The hotel has a very special feel, I wanted our Venetian experience to be full on Venice style, not a regular Holiday Inn type room and that's exactly what we got at Ca'Amadi. Our room was on the canal, it was lovely to see the gondoliers setting up in the morning by the nearby bridge. Plenty of hot water and a great shower! The breakfast room is stunning with a balcony overlooking the canal. I loved the simple breakfast, fresh pastries, breads, fruit, nuts, cereals, coffee and juice. If you're into a large cooked breakfast, this hotel may not be for you! We loved our stay, thank you.

The hotel is tricky to find! It's near the Rialto Bridge, turn right just before a pale pink building, you'll see a confectionary shop on the right. Turn right alongside it, then there's a sign for Ca'Amadi on top of a restaurant, it's very close then. Make sure you get the codes for the doors. The staff are on the whole lovely, however the lady at breakfast looked like she didn't want to be there and wasn't particularly pleasant to us. It's a shame because this trip was special to us and I felt unwelcome by her.

Great location and so quiet at night. Beautiful and decorative inside. Comfortable beds and very clean rooms. It was lovely overall.

The breakfast opens a little late at 9 and it wasn’t great, just pastries and cereal.

What did I like? Pretty much everything. Service was good, and all our requests were handled efficiently and smoothly. I liked the room itself, it was quite large. I also enjoyed the location (except for some difficulties with leaving to the airport, but it's not the hotel's fault). It was also clean in the room.

I didn't like the breakfast. It was very limited. Additionally, please mind the stairs. There's no elevator, and you'll have to transport your heavy luggage yourself. I was with my mom, so I had to take care of 2 bags, which was a lot.

We were in a family apartment across from the main hotel and it was perfect for us. The location was minutes from The Rialto Bridge and in a good loacation for St Marks Sq, The Basillica. Breakfast was eur10.00 each and was adequate. The room was good, air con ok, shower pressure ok and the kitchen facilities were good if you were self catering. The second room was small but ok for the 3 days we were there for my daughter.

Nothing to dislike, but we couldn’t get in the gate once it was locked.. luckily I was in the room but my daughter couldn’t get in so had to call me to get up and unlock the gate.. this was only 11pm.. maybe trouble with our key. No shower gel in our room (oversight by cleaners).. thats it! Otherwise fantastic place to stay and I’d to back.

Location is excellent, close to Rialto Bridge. The room was big, the kitchen area was very useful but it would be perfect if it had a microwave. Nice room, warm, plenty of space.

The shower water could have been hotter (we visited in December). Also my advice is write to the Facility before arrival. We didn t receive the reception code in advance and there was no one at location. We had to ring for the owner who didn t answer. Luckily i wrote to them on Booking and we got the reception code where a key and info about our room awaited. So ask them for the code in advance, just to make sure there are no difficulties when checking in.

Svetlanna was a very nice host. We got lost as it’s a tricky one to find. Then when approaching you feel slightly concerned as it’s a little unkempt looking. However , Svetlanna is very welcoming. She explained how it’s a boutique hotel with only 7 rooms - all on the same floor as reception. We also got the gate / entrance codes and emergency contact numbers for when reception is closed in the evenings. Then we went to our room - it was huge , spotlessly clean , quite grand with a beautiful view of the canal and also new large bathroom. The only problem the first night was mosquitoes. We like to keep the window open so couldn’t and it was too warm. We bought a plug in mosquito repellent and some body spray and then everything was perfect. Great price . Don’t worry about first impressions walking in. It’s really ideal - good location, clean, very spacious family room, great canal view.

It looks unkempt when arriving. Especially as the laundry bags are being prepared for collection at front of house. A little clean up , some potted plants and a vase of flowers or potted plants at reception could remedy this making it more welcoming. However , once you reach your room it’s lovely , very clean, spacious, lovely Venetian decor and it is good value. Thank you Svetlanna! You are very nice!

The location in the heart of Venice - a few steps from Rialto - is fantastic. As was our room almost on water level with the gondolas and boats gliding past our window (cushions provided to sit on window sill and watch traffic ;-)) . This was the highlight of the hotel! It is the house of Marco Polo so in the breakfast aerea you feel like being centuries back. Wonderful. Cleanliness and space ok.

Only some smaller points: You reach the front entrance via a narrow, dark side alley. We didn't mind but some single travellers may. Not a negative, but to note: this place is not barrier-free - stairs must be navigated at least one floor up to entrance area. Very little interaction with staff, reception mostly not manned. Service at breakfast functional but not really attentive. Breakfast buffet ok but somewhat limited "Italian" (Croissant, a little fruit,; no eggs (blamed on Corona), no "hardy" options.) We decided to sleep with windows open - listening to the water... hundered bug bites later we learned it was very romantic but not a great idea.

Fabulous location and comfortable bed.

The shower overflowed quickly and water flooded the bathroom and almost flooded our room. We tried calling for help but the numbers we were told to call didn’t work. When I told the front desk person later in the day she said that this couldn’t be helped because all the drains were problematic in Venice. When we arrived the person checking us in didn’t welcome us or even try to talk to us. She just asked for our passports and processed us without trying to be nice.

Very close to the main sites, lovely Venetian style decor inside. Staff were pleasant and helpful.

There were builders in the street beside our window, who started working at 8/7.30 am every morning. No fault of the property, just was unfortunate. We couldn’t get the air con to work, however, I feel this is down to user error/not understanding how to turn it on! Didn’t bother us too much, we just opened the window to cool off

It is a beautiful, historic building with interesting details. Marco Polo's Home! The breakfast dining room opens to one of the canals. You arrive off one of the narrow streets in Venice. The courtyard is very pretty that makes up for the sketchy streets to get there. Don't give up or get anxious. Ca Amadi is worth it. Sadly, there is graffiti all around Venice and you will pass some to get here. AC works, breakfast is nice and reasonably priced. Beds are comfy and location is good. We enjoyed our stay!
