JR Inn Chitose

Clean and comfortable and excellent location

Hotel allows you to choose the type of pillow you would like - there is a rack on display at the hotel lobby and you can just take what you prefer! Good choices too - e.g. down pillow, sponge pillow etc. JR Inn Chitose is very centrally located just next to the Chitose JR Station. There are two 7-Elevens just outside the hotel - very convenient for buying breakfast items which you can then microwave back at the hotel on Level 2. There is also an indoor hot bath on Level 2 of the hotel. There is free parking on site if you have a car. The room is very clean, about the size of other Japanese hotel rooms. Toilet is Japanese-size but very clean and well appointed.

Breakfast option at the hotel is very limited. There is a Yayoi restaurant next door to the hotel and connected by an internal door. From early morning, the Yayoi only serves hotel guests and it has a basic breakfast set menu for 900 yen. Price is ok but the set doesn't taste so good. Can try once but after that you may probably prefer 7-Eleven!

Located right next to Chitose railway station, it's great for a stay just before or after your flight (15 min to Chitose Airport by train). The room was super clean, modern, and nicely decorated. The staff are super wonderful, very friendly and kind. The hotel has all the facilities. Even an onsen that's included in the room price (which we didn't know, came as a nice surprise). The common areas, lounge and library are fantastic, great to get work done or to relax. Superb for solo travelers or business travelers. We had a very pleasant stay, it exceeded our expectations. clean and easy access to the train station. facilities and amenities in the room are enough to make the stay very comfortable. I like the selection of pillow provided at the lobby. With that, I was able to have a good night sleep since we arrived very late and had to leave very early. The lounge has many selection of books and manga with cozy seating area and coffee and tea but unfortunately I didn't have time to enjoy. We notice there are many JR Inn near many JR station. We sure will consider our stay in the future should we plan to stay near the JR station.

not much time to enjoy the facilities

The location is right next to Chitose's JR Station so it is really easy to find. The hotel is fairly new and very clean and stylish. There is a beautiful lounge/library on the second floor guests can use for relaxing, work, reading, etc. Free coffee machine is a bonus, too. And next to the lounge is a very nice spa/bath for relaxing (men and women separate). I was surprised to find these two facilities and used them often while staying in Chitose.

Nothing, as far as the hotel goes. Chitose is not really a town with much to see or do. It seems to be basically a bedroom town with a four-lane highway running through it with the same chain stores you'd see anywhere else in Japan. Proximity to the New Chitose Airport is probably why this nice hotel even exists here. We stayed in town because it was easy to get up to the Lake Shikotsuko area by city bus from the station (50 minutes ride).

This might be an Inn near the station (literally 20 m from it), but it was a delightful surprise. They had a public bath, an outstanding reading room and a lounge room styled all in wood, tasteful armchairs, and a free coffee machine. I loved the room was small but tidy and elegantly simple in white and brown. There was even a pillow corner so that you could add another pillow to your tasting!

I forgot my earplugs so sleeping near the train tracks and with the fridge noise going on and off made it hard to fall asleep. Also, the room setting when I came in was 23 degrees and it was boiling. After switching it on it still took longer to cool down enough to fall asleep as the blanket was a heavy one for winter. It was more my fault but check the temperature as soon as possible if you want to fall asleep quickly. Also, I bought the breakfast package, hoping it would be buffet style, but it was a selection between 4 set meals with a few free refills of yogurt, pickles, rice, and coffee. It was all nice, but a buffet option would have made my day,

Thank you to have put all the signs inside the JR Chitose station to get to the Hotel. I arrived very late, so it was very dark outside (i don't like the dark and I am alone) - Thank you for the many signs indicating how to get to JR Inn Chitose within the JR Chitose station (which exits, which side to turn...I just follow the signs). Also the location of the JR Inn Chitose is excellent (so close to the JR Inn Chitose - I could walk with my heavy suitcase to the hotel. VERY safe.

Our preferred option was to stay in Sapporo for the night, however hotels were heavily booked and the remaining accommodation expensive. The JR Inn Chitose was a fabulous find, conveniently located at the Chitose train station and only a 30minute train ride to the center of Sapporo, where we enjoyed the night. Welcomed by Incredibly polite staff. Comfortable, clean room. Very good breakfast. If you are traveling Japan, do yourself a favor and take a closer look at the JR Inn's located across the country. Very convenient and great value. The following morning we walked directly out of the hotel and straight on to the Limited Express train to Otaru, then local train to Kutchan. A great start to our Hokkiado adventure.

The rooms are clean and modern, better than many other same tier hotels in Sapporo / Chitose. Great value for money. My favorite is the lounge and public bath on the second floor. Location is convenient, right beside the JR Station. If you're looking to explore Sapporo, this hotel is a bit far from downtown, but it's meant to be near the New chitose airport.

The staffs aren't too fluent in English. Check out time is 10AM, which is really early compared to other hotels around the world. Rooms are a bit small, but functional.

Super convenient location, just 1 mins walk from the train station. Because I have to transit a morning flight, so I picked the nearest hotel with reasonable price. Chitose is closed to airport, 7 minutes by train and taxi to airport only cost around ¥1500 -2000. The hotel is clean, the size is good enough, the windows can be opened (that I like much). There are many restaurants around, walking around 10 mins. The breakfast is basic and ok...not to expect too much with this price.
