Great location. Good room size for its price.

I had to leave early but I wasn't able to purchase the breakfast for 7am when I checked in because too many guests had booked this timeslot whereas all the places (except convenience stores) where you can get food in the surrounding area open quite late, i.e. at 8am or later. The earliest breakfast time I could have got at the hotel was also 8 am. I was clearly and repeatedly told there was nothing she could do and to come at 8 tomorrow morning.

It is a small restaurant for providing breakfast for a large number of guests. To avoid crowdedness, guests are asked about the time they prefer to have breakfast. The food is tasty and the service is excellent. Also the staff at the front desk are friendly and fluent in English (one of them could be a native English speaker, I guess) so you won't have any problems while checking-in or out.

No view for my room as it faces a residential building. Or you may face the railway tracks, then it may be noisy.

Great location steps away from the JR Station. Close to restaurants, taxis, busses. We wanted extra room, so we reserved a twin bed with a family area. (a large space with tatami mats) Perfect! Plenty of towels and loved the "yukata" that were available for guests. Great laundry facilities available! Beds and buckwheat pillows comfortable. Did not sign up for breakfast because of all the other options available nearby. The hotel offers espresso in the lobby for their guests! Loved the staff, spoke English and were very helpful. Great value!

Free bottle water would be nice.

They offered an "onsen" pack with soap, shampoo, and a towel plus a wheel to randomly choose which of the many close onsens to go to next. The location is great, near the bus station, and there are locally drawn maps showing the Hells locations and other points of interest. The staff were very helpful!

The location was good, near the train station, but a little hard to find. Also, there are very few taxis in Beppu so we had to ask someone for help with the bus system. The Japanese-style room (ryokan) was ok, but we felt a little more wear-and-tear was present than we expected.

Staff were exceptional, very friendly and went the extra mile to help plan my stay. Loved that each time I went to an onsen they gave me a new onset set (e.g. towel, soap packets, etc) in the lobby so I didn't have to rent these at the onsen. They also provided lovely yukatas for night wear. Location was great, near the beaches and by the train station. It was also very quiet at night and I had a better sleep than at any of my previous hotels. Would definitely stay again!

It is a small hotel with a homely feel. The front desk staff was helpful and she speaks good English. The location is 5 minutes walk from Beppu train station, and in town center. The room size is reasonable, and the breakfast is adequate though the food selection is not abundant.

The road leading from the train station to the hotel does not have pedestrian walk way, but it is only a short distance and it is an issue for the road department not the hotel.

The staff here are so kind and helpful. It was nice to be welcomed by their warm smiles. The hotel is in great location, near Beppu station and is good for exploring the surrounding area.

The rooms are quite small and don't expect a view from your room. The hotel isn't well soundproofed and you will hear other guests. Of course, be aware you can hear the trains pass by this hotel (actually I quite liked this as it added a little character).

Conveniently located just a couple of minutes away from the train station and bus stop, with plenty of restaurants and onsen at walking distance. Other areas, such as the jigoku (hells), easily reachable by bus from the station. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a set menu but was good. Room was ok and the hotel has a laundry room (washing-drying machines).

Nothing in particular. Walls may be a bit thin if you have loud neighbours but that was not my case.

The hotel is a short walk away from the train station and very convenient to get to. I really appreciated the front desk staff for giving recommendations for ofuro and ramen places. They also provided a map which made it easier from someone like me who has never explored this area before. The room is compact but not unexpected. Simple breakfast prepared by lovely Japanese ladies who explained the spread before I started. Hearty and homely!

Loved the location, close to station, supermarket and especially onsens. The staff accommodated all my questions and everyone helped in a very friendly way. Having washing and dyer machine available was great. No complaints from me.

I laugh when I say no English subtitles on TV. In Australia I watch Japanese shows but can choose english subtitles. Missed not being able to watch and read captions
