Incredible location just across from the Hiroshima Peace Park and museum, and the main shopping and commercial district. Very well managed and organized with efficient check in, its easy to drop bags and get on with the day. The common area and kitchen is well equipped. Plenty of room for bags away from the sleeping area, lockers for valuables and lots of sinks and toilets on each floor. Sleeping area was fine, private, clean and comfortable enough.

Can never control the people who stay, so had one night which was completely quiet, then next night a noisy couple banging and talking loudly until the early hours. The lockers backed onto the beds so constantly banging locker doors can be irritating but most people have the sense to not do this. Wifi for some reason would drop in the late evening to a virtual halt, but fine the rest of the time.

The common spaces are in a different floor from the shared room and it has laundry, tables to eat and work, tv, fridge, microwave and other facilities that help you with your daily basics. The receptionist has a fluent English conversational skills, so do not worry about the language barrier. She was super nice and she let me park my car in the hostel parking lot for free because she said the parking lot around were very expensive and recommended us a delicious Hiroshima style Okonomiyaki 5 minutes walk from the hotel. Very nice service from her.

It is a hostel, so you expect to sleep in a kind of capsule, but sometimes the room temperature was not cold enough. However, you can sleep perfectly fine!

The staff are so kind and want to make sure you are looked after. I arrived early to drop off my bags and they let me check in then and there. Their English is incredible too. It is a 1-minute walk to the peace memorial and 15-minutes to town. The capsules are very dark and comfortable, with a little shelf, allowing for a good night sleep. There is plenty of luggage storage space (with locks) and a locker that can squeeze in a bulky backpack. There is a bank of sinks in the sleeping room with a good amount of counter space, as well as two counters in the shower room. The staff brings you a fresh hand towel each day, too! The kitchen is well equipped and there is free coffee and tea. The living area has lots of games (both video and board).

I didn't like having the shower on a separate floor as it takes some organisation, but I understand the use of space. Outdoor slippers for going between floors would have made this more convenient.

Very affordable and good value hostel for the location - right across from the Peace Museum and Park (you can see the sign from there!). The lady at the front reception and an older lady were very sweet and helpful, and spoke perfect English. Limited toilet cubicle per floor but never had an issue with needing to wait. Nice warm toilet seats on bidet! Each dorm bed had a nice large shelf above the head to put all of your things and a powerpoint. Daily face towel (small) provided.

Dorms were a bit on the older side, was handy to have sinks in the room but could get noisy if people were using them late in the night. Would also be handy if the dorm/main room light was sensor so the rooms can be darker at night, rather than having light coming through the dorm bed curtain. Showers are on a different floor to dorms which is a bit inconvenient to get to, especially when the weather is cold.

What a great place! Facilities are top notch. I booked a shared down to actually see that there was a door between the 2 areas, dividing males & females. Common areas were then shared for everyone. Beds were spacious and comfortable. There is a whole floor dedicated to kitchen / living / dining area. The kitchen is fully equipped and you can make your own meals anytime. Bathrooms are clean and so are the shower. Amazing shower facilities with powder room. There are also washing machines and drying machines (working with coins, 100JPY). The lady running the hostel is incredibly sweet and speaks really good English. The hostel is located a few hundreds meters from the Peace Memorial Park & museums. Hiroshima train station is a couple of bus stops away and the bus stops about 200m from the entrance. I would definitely recommend this hostel to anyone visiting Hiroshima!

Hostel Mallika was an amazing place to spend a few days in the lovely Hiroshima, the location is great, quiet, the building is easy to locate. All the amenities included, showers are awesome. The place is super clean and the customer service is helpful and efficient, quick answers when you need them. People were very respectful to each other, and although the capsules are as you expect small, they are very comfy. The people allowed us to leave our luggage after our check out, which helped my back a lot. Big thanks for that. Close by this is a popular restaurant to try the famous Okonomiyaki.

The only weak spot is the side of the towels, a bit small specially for someone tall or women's long hair. And the TV remote control needs a replacement.

Great location just a few steps away from the Memorial Museum. The pods are comfy, warm, and super private. The mattress could be better and the duvet cover is annoying since it doesn’t really cover the inside part and it keeps coming off all the time. Bathroom was okay and the shower rooms are great.

The amenities really need some update. The whole place looks like an old office turned into a hostel. It’s comfy, but very uninspiring. For me the common are was a turn off. It really looks like a eating area of an boring office. Lots of tables to eat, strong white light bulbs (which is a bit disturbing) and there’s no place to seat comfortably, like a sofa or armchairs. If you get early and need to wait until check in, it’s a very uncomfortable area to wait. The kitchen, though, is really good, spacious, and well equipped.

This is a great hostel if you want to save money. Great value. The facilities are great. Big kitchen and good communal space. Which also with the main bathrooms/showers are separate from the living quarters which is nice. The dorms are nice and chill and quiet. Just the hum of the aircon. The beds are comfortable enough for what you pay and being tall I just fit. Naiomi was a lovely host to welcome me in and spoke very good English which was a nice touch. Being just a 2 min walk to the peace park was an ideal location. Near good eating spots and a Lawson just across the street. Definitely recommend this hostel if you're in Hiroshima.

The pod got quite warm during the night (which is fairly standard) and the air-conditiong seemed to heat up during the night. But you do get a small fan in your pod. Would've been nice to be able to turn the main dorm light off during the night.

Friendly staff, knew English very well, great location for the price, convenient check out procedure. It's a great place to stay definitely recommend for a budget friendly option

The biggest thing is that, while the location is great for the atomic Bomb Dome, Peace park, and Miyajima Island ferry. It's a little far from downtown Hiroshima, I had no idea there was a festival on until I had to leave. That's on me though, if you're staying for the history of the area, it's great, and you can still catch a bus downtown

Location was incredible - step outside the door and see the peace park immediately. Check in was very easy and the lady was very kind & showed me where to go. They offered to keep my bags even before check in & after check out. It was the perfect location to do everything I wanted in Hiroshima while only staying for 1 day. Walking distance of all the main areas and close to bus stop too. Bed was very comfortable and showers were great. Kitchen with multiple hobs and fridges, so very good for a longer stay

Toilet and shower areas were often dirty - wee on the seat of the toilet and hairs in the shower. Not the hostel's fault just a reminder to travellers please be aware of your own mess and tidy up.
