Comfort Hotel Hiroshima Otemachi

The location was great - very close to the Peace Park and Hondōri St for shopping, and an easy trip on the No. 1 tram from Hiroshima Station. Our room (a twin room with 2 beds) was quite big by Japanese standards, and comfortable. The bathroom was a decent size and the shower was great. Also, everything was very clean. A breakfast buffet was included, which was quite good and we used the coin-operated washing machines and dryers (very handy).

The beds and pillows, like almost all beds and pillows in Japanese hotels, were a bit too hard for our liking.

The location of the hotel was near the tram (Chudon-Mae) and near many of the sights of Hiroshima City. The Peace Memorial Park is about a 10 minute walk from the hotel, the shopping malls and arcade are nearby, and there are a lot of local restaurants surrounding the hotel. The amenities were spot on, comfortable bed, toilet and bathroom, and good breakfast.

If you are in a hurry, the elevators in the hotel are really slow. Also, because of the height, it might take a while for the elevator to reach your floor and you are better off just walking down.

We chose this because it was near the Peace Park and shopping, dining, etc. We caught a taxi from Hiroshima station as we were tired and didn’t want to bother going to Shin-Hiroshima then the subway. It’s too far to walk to. The rooms were great and there’s breakfast thrown in. It was really quite good, with a bit of everything and enough for us. It was a very comfortable hotel. Heaps of convenience stores nearby. To go to Miyajima from here you can catch the subway to Shin-Hiroshima. It’s free to Miyajima if you have a JR Pass for the train and ferry. There are lots of places to eat around the hotel and the hotel staff were very helpful in recommending places to eat. We went to Akamaru Izakaya (heading towards Hondori subway station) and it was superb. A lot of fun, English menu if you need it and very reasonably priced.

Friendly staff - was no trouble to hire a bicycle for the day. Breakfast was good value given the variety of food available. Great location less than 10 mins walk to Peace Museum/Park, and only slightly further to the A-bomb dome. Quiet despite the very central location.

Quite expensive compared to other hotels I stayed at - although I suspect it was due to the Hiroshima Flower Festival which was held the weekend I stayed. It wasn’t made clear to me when I checked in that breakfast required a ticket for a specific time. Also, when I did enquire, the staff said I didn’t need a ticket, so I went in and it was very busy. I’m not sure how many people are actually getting breakfast tickets, which makes the service quite crowded, and seems to defeat the purpose of the tickets.

the staff spoke good English, were very proficient in their work. although breakfast was packed, they handled the breakfast service very well. the food as always is consistent (having stayed several nights at their other branch in opposite end of japan it’s amazing how consistent it is) good hearty options that caters to 5, 30 and 70 year olds. beds were comfortable and room was very clean as usual.

We had to drag our luggage quite far to get there. But as we planned to visit Miyajima and peace memorial park, the location was perfect for these sites. Lobby at L3 and not L1 was a tad inconvenient too.

Great location (walking distance from the Peace Museum), solid North American continental breakfast--it's still Japan, but this place had good scrambled eggs, offerings of cereal and granola, fruit, good bread & pasteries. Smooth self check-in process & luggage storage services. Consistent Wi-Fi connection. This hotel had humidifiers in our room which was a nice bonus.

Mattress and pillows in our double bed room were still fairly firm, which may be the standard in 2-3 star accomodations in Japan.

Breakfast was great, and very crowded. The staff were friendly and helpful, the location was also very nice and close to the Peace Memorial Park.

It can't be helped, but the first two floors of the building don't belong to the hotel, so reception is on the third floor. Expect to spend a bit of time waiting on the elevators or taking the stairs.

The breakfast included everything you need. The location was excellent. Close to the Oeace Park and many restaurants. Close to bus or tram to the Station . I loved the foot pillow!! Staff were very helpful.

The bathroom was so incredibly tiny you couldn't turn around. I couldn't have a shower for the 2 days we were there as i couldn't climb over the high bath tub and there was not even enough room to swivel in.

Loved this hotel, the location is unbeatable, we walked to the Peace Memorial museum and then to A bomb dome, the area is very lively and we saw many event during our stay (Oktoberfest being one of them). They offer services like free bike rentals, coin laundry, free maps. 100m away from light rail station.

Maybe it would be nice if they had more bikes for rent. Cant really think of anything else.

Great location, with bus & trams stops just outside. Easy walk to the Peace park & Museum. Standard size Japanese rooms ( a little smaller than Europe) but very clean and equipped with everything thing you need. The buffet breakfast was included in the price and was fantastic with lots of choice. Staff very friendly & helpful. Great information leaflets by reception with instructions on how to get to major attractions.
