew this before we booked- is the number of steps it takes to get to the hotel- just something to consider as it was quite tiring!

Very friendly staff, everyone was very helpful and always with a smile 😊. The hotel is very close to the beach and not far from town. Beautiful views. Thank you so much for your hospitality.

The shower was a bit small and the internet wouldn’t reach our bedroom mostly where the bed was. Apart from that the stay was great

We absolutely loved our time in Positano and at Hotel Dormora Fornillo! It's hard to decide what was the best part! Firstly, it has to be the super friendly and helpful staff. Tiziana was so attentive with our breakfast and remembering the things we liked over the 4 days, whilst also suggesting things we could try. Franko was so sweet from start to finish, suggesting the best ways to walk around and the best restaurants in Positano - and we can vouch for these as we tried every single one! He also carried our bags up to the road on the last day and we found him very very kind. Secondly, it has to be the view from our room - this was spectacular and I am so glad we opted for the sea view! :) There were plenty of steps but we actually found it very manageable given we could always choose to take the slightly longer but windy road back up to our hotel rather than the steep steps. Overall, a wonderful experience and we'd love to return! Thanks Hotel Dimora Fornillo!

The ONLY thing we didn't like so much was the rather out-dated hairdryer in the bathroom, but this is a tiny thing amongst a wonderful trip!

it was better than I expected. Everyone spoke about the steps but it wasn’t too crazy. It’s wise to use steps to the beach on the way down and on the way back just use steps from the other direction to go down from the road The place was in a perfect location in my opinion as it was located in a less crowded space of positano, the other side can get very annoying as there are regular visitors to the town on a daily basis and it can get too busy. Also the room is huge and breakfast view is great. Lastly the staff is very kind and polite. Special thanks to the old man who kept looking after us. Definitely try Da Vicenza which is a Michelin star, unreal food and vibe. It’s great value for money in a super overpriced location with other hotels

The view from our room (57) was absolutely amazing. The room was spacious with a large terrace which had two sun loungers & an elegant table and chairs. The room also has a mini fridge. Breakfast was offered in the garden overlooking the bay and we were offered a good selection. There is a part private pathway and gate down to the beach, which cuts out a little of the 'hike'.

Obviously there are steps.....many, many steps. It's just part of the adventure but needs to be taken into account. There is a short walk from the drop off point to the hotel so it would be sensible not to go overloaded with bags. However, the hotel did bring our bags back up to the pick up point for us. I personally would have liked coffee making facilities in the room. The hair dryer isn't very powerful.

We LOVED our stay! The rooms were super clean and the staff went above and beyond to make us comfortable. It’s family run, and felt more like a bed and breakfast than a hotel. The views are stunning and it’s in a great location just above the Fornilla beach area. We loved having our breakfast in the garden area with a view every morning! They even helped with baggage when checking in and leaving as well which was SO helpful. I can’t wait to come back!

Very attentive wonderful people! Our stay was like a piece of heaven on Earth. The breakfast was nice and the place clean and comfortable. We had sunbeds on our balcony/terrace. The beach really close, and some wonderful restaurants nearby! The garden had amazing views, flowers and kitties. Going up and down the stairs its worth it but there are shortcuts with less stairs too, just ask the hosts. ♡ Thank you so much, we're looking forward to stay with you some other time soon!

The guest services were incredible. Staff offered ample tips for things to do locally and how to navigate the coast during a very busy time. The location was breathtaking and above the most accessible and enjoyable beach in Positano. The stairs, though a little workout, were gorgeously lined with flowers and greenery. We treated it a bit like a nature walk and enjoyed every trip up or down. Restaurant recommendations from the hotel yielded two special experiences in a place where eating is challenging because of demand. Recommend buying a bottle of Prosecco in the lobby and enjoying your view from the patio. It cannot be beat and is a delightful respite in a very beautiful but insanely busy area.

The room we had was absolutely stunning! The terrace, and view from the big window in the room were breathtaking. The room was very clean as well. The shower was really small - my husband could barely fit! The location is a little far from the main part of Positano, but it’s close to a lot of the beach clubs.

Breakfast was superb and the outside garden dining area was gorgeous! The employee doing the breakfast was courteous and quick. Our place had a beautiful view and was clean and beautiful. The patio area was charming.

We didn't realize that the paths on Google maps were actually a TON of stairs! You have to be prepared to haul your luggage up and down, or pay a decent fee to have some poor chap do it for you. I'm in my thirties, fairly fit, and my legs hurt for a solid week after exploring Positano. Granted, we also hiked part of the Path of the Gods. Most places in Positano are similar, though- prepare to do stairs! We also couldn't use the patio as much as we liked because our neighbors would go out there and smoke, and that causes me breathing issues. Both of these things aren't the hotel's fault, however.
