This was the second "The Knot" hotel we stayed in on our trip, and along with the one in Shinjuku, this place well exceeded our expectations. We booked these as "budget" options, but the facilities, location, design and layout of the rooms of the hotel felt anything but cheap. We had a triple room, and although it didn't have loads and loads of space, it didn't feel cramped. The rooftop bar and reception on the 14th floor is gorgeous, and the Knot dollars given on arrival were a fun and clever way to get you to spend some time and money there. The staff were all super friendly and helpful, especially with sorting out luggage forwarding on the day we left. We didn't get the chance to sample the restaurant, for breakfast or dinner, but on Friday evening it seemed to be very popular with both tourists and locals. Location wise, if you're there as a first time tourist, you'd struggle to find a better option. The Peace Park/Museum/Dome are a short and pretty walk away down the riverside, as is the jetty to catch the boat to Miyajima. I can also recommend Okkundou Mazemen nearby for a great meal. Turn left out of the hotel doors, second left and it's on the right. All in all, an exceptionally good hotel.

The place is hip. There's an excellent Italian restaurant on the street's level (connected with the hotel) - we had amazing dinner there. The location was great for us - 5 minutes walk to the peace museum, and from there we took a direct fast ferry to Miyajima island and back. Staff had wonderful attitude. There's a bar on the 14th floor, its nice to chill there. Room itself was very simple, but nothing was missing. Excellent shower with very strong water pressure. Enjoyed it a lot.

The panoramic room has unobstructed city view. It can be in any of the floors, and our room was on the 7th floor (out of 13). Not very high, you can hear the tram or an occasional police siren. When you leave your luggage it is not always locked in a room, they just put mine by the bar. Not very safe. If you stay more than one night they will charge you around $21 to clean your room. That's outrageous and absolutely strange for a hotel that by all other means is a solid modern 3.5 stars.

Nice modern room with a good layout that made it roomier. The bed was soft while being firm and had several pillows to choose from. Very close to a tram stop (which does get a little crowded, so you may want to get your luggage delivered or get a cab) as well as the Peace Park and Museum I loved the bar and it had a great atmosphere. A great hotel for couples or friends travelling together

I had to leave early in the morning, and currently they are not offering a buffet style breakfast (due to covid I think). Instead you can order one of two options. I didn't get to experience the food because I was booked for an early train. It would have taken too long as you have to ordered and then its made fresh. While fresh food is great, I wish they had an earlier opening or you could order the night before. If you do stay here allow yourself the leisure I didn't, and get the later train!

Twin room was relatively spacious. Outstanding rooftop balcony to look over the city, the hotel provides you with 'knot coins' - I think it was 3 per night of your stay per person and these can be used for snacks and drinks at the bar. We were able to have 2 cocktails with those. 5 minute walk to the peace museum and restaurants. Approximately 10 minute taxi journey from Hiroshima station. Hotel has a coin laundry available.

There is a kettle in the room but no tea available, you need to pick up drip coffee packets in the lobby so they are provided but worth remembering! There is nowhere to unpack your clothes other than a small bench (ended up putting suitcase on this as otherwise nowhere to put that) There are signs for vending machines but none to be found. There are 3 lifts but they are pretty slow to arrive.

Toilet is seperate from shower so was easier to juggle. Ample space for luggage and coat hangers by Japan standards. Lifts were plentiful. Room was clean. The hotel is located centrally like other reviews. Take the tram 1 from Hiroshima station to chudan Mae tram stop (there's a bus if you have no luggage etc). Overall easy to get around from here. The knot coins for exchanging during happy hours (2pm-11pm) are great. Don't listen to all the other travellers complaining about the coin system and the fact that the receptions on level 14 (and not ground). It's not rocket science. They just didn't come prepared. There's a pre check in form to do and if you do that you bypass that form on ground floor and go straight to level 14 via lifts. Simple. Other travellers should take more accountability for their lack of planning. The knot coins are also free. They give you 3 coins per night stay. We got 12 for 4 nights and for 2 adults and one infant they luckily gave us 3 bags full! Two coins per tapas style jar at front counter. Otherwise their are soft drinks from 3 coins to 4-7 coins for most alcoholic drinks and cocktails. 10 coins for a nice Japanese whisky. This is all free. So I don't get why again other travellers reviews bag the coin system. This is the only hotel that's given us free coins and drinks and the fact is it isn't that hard to use them or work it out. So again all the other travellers are just whinging about what's quite simple. Enjoy your stay. I thought it was a nice hotel relative to other simpler Japanese hotels. Also enjoyed that they were very responsive via booking.com messaging platform to questions compared to other hotels. For anyone wondering yes they accept luggage delivery /forwarding so you can send your luggage here using Yamato transport etc.

Nothing particular I could think of. Perhaps slightly bigger cups for drinking but scraping the barrell here.

Location is great being located close to the Peace Memorial Park, tram and a bus station with multiple buses to Hiroshima station. The hotel room itself isn't much to write home about but it's clean and comfortable. There's a roof top bar that you can use your gift tokens on to get a drink and a snack while enjoying the great view. I saved the best for last - The highlight of everyday is the breakfast which is made-to-order salad + eggs, baked beans, a fluffy pizza "turnover" bread and sausage/bacon. The bread goes so well with the sunny side up eggs so definitely order that set.

The toilet is a little small even by Japan standards. You may face some issues if you are on the big and tall side of things.

Really modern rooms, nice and clean. The rooftop bar was gorgeous and you had one drink and food item as part of the booking per person which was a nice touch. My partner and I tried the resturant downstairs and although it was Italian and on the higher end of cost, it was by far one of best Western food we'd eaten even back at home! The location was nice and close to the peace memorial park and an easy walk able distance to the shopping strip. Oveeall, we were sad we only had 3 nights booked here

The check in was on the top floor and there was a section downstairs for amenities which was handing but at times, the amenities weren't restocked so would have to make a trip to the top floor. The laundry facilities were small and dryers weren't that great - we ended up finding a laundromat close by to finish off our washing

We loved our stay at The Knot Hiroshima. The location of the hotel is very accessible to many of the places of interest in Hiroshima, and it is just a short, easy trip from the train station by tram or bus. Our room was very clean and had everything we needed - plus the added bonus for us was that our room was light and airy with views of trees and trams from windows - very quiet, and the beds and pillows were super comfy. The staff on reception and bar were very friendly, efficient and professional, and on arrival we were offered welcome tokens to exchange for drinks and snacks. There are fabulous views of the city from reception, bar area and rooftop deck, with comfy indoor and outdoor seating to relax, socialise and enjoy the views. A big thankyou to all the staff at The Knot Hiroshima for helping to make our stay so enjoyable!

Beautiful roof top balcony and bar great views at night and a lovely place to sit. Large room very comfortable king size bed with excellent linen and a lounge to sit on. Good large bathroom with bath and a laundry on another floor all washing machines are loaded with washing powder so no need to bring your own. Centrally located to everything with a tram virtually outside the front door and in walking distance to all tourist attractions. Restaurants everywhere you can have dinner for 2 people including drinks for around $40 AUD.

The pillows were terrible very hard and square. The towels were changed each day and the bins emptied but the bed was never made. Poor selection for breakfast in the restaurant.

The breakfast was very nice for one or two days, there being only three choices, but for a 5 day stay, there needs to be at least two further choices. It became boring, sadly.

I did not like the Knot Coin idea at the roof top bar. Simplify things and just provide a free drink voucher on arrival. It will save your staff counting out all those tokens. Also, the snack-in-a-jar idea at the rooftop bar was cute but frustrating. It was hard to get the food out of the jars, especially the crisps. It's a frustrating gimmicky element to what is a very cool rooftop establishment.
