Basic room with a working sink (a surprising bonus) and large closet. A bit odd bedroom layout but comfy. The shared bathroom was new and very clean. You could hear other guests very clearly. Location is not central but is near railway station and by a very lively comercial street and the jewish old ghetto and a less touristy area of Venice. You need to go to a location 15 min walk away to get the keys.

The location was great- there were lots of restaurants/ coffee shops, souvenir and grocery shops nearby. Cleaning staff were there everyday keeping the place clean and the air con in the room was a massive life saver, especially during the heatwave!! We only noticed it on our second evening but there is a shared fridge in the reception area for all the guests to store some bits in which was cool, however maybe a little more advertisement about it would help? Maybe a note in the rooms or something about it.
It was annoying spending all day travelling to Italy, then travelling into Venice and having to check-in at another hotel first then make our way to this hotel. Last thing we wanted to do in the heatwave was drag our suitcases from one hotel to another. There was a bidet in our room which was out of order and although it's not something we use, it was a facility listed when we booked the room so maybe a notification beforehand that something in the rooms not working would be good. The price was a little steep too for the size of the room and having to share a bathroom but I guess that's just Venice prices.

The location was optimally situated in the heart of everything with plenty of restaurants and shopping no matter the direction we turned, we never had to walk too far for food and libations. The hotel was a bit dated but they had beautiful updated bathrooms and air conditioning in the 5 rooms we reserved for the group of 14 people we were with so there were no complaints. There is no elevator so bear in mind you will have to take stairs the higher up you are in room number, something to be mindful of when traveling with the elderly. I specifically requested a room in advance on the main floor for my parents which they accommodated. Our rooms comfortably fit 3 adults with a queen and a twin, however, I did notice the other rooms that were being cleaned by the staff were not as large, nor did they have a restroom. I had noticed a full bathroom on each floor (there's a total of 3 floors) and now I realize they were for the other rooms that did not have bathrooms in them. The cleaning staff was on site daily to tidy up the hallway bathrooms and maintain the building. Days that we were gone all day we came back to fresh towels and newly made bed. Overall,I think this place was a great place to stay though there are no bells or whistles to rave about, it gave upscale hostel vibes if I had to give a comparative description. Just be sure to let them know you would like a room with bathroom so you won't have to use the community bathroom down the hall. I would most definitely stay here again.
The hotel had wonderful updated bathrooms in the rooms we occupied and air conditioning. It was a comfortable stay overall, I would gladly come back here.

The facilities of the hotel, the room and everything is a good value for the money. Obviously it's not a 5 star hotel, but if you're a solo traveler looking for a comfy place with essential stuff, to sleep in, shower etc. it's a good option and a good price for the value. The bathroom (although shared with other guests) is very clean and renovated. Definitely going to book this place again! The Location is great, a 10 min walk to Rialto Bridge and a 25/30 to main attractions of the city, totally worth it to visit the city by foot.
The only downside I could think of is the absence of staff at reception, but if you know how to move in the city and explore stuff it's no problem.

Big room, modern bathroom. Quiet environment. It was nice that there were kettle and strong hair dryer. Cleaning and new towels each day (due to high humidity nothing is able to dry so new towels are nice to have). Great localisation near Piazza Roma and 30 min from Piazza San Marco which is huge advantage (less people and each day nice walk to the center). Perfect room for short stay. Near lot of options for breakfast panini, sweets, gelato or dinner. SPAR 2 min by walk.
Unfortunately the room has window for internal "chimney" so there is very less fresh air inside. That means it is muggy and smell a little musty. But ... oh well ... that is quite usual problem for Venice so nothing which can be fixed by hotel staff itself. Just take into consideration that during summer humidity is very high.

I booked accommodation about 2 months before my visit. I travel often (I have Genius 3 status on booking.com). The first thing - immediate information whether I need help/transport from the airport. On the plus side. I didn't need it, but it's not often that someone asks. As for the visit itself. Very clean rooms, super nice people who wanted to please us in every possible way. We were 6 people - 2 rooms. Everything perfect. The only drawback is that the shower is probably a bit too small (but manageable) and the lack of a working swimming pool for the first two days. However, for this reason we were directed to use the neighboring swimming pool very close to the beach - a very plus. Additionally, my father-in-law got free food from the owners - he was delighted with the local, home-made food. Overall rating 10/10. Additionally, my daughter left her favorite cuddly toy in the room. After leaving, I received a message regarding this and the cuddly toy was sent by courier. Overall, I can recommend it wholeheartedly - I haven't been so welcomed anywhere for a long time.
Everything was ok

A great location! Easy to get to and from both the train station and Marco Polo airport. Plenty of waterbus stops nearby to help explore the city and lagoon, and a good location to walk into the heart of Venice itself. No breakfast but very easy to walk to the nearby cafés and bakeries to buy yourself (possibly too many) delicious cakes and pastries.
The single bed was a bit narrow and the mattress felt a little insubstantial. You have to share a toilet and shower but this is very common in less expensive hotels in Venice (it's difficult and expensive to make significant changes to plumbing in Venice). If that's a deal breaker for you, stay in a more expensive hotel or on the mainland.

We had a very pleasant 3 nights in hotel Leonardo, during Easter holidays 2024. The room was clean, visually interesting, with a comfortable bed and newly renovated bathroom. Room no.2 is an excellent choice, situated on the ground floor, with the windows looking at the private garden. We didn't have any problems with the outside noise, from a nearby restaurant. Excellent value for money.
Nothing, apart from missing mosquito nets on the bathroom window, but there is antimosquito repellent device that you have to plug in an electrical outlet and turn on. We forgot that the first night, so we had a short skirmish in the middle of the night...

I am a single student who wanted to visit Venice on a budget-- Hotel Leonardo was the only affordable hotel option (where I'd have my own room), and I was a bit worried, but it turned out to be great. The room and bed are small and not fancy, but for the price, it is excellent. Comfortable enough, nice bathrooms, good location close to the Jewish ghetto and not far from the train station, and very friendly staff. There is even AC that works great. The fact that you have to check in at a different hotel is 0 issue, unless you are completely incompetent. There are some ancient reviews on Google warning of bed bugs, but I checked the mattress and room thoroughly when I arrived-- everything was clean and completely safe, no bugs. I am happy I chose to stay here for my 2 night trip to Venice.
It can be a bit loud so bring earplugs-- this solved the problem for me. The single pillow is a bit small and could be better quality.

A 5-10 minute from the main train station, at the intersection of 2 canals. The alleys leading to the building are narrow, empty, and not very well lit at night. However, the building can just as easily be accessed by ferry, which stops just next to the hotel. For those who prefer to stay at a more traditional hotel, take note that there is no reception area in this building. Check-in takes places at another location (a few minute walk away). You access your room with a code to the main door, and a room key. The folks at the check-in spot were very helpful.
