The most beautiful Borgo on a hill with amazing views of the countryside, very close to Grassia town and very quiet. All the buildings are old, made of stone and very charming. There is a beautiful outdoor pool, also with lovely views. The facilities were fine, not luxurious, but we had everything we needed. There are outdoor seating areas outside every property, where you can eat breakfast, dinner etc and enjoy the view and peace and quiet. The staff were very helpful and charming. A 15-20 minute walk down the hill takes you to the small town of Grassia, where there are some restaurants etc. You can take the bus from the town centre to the centre of Florence (takes around 30 minutes), which we found much easier than driving into the centre.

The wifi did not work in the first house we stayed in - but it was working during our second week when we had booked another apartment.

It was an absolutely magical place to stay. Out of the busyness of Florence and yet an easy public transport bus from grassina if you're happy to walk 15 minutes, or a 20 minute car journey if you prefer. This place was paradise, and the owners were excellent. I will return here again and I'd like to thank the staff for everything they did, I do not have a single complaint to make. It was picturesque, well run, clean and great value for money. Our day at the pool was a highlight

The location is beautiful very private. the views are gorgeous The house we got was big the beds we comfortable . full kitchen with everything necessary full Bathrooms on each room

We drove there and the roads a extremely windy and narrow ( two way) but we got used to. One of the rooms didn’t have a fan on the roof and the a/c was not working Bring your towels for the pool. The provided towels enough for the bathroom

The location was great! Near the city but in the nature. We saw roe deer in the field. The place is very nice and quiet, very well restored and organised, very nice to relax and at the same time close to the old town and all the sights of Florence. Our family was very happy with the stay at Borgo Battaia and we will definitely come back again.

The road to the complex is narrow and twisty, but being in the Tuscan highlands, this is to be expected.

The apartments were very traditional and spacious. The views were beautiful and the pool was lovely, again with amazing views.

To walk into Grassina was quite a walk, and upon arrival we found very little there. We then realised that we'd need a car to get around (we thought we could get around by public transport easily). The accommodation and grounds were lovely, but we found the town disappointing with lack of places to eat and shop.

It’s located in the countryside of Florence, surrounded by beautiful nature, peaceful and relaxing, a nice swimming pool; friendly staff.

It’s hot days during our stay, we wished the air conditions worked better; and without mosquitos.

Borgo Bottaia is absolutely incredible!! Such a charming villa created of beautiful old stone located in the rolling hills of Tuscany! It was EXACTLY what we were looking for for our stay in Tuscany! The views were INCREDIBLE... better than views that we had at most wineries and dinners! The pool, staff, everything was top notch and would highly recommend this place to everyone!

Peaceful location in stunning Tuscan countryside. Access to a pool. Access to Florence (20min walk + 25min bus journey). Fantastic traditional trattoria in Grassina.

Beds were uncomfortable and accommodation poorly equipped - electric kettle was too small and didn’t boil properly; had our doubts about the countertop oven when handle fell off, but didn’t actually try to use it.

Beautiful restored buildings, clean, good facilities. Short hilly walk into grassina with restaurants etc. Perfect for those who want a self catered stay in this fantastic location. Close 30 drive to Florence airport, many excellent surrounding hills , towns.

I was at the wonderful haven of Borgo Battaia for 2 weeks in October this year to do some writing and to explore. It has the most enchanting views and in person the whole property and surrounding area is just breathtaking. Luigi and the staff were just wonderful and helpful and engaging and I look forward to brining my family here next time! Grazie Mille Luigi!
