- Many different baths are wonderful. Very hot water. - Convenient shuttle buses to Kusatsu and Karuizawa. - Noodles served as a night snack.

- Room facing a main road and a parking lot. - Dinner was under average if you compare it to other ryokans. - The hotel is large, be ready to share the baths with many guests on weekends and in a peak season.

It was a beautiful stay and our first experience at a ryokan. We were made to feel very special from the moment we arrived, until the time we checked out. The meals were lovely. Lots of interesting things to try for both dinner and breakfast and dressed in the provided yukatas. We loooooved our private onsen in our room and also tried two of the three private onsens on site which can be used by any guest pending availability. Beautiful views! The town is also lovely but be prepared for the sulfur smell from the hot springs!

Obviously it is a lot of money to spend per night, but I do believe it was worth it for the experience and we were made to feel that it was money well spent!

We had the perfect time in this Ryokan and we would highly recommend! The Food is very good and the whole Atmosphere is so nice. We want to say thanks to the Staff for all the nice and beautiful things they did for us! It was nice to be able to be able to adjust the temperature of the private Onsen in the Room, you can just add cold water if it's too hot. And I liked that you have to walk in Socks or barefeet in the whole Ryokan. You really let everydays life behind you after you checked in here.

Beautiful accomodation with room Onsen but use of private Onsens too. Comes with breakfast and dinner. These were ok, not as good as other kaiseki meals from other Ryokans.

There is a shuttle service from Karuizawa station to the hotel, we were unaware until we read a review. This would have been very handy but were never alerted, this saves time and money as the public bus is around 30 AUD one way. Also by knowing the pick up times you can time your Shinkansen trips appropriately

We booked the room with private onsen. It was superb! The room was real nice and really clean. There are a lot of onsen offered by the hotel, in-room onsen, public onsen, and 4 more outdoor private onsen with free of charge.

Everything was great except for the taste of foods for both dinner and breakfast. It took so long to finish the dinner course as they served each dish one-by-one. The main dish was not as good as it supposed to be despite the excellent services.

The scene, layout, design, building and overall vibe was great and as expected. The food was expected and pretty good! The breakfast was Japanese only which was not expected, but it was good. The outdoor baths were the best. The complementary buses to/from Karuizawa was great and we used it.

The food is a big reason why we paid to stay here and I think it could have been a bit better. The dinner specially; the breakfast was very good and I am satisfied with that. The wood tub in the room at one point filled out too hot so we had to wait till the water cools enough so it is not scalding.

The private and public onsen together with the one in the room were amazing, and overall the whole ryokan was beautiful with a gorgeous garden in the middle to enjoy after your bath. The mountain views fully complete the calm atmosphere. The staff was very friendly and attentive with us, and always helped us with anything we needed. The shuttle bus from and to Karuizawa is a great bonus, plus hourly rides into Kusatsu, to Yubatake bus station were very very convenient.

Everything was Excellent. The facilities were immaculate, the staff were very polite, and the location was perfect for a remote trip into the mountains. Getting there was a breeze with clear access to public transportation. As a foreign traveler, less people spoke English than other parts of Japan, but this should be an expectation of traveling to a remote location.

It was perfect. My partner and I had an excellent time and there was not a thing that could have been improved.

I loved the Japanese-style ryokan. It was very spacious. Lovely meals and complimentary treats were everywhere. I also loved the outdoor private onsen. Free shuttle services. Accommodating and friendly staff.

I found some rubbish under my bed. The onsen facilities were a bit dated.

Great facilities. Female & male onsen swap on each day, so that we can try different onsen. The outdoor onsen is beautiful. They offer free ice pops and Yakult at the common area so that you can cool down after onsen. Rooms with balcony and private onsen are wonderful. Shower is hot enough. Overall cleanliness of the room is good.
