Great location with Canal City being about 2-3 minutes walk away. Nearest subway stop is right by the hostel and Hakata station is about 10-15 minute walk away. There is also a supermarket across the street. Coin laundry is like 30 second walk in the building next door before the Family Mart. Beds were pretty wide. Lockers were also of decent size to fit several bookbags inside. They also have hooks and a hanger on the walls for each capsule number.
- I slept in the 18-bed dorm. If you have a top bunk, it’s not easy to sleep before 10:00 or 11:00 pm because there is nothing covering the ceiling of the top bunk beds and the lights will be on, or people will be coming in and out and turning on the lights. - Cleanliness could be better. One of the sinks in the shower room always had hair in it and water did not go down quickly. Some of the showers also didn’t feel too clean.

The bed was comfortable and there was space for your belongings and even a small personal bag. The restroom and shower area was really good. The location was amazing too, the restaurant, convenient store, shopping street, subway, everything was close.
I was in Fukuoka during Golden week and additional Fukuoka festivals, so accommodation was very overpriced, so I can't say anything about money value. The room was a little bit dirty, and there was no drinking water refill/filter in the kitchen.

The location is very near to city subway Kushida shrine station but even if you arrived at Hakata Station walking to the facility is still very possible. I stayed at the women room, even though every room is only separated by plywood and a curtain you pay a little more for more privacy and more space compare to the dormitory one. They provide a desk, full body mirror, hanger, towel, and amenities in the room. I didn't get a chance to try the restaurant but you get 10% if you're a staying guest.
The women room is one big room divided into 5 rooms by plywood and there is only one central air conditioner, since my room is furthest from the aircon the circulation doesn't reach my room very well. I think it can be worse in the peak of summer.

The hostel was located very close to Hakata station which makes taking a train or even a flight very easy from there. The facility also has a cafe downstairs which is cozy. The people I met at this place were amazing and we could easily get a bus or a train from here to anywhere in Fukuoka. The bathrooms were really clean too. They rent out cycles as well.
The cafe downstairs is pretty overpriced. And I found the kitchen to be missing a few supplies like scissors or a fresh supply of glasses everyday.

- Check in was smooth - Events at the hostel (board games, meetup, etc.) - Close to the mall/restaurants/conbini/etc. - Staff was very friendly - Very clean - Very spacious
- One of the lockers I store my personal belongings got stuck but the staff were able to open it after a long time. Very professional and apologetic about the situation. Not the staff's fault for the locker being broken and didn't use the personal locker in the end because I had to check out early in the morning and no staff will be there to assist if something happens. Suggestion would be key locks instead of combination locks or making sure the lockers work. - Paying for a towel - Everything else, no problems. Love this hostel in Fukuoka and will stay back again.

HafH Fukuoka THE LIFE was a great hostel in the middle of Fukuoka and we'd highly recommend. The private room we had was spacious and came with our own private bathroom as well. The bed is very big and super comfortable. We really loved the breakfast too which we didn't include in our booking but ended up ordering almost every morning, so if you have to option we'd recommend including this. The staff spoke great English and were super helpful and always super friendly when we entered the reception/cafe area. The cafe would be a great place for someone who would want to work remotely from Fukuoka with great food options (as already mentioned) and good coffee too. The hostel is located about a 15 minute walk away from the bus/train station which for us wasn't a problem but something to take into account. You could take another local bus though if you didn't want to walk. We did really love the location though as there so much to do and see in the area. Perfect for shopping next door in Canal City, great food at the small Yatai or food stalls that Fukuoka is famous for and bus stops around the corner that can take you to other parts of the city easily.
It would've been great to have laundry service or machines inside but the staff actually walked us to one outside that was pretty nearby.

The private room was spacious, modern and clean. It wasn’t as noisy as some of the other reviewers had mentioned. The staff were able to help me extend my stay. The hostel is very centrally located right outside the subway station. There’s also a 24hr FamilyMart and grocery store next door.
The plates, knife and cutlery in the kitchen were sometimes misplaced which made them hard to find.

friendly staff, great location. however both toilets for the ground floor female rooms were out of order. this meant you had to walk through the glass fronted cafe to use cafe toilets, okay during the day but not very private at bedtime or when you first wake up 😣

Beautiful hostel to explore the vibrant city of Fukuoka. The hostel is reachable by foot in 10 min from the station. Everything you nerd is rights next to the hostel. Everything was clean, there's a nice café downstairs where you get a discount as a costumer. A lot of young people are around, I really enjoyed the atmosphere. The staff is exceptionally kind.... Everything was perfect. I stayed 4, instead of the originally planned 2 nights.
