December 2024
Nice and quiet place, small hostel with only one floor with bedrooms. It was very clean and I got a new towel everyday. The showers and changing room connected to it were spacious and had a clothing rack. Since it was December, they also gave another fleece blanket (very soft and warm). Everyone was respectful of the quiet hours.
The hostel's location is not the best, it is only really close to the Toji Temple. You will have to wake up earlier if you want to be the crowds at popular sightseeing places. The dorm room is small, around 1m maximum between the beds where there is no ladder, and ~3m in length, so if people are packing at the same time, it will be a bit tight. It is also easier to hear people snoring. The stairs are also steep and not really wide so bringing up my luggage was a bit difficult.

The interior is really well made, great attention to detail. It was very clean and well prepared for our stay. Since we arrived quite late we didn’t get to meet any of the staff, however check in went very smoothly, we had no issues whatsoever and loved coming back to our little home after full and exhausting days of exploring Kyoto! Thank you!
The location is not ideal for travelers, as it is located in a residential area, however it’s calm at night and amazing value for money. I can’t complain and would stay there again, but if you are looking for a very central location to start your day, you should keep this in mind.

It’s very beautiful and very quiet. it has a great kitchen (though missing a few essentials like silverware and coffee cups). Terrific showers and bathtub. extremely comfortable beds!
A little far from the train stations but we liked being away from crowded tourist zones. Cold in January. Room heater and kitchen heater were great but hallways and bathrooms were icy. we honestly didn’t mind that much but just a heads up to future winter travelers.

Cleaner hung out our clothes so neatly when we left them in the machine accidently. Beautiful spaces, bedroom and very good beds. Excellent private bathrooms and toilets. Upstairs rooms all cleaned well, although not daily. Neigbourhood was so quiet and very interesting to walk around with many old homes and narrow streets. Communication was easy and friendly.
Kitchen was not all that clean and there were only two mugs for coffee /tea. However, I consider this a bonus as it was otherwise well equipped. Were not expecting a kitchen so it was all good!

- cute, cozy and small hostel - really comfortable room with the softest bed covers - nice kitchen with basic equipment - bus stops nearby
- there was never any stuff around (but you were able to contact them via whatsapp or booking.com) - as I wrote before, this hostel was very cute and a nice place to stay, but I found it a little bit too expensive for what it was at the end

Great shower and bath rooms. Well decorated. Well located.
There was no trash bin in the room. The duvet wasn’t warm enough (and I/we didn’t want to leave the AC on the whole night). Maybe there could be extra blankets in case some would need them? I also wasn’t able to find mugs in the kitchen. Plus, the freezer could use a label; I froze a box of eggs by mistake thinking it was the fridge.

Great facilities. It was totally beyond my expectation, the house was all renovated and pretty, the facility was also new and good condition. I was suprised what I got by the price. Thank you very much!
All the towels were not totally dried, quite wet so we didn't take shower. The share bathroom was not clean due to other customers.

The rooms, shower and toilet room were all in new condition. We did not use the kitchen area, except to eat our take away, but they seemed to have all needed to cook a meal. Very quiet place and neighborhood. AC worked very well during the warm days we were there.
It's a little far from the train stations (25 min to Kyoto main station and 15 min to smaller station, Nishioji), but that's only an issue when getting your bags to and from on the first and last day.

The hostel is very clean and comfortable. The room was beautifully decorated with indigo accents. The bed, pillows, and bedding were excellent. The host is very friendly and was welcoming and helpful. I did the indigo dyeing workshop offered and was very pleased with the experience! it is one of my best memories of Kyoto.
It’s almost 2km from Kyoto Station but it’s an easy walk. By adding a few extra blocks, the walk takes you past the Toji Temple and pagoda. It’s also not far from Suzaku Garden, which is worth a visit.

Amazing overall experience. Comfortable room, good AC, amazing shower (honestly made the trip haha) and located in a nice quiet location but with easy access to the rest of Kyoto via bus. Check in and check out was a breeze too! Highly recommend.
Nothing! Honestly an amazing experience overall
