Hotel Villa Pamphili Roma

We stayed for three nights and enjoyed it a lot. Rooms, pool, breakfast - everything was very good.

Location is a disappointment though - practically impossible to go anywhere on foot. The closest metro is 2 km away and it would be no problem to walk there, if the streets had sideways. Taxi is the only choice.

We liked the outdoor terrace which is surrounded by both natural greenery in further perspective of view and both very well kept local garden, flourishing installations of beautiful plants. Beds and pillows were comfortable, towels were white and fluffy. I also loved the scent and design of the toiletries.

Plastic cups in the room - seriously?! A big NO. Noise - poor isolation of outside noise. The hotel is located quite far from the centre, but we knew it when booking. We were seduced by the fact that the pool is still open(which is STILL advertised in the listing photos). Unfortunately, the pool was closed, so reason of choosing this hotel was not justified:(

Brilliant spa facilities and massage. The rooftop restaurant for dinner was excellent, as was the lunch. The shuttle service to the city centre was very convenient and great value for money. The suite was super value for money and huge! Great maid service and room service too. We had a great stay and would probably come here again.

We couldn't get sun loungers / shade at the pool. The breakfast was always a bit disorganised and messy (missing food/ plates etc and no one to find a table for you). So we ordered room service for breakfast one day but the selection was a bit random (I got toast but it came with no butter or toppings). We also had some confusion over paying for the spa and stuggled to find someone who understood what we were asking - apparently if you book a suite direct then the spa is free!

Good location, particularly if you are looking a hotel with space and a great pool, car parking and a little outside the hustle and bustle of central Rome. Good buildings and very well managed hotel with very helpful staff. It is not situated to walk into the city centre, you will need taxis, but they have them on speed dial and they come quickly. Ask for a room overlooking the pool if you want a view.

Our mistake not the hotel's, but we didn't appreciate the very spacious and nice room we ordered did not have much of a view. Also the via Aurelia Antica which the hotel is on is not a road you can safely or enjoyably walk down, although the gardens of the Villa Pamphilli (not the hotel) closely are large and open to the public.

Big swimming pool with enough sun beds and sunbathing area. The hotel has been reopened a couple of months ago after refurbishment, so everything is modern and new. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

Although located close to Rome city center and Trastevere, it’s just a bit too far to walk to the city center. It will require taking taxis back and forth. Staff is very helpful with calling taxis and they usually arrive within 10 minutes or less. Taxi drive to Trastevere (ideal for going out for dinner) will cost around 15€. There is a shuttle bus from the hotel but hours or not so convenient for families with children and there is a also a 5€/person fee.

it’s a little off the beaten track. bonus is that you’ll find nice restaurants without tourists

Absolutely great stay at Villa Pamphili during long weekend trip and first time visit to Rome. The facilities were excellent, modern, clean and super comfortable. Had the best sleep thanks to very comfortable pillows! Our room was as picturesque as seen on photos with a beautiful balcony and view over the pool and city. The breakfast was great and came with a variety of choices and barista made coffee. Will definitely stay in Villa Pamphili again when in Rome next!

I was hesitant at the start due to the distance of the city, but they have very convenient shuttle buses to city and back. Make sure to book the shuttles a day in advance to avoid missing out during busy period.

Staff were friendly and helpful.

This hotel has the feel of a holiday resort and can be quite crowded and noisy especially at the pool and for breakfast. Shuttle bus €3 has to be booked in advance and a charge of €20 for use of indoor pool. The breakfast selection wasn't great and food ran out far too quickly. Location is remote and far from sights but reasonably close to Vatican. Taxis were arranged promptly by reception.
