The hotel upgraded our room upon arrival which was so greatly appreciated as well as had our room ready within 30 minutes of arriving mid morning. Usual check-in is after 2pm so this was so wonderful. We got settled and then went on a tour of the Vatican and St. Peter's Basilica The Splendid also had a bottle of champagne chilled in our room for our Anniversary which we enjoyed that evening. How thoughtful. Everyone was so welcoming especially the doormen. Just a pleasure leaving and coming back to the hotel after long days of tours. Even took a last picture before heading to the airport on our last morning with Doorman Remeggio who was so proud of his Roman heritage and bellman Stephano. Damiano is another name to remember. Plus they were so proud to work at the Hotel Splendide Royal. It showed every moment we arrived and departed through the front door. A young man named MamaMo from Senegal welcomed us early in the morning with coffee and the biggest smile and so happy to see us and make sure we got a taxi for our tour to Tuscany. We were the only ones in the lobby and at the end of his shift, he couldn't have started our day off with a more positive attitude. I wish I could take the housekeepers home with us. Our room was immaculate. Plus the hotel is so close to the Spanish Steps, Via Condotti, Via Veneto. Talk about seeing and being seen and designer shopping to your heart's content. What a place to walk around day or night. It was an exhilarating experience. The area is so safe to walk around--as seniors we felt so secure everywhere. Just can't say enough about how wonderful everyone was and how beautiful the hotel is. It is definitely "Splendide"!!! Check out the rooftop bar and Michelin rated restaurant, Mirabelle. Views of the entire city and 5 star cuisine.

to try and find fault our room did need a little maintenance regarding a few cracks in the wall and scuff marks

The Breakfast was always a pure pleasure. We were mostly well taken care by Gina. We would suggest that you improve the way you serve the cereals. Kellog's bags like in a supermarket is not appropriate for your standards. There are better ways to serve and to enlarge a bit the variety of it. For the rest everything was fine! Let me add also the wonderful service and dedication to all our needs we had from the reception desk: Jonathan and Francesca!!! Lovely people and the made us feel being appreciated guests

Let me be frank in one point. The prices for the wines by the glass are really a bit overdone. We see that the location is exceptional and you serve nice small delicacies with it - and all that has its price, but.... ! Reconsider please.

Beautiful hotel with the best rooftop view of Rome. Close walking distance to Spanish Steps, shopping, Trevi fountain, metro, Villa Borghese, Pantheon and more. Staff are very friendly. The breakfast in the crystal room is top quality with everything you czn imagine to eat and the staff are welcoming and attentive.

The building is old so understandably there are a few dated characteristics. I think my room would have been top notch with new carpet, otherwise it was superb.

Although view from restaurant is wonderful, the breakfast is ridiculously expensive. Hotel is beautiful and in great location However, if you are going to Rome to be out all day and hardly be at the hotel - it’s not with the money as you won’t have time to enjoy the facilities.

This is a beautiful luxury hotel located in Monti, the area above the Spanish steps. It's near Villa Borghuese in an upscale area with many great dining options. It's just a 7-minute walk to Piazza di Spagna where all the designer shops are. When we checked in, we received a complimentary upgrade to a one bedroom suite based on availability, and we had no issues extending our stay when our flight was canceled. The staff is wonderful. I would definitely stay here again.

I liked that the hotel responds in the dialogue on the boqing. Because I had a delayed flight and they took my comment into account and checked my friend in early to her room without me being there. Also very pleased with the greeting at the entrance, the champagne and also the room upgrade. Overall the room, staff, cleanliness, everything was great. The hotel also provided umbrellas because we were caught in rainy weather

I didn't really like the breakfast, for the price offered. At first glance it seems to have everything, but on the whole it was not very good. Also the coffee was bitter. There are so many places in the neighborhood that serve breakfast that tastes better.

Gorgeous room! Friendly and helpful staff, except for the man in the night shift at the reception. Good breakfast.

The man at the reception during the night shift was rude when being asked questions. He gave us the impression we were bothering him. The next day, the manager apologized to us.

Wonderfull Roman opulent style hotel within walking distance of Spanish Steps and Villa Borghese. The rooms are spacious but the real reason to stay here is to have a cocktail at the stunning rooftop bar overlooking the whole of Rome and have a meal at their Michelin star restaurant also with wonderful views. The hotel managed to get us a reservation at the restaurant last minute but suggest you book ahead if you want to sit out on the veranda as it is very popular with locals.

Shower wasn’t great as over a bath, very slippery and water went everywhere.

Small Leading Hotel of the World in a nutshell. Gorgeous lobby and furnishings. Very comfortable beds and sheets. Excellent, very accommodating friendly staff. The lotions and products in the room top rated. Walking distance to the Spanish Steps, but still away from the noise of the crowds. The roof top bar is fantastic for sunset cocktail overlooking all of ROME is not to be missed. Jaw Dropping gorgeous everything.

i would have like a view from my room. Our room was lovely, but we faced a center of the building. but we only slept there so i guess it did not matter that much.
