The hotel provided many little touches that made our stay extra special. Eg. Welcome snacks, yummy udon for supper every night, hot & cold drinks that we could help ourselves to. The bathtub & shower were such a treat, especially since the hotel allowed us to select our own bath salts. The rooms were clean and quiet, and the hotel was located just minutes from the Omichi Market and had lots of food options & malls nearby. The staff were all so friendly and made us feel thoroughly welcomed!

We had a wonderful stay! It was a little hard to find the hotel at first as we were driving. The road in front of the lobby looked more like a pedestrian pathway & the words “Hotel Kanazawa Zoushi” were really tiny on their signage. But once we found it, we had no issues and loved it’s location.

When we checked in, we were warmly welcomed by the staff, offered a sweet snack and presented with a selection of bath salts to choose from. The lobby has complimentary drinks (coffee, tea, cocoa, juice, etc.). Beautifully decorated rooms, comfortable beds. Free drinks (beer, non alcoholic) in our room, as well as a kettle and teas and coffee. The hotel offers noodles each night for supper. We stayed on the night of 1 January 2024, the day there was a large earthquake in the area, and felt many aftershocks overnight. The staff were calm and reassuring throughout. We were especially grateful for the noodles for supper as there was no other food available anywhere in Kanazawa due to the quake.

We had a non-smoking room but could smell cigarette smoke in the hallway outside our room.

What a delightful hotel/stay. All-encompassing, friendly and professional service from arrival to departure - including a range of free drinks in the lobby and room, Japanese sweets and a seat while check-in was being processed, a comforting bowl of complimentary udon each evening (served on attractive lacquerware), and a rotating breakfast for each day of our stay. The little bag of Japanese crackers with a hand-written thank you note on our departure was also a nice gesture and was appreciated. Decor and general ambience in the expansive lobby and our room were both lovely, and we liked the in-house clothes we were given. Location suited all our needs well - being around a 10-minute walk from Kanazawa Station, and close to Omicho Market. For those willing to walk, Oyama Shrine, Kanazawa Castle grounds, Kenroku-en garden, and the preserved samurai (Naga-machi) and geisha/entertainment districts (Kazuemachi/Higashi Chaya) are all within striking distance.

Room was on the small side - particularly in regard to fitting large suitcases (which we thankfully didn't have), as others have said - but it was a clever use of limited space, with nice decor (as noted elsewhere in our review). Price was a little on the high side, but overall reasonable given the level of service and range of complimentary beverages/evening bowl of udon that were on offer. For us, we certainly got what we paid for.

Excellent location, elegantly decorated, original and charming establishment (modern but classic), outstanding service, and staff. Truly deserving a five stars rating for the accommodation and exceptional service. The best among all the properties (4+ - 5 stars) that we stayed during this trip. All the details and amenities of the room are first rate, and the service is just outstanding. For example, we were pleasantly surprised and honored that the staff even left a bag full of water and drinks replacement outside of our door on the day that we requested for no room service. In summary, the hotel is comparable to small, unique, and exceptional boutique hotels of the world for us.

Smaller room, size wise, in comparison to western standard of course since we are in Japan. But otherwise all the amenities are present, efficiently placed and of high quality.

Great location just beside the Omicho market and a short walk to all the attractions. The staff were extremely attentive and they offered complimentary ramen and drinks. The check in and check out was extremely smooth and easy, and they gave a small handmade gift bag with snacks for the journey. The room was very nice, with beautiful design leading up to it. Shower and bath were very large with good pressure and hot water. Room was very quiet and comfortable. Overall just a great stay, and incredible value for the price. It spoiled us for the rest of our trip as the hospitality was much better than even hotels that cost 4x as much. If you’re visiting Kanazawa, you should stay here.

If you want breakfast, make sure to book ahead of time as they may not have space to accommodate later.

Out of all the hotels we stayed at during our Japan trip, this hotel had the highest level of customer service. Right from the check-in we were warmly greeted with a traditional snack and some tea. We stayed in a quiet, lovely room on the 3rd floor that was perfect for us. The bath was a highlight and at the check-in you get to choose a bathing soap which was a nice idea. The hotel offers a free dinner (Udon soup) which was very nice. There's also free coffee and drinks throughout the day which was also great. Regarding the location, the hotel is perfectly located - walking distance from the train station and right near the market. The Kanazawa castle is also easily reachable. What impressed us the most about this hotel was the customer service of the staff. Even as we checked out we received a small gift with our name. These gestures are appreciated and noteworthy.

The only thing we didn't like is the Japanese breakfast, which is something that we struggled with in general throughout our trip in Japan. My feedback to the hotel would be: - Let people choose between a Japanese breakfast and even a basic, continental breakfast - Inform the customers about the dishes- often there was meat or fish (was unclear) and that's not something we are used to eating at 8:00 or 9:00 am. My advice would be to book this hotel without breakfast and just get it from some of the fantastic cafes in Kanazawa.

Our favourite hotel we stayed in, in Japan. So much care an attention was taken at this hotel to provide an outstanding experience. Truely exceptional! Incredible, friendly staff who take the time to get to know you. A complimentary stocked drinks fridge in the room, delicious udon noodles in the evening, cozy pyjamas, a welcome tea - there were so many thoughtful extras. The hotel smells amazing, and is very clean and modern, with some lovely traditional accents. The room itself was very spacious, with a really comfortable bed, and a huge walk-in steam shower and full size bath. Don’t hesitate - book this hotel! So glad we had the opportunity to stay here.

Absolutely nothing. A wonderful stay!

WOW what a great place! Service: We arrived a little earlier so left our luggage with them. When we came back, bags had already been taken up to our room. We were greeted with friendly staff and lots of much needed complimentary snacks after our journey. A lot of amenities were provided for free i.e. coffee/drinks in the lobby. When we left the staff gifted us with a small pouch of snacks and a hand written note. It felt very special. Location: Great location within walking distance from the station and to all the attractions such as the market and the castle. Room: Was beautiful! Spacious and suited our needs. Would recommend anyone to stay here if staying in Kanazawa!

Nothing - it was perfect.

Excellent location near Kanazawa Station and Omicho Market. Lovely staff who were friendly and helpful and made us feel welcomed and special. The room was well-configured with various storage space and surfaces to place our personal items and the decor was modern and charming. The bathroom was really nice and the ofuro tub was just big enough for two. Everything was very clean and it was quite quiet. Highly recommend if you want to experience an intimate and relaxing environment in the middle of the city.

Nothing.

Boutique style hotel with a cosy Japanese entrance, just off the main road about 10-15 mins walk from the train station. Nice little common area by reception where you can get free drinks, tea and coffee, and sit and chat. They also serve free ramen there in the evening. The hotel has about 30 rooms (just an estimate) and much less of a corporate feel than the other hotels we stayed at, which was a welcome variation. They give you bath salts and a dango snack on arrival. We had the family room which was quite small for four with luggage, but perfectly adequate for the couple of nights we were there. The rooms were immaculate with a nice timber floor and all the Japanese vibe. Well located for exploring Kanazawa and there is an organic cafe next door which will do vegan and vegetarian as an fyi.

Nothing to say. It was great.
