The location is just next to the train station, and also near the bus stop. I met an intern ( I remember her name is Ms. Kurogawa) when I checked-in, she talked with me in very fluent Chinese after she realized I came from Taiwan; That was very surprising me. The other employee also speak good English or Chinese so I think it's very considerable for foreign visitors. Their breakfast and dinner are great that I would like try again next time. The recreation rooms, sento, and fermentation plant are worth spending time if you just want take a relax indoor. In a brief, this is a nice place!

Beautiful space to spend time in. Looks exactly like the photos. Staff were super friendly every and so lovely. The extra spaces (reading room, play room, snacks room) were such an excellent and unexpected addition to the Potel. What a thoughtful idea. Breakfast was delicious. So much to chose from every day. We are from Australia so it was wonderful to enjoy a Japanese breakfast each day. Also lots of vegetarian options. And Mochi for breakfast 😊 And pyjamas + slippers in the rooms. I loved to see many people wearing these to breakfast; which meant I could wear slippers and feel like being at home.

There wasn’t much hanging space or storage for our suitcases in our room. I think maybe the larger rooms didn’t have some. It would have been good for the restaurant to have a more extensive menu (with vegetarian options); especially considering their amazing breakfast options. We really wanted to try it our but couldn’t.

The hotel is one train stop from Kyoto station, nestled in a park with an aquarium nearby. Dreamt of swimming with dolphins. Family Mart is just a minute stroll away. The train station can zip you to Arashiyama in around 15 minutes without any transfers—a must-visit spot. The hotel is tidy, new, and has a modern yet laid-back vibe. They've got a public onsen, but it's a tad small and often bustling with kids. Got complimentary beer, wine, and coffee—a first for me in hotels. Hoping more follow suit. The room boasts a patio, but it was a bit chilly to hang out. Spacious enough for four full-sized luggages, and the separate sink, toilet, and shower are a nice touch.

Embodying a contemporary atmosphere both inside and outside, the hotel surprisingly caters to families, resembling a lively scene with kids everywhere. It can get a bit noisy for couples seeking a quieter setting. The breakfast was delightful on day one, but by the second day, it got a bit dull as they served almost identical dishes with just a few tweaks.

I absolutely loved this hotel. From the design, the staff and the amenities it was really well done for a 3/4star hotel. It was a perfect spot for a few slower days in Kyoto for us after 1.5 weeks traveling Japan. We stayed in the wood box room which was so comfy and cozy and slightly larger than most japanese double bedrooms. It was cool that it was a touch of traditional japanese with slightly raised platform beds, but also had western features. The free drinks/coffee snacks were all also a great touch. The hotel is a bit far from like downtown Kyoto, but 20 minutes via train or less via Cabs which were all pretty reasonable. Would definitely stay here again and recommended it to anyone.

Location doesn't have a lot of restaurants or nightlife close by, but it was perfectly fine for what we needed.

Loved the location, the park next door was quiet and beautiful and filled with cute dogs. The proximity to Kyoto station without being in a busy part of the city can’t be beat. Especially since the train is so easy to get to from the hotel. The rooms are huge and clean and comfortable. The cafe was great. The hotel is very family friendly.

The lack of a bathtub in the rooms isn’t ideal. The breakfast is very costly for someone who doesn’t really eat breakfast. Unless you’re going to gorge the price isn’t justified.

Hotel faces a park and is vey near to aquarium. Subway station is nearby and is 1 stop away from Kyoto Station. Starbucks is close by too. The room is spacious, and beds are very comfortable. Breakfast is varied and plentiful.

We arrived late and check into our room only to find 2 toothbrushes and no drinks. We needed hot teas as we had travelled 4 hrs from Takayama to Kyoto Station and then took a taxi to the hotel. Later we had dinner and ordered wine at the cafe on the ground floor. This was unfortunate as the wine was available as BYO. It was only on the 2nd day that we found the location for the free beer, wine, juices and snacks. There were free toileteries at another location. We simply used our own. To get to the public baths, we had to climb down several flights of stairs. We gave up on this too.

beautiful and well designed hotel in a quiet and convenient location as it is only a few hundred metres from Umekoji train station and next to a lovely park. Within 5 minutes walking distance there are 3 convenience stores. Hotel provides free coffee, beer, wine and a vinyl music room to relax. Location is a $20 taxi ride away from major attractions such as Higashiyama and Philosopher's Walk way.

Laundry station also provided although only 3 units are available, as machines are combo wash and dry it takes along time if one chooses wash and dry cycle.

I love the free alcohol beverage session from 3pm to 10pm daily with free flow of red wine, white wine, highball, and beer with some snacks.. really a big plus points for this hotel, and I also love the shower in the room..

The choice of food in the cafe was limited. Perhaps if you could have more food variety, that would be better. And the taste of the food was also average, could be better.

Loved the outlook over parkland and Tijo site, plus watching the trains going past in the distance. Great coffee shop and staff. Nice little hidden restaurants and attractions close by. Close to train station with one stop to main Kyoto station

A little further from major tourist attractions but plenty to see and do locally.

The facilities were INCREDIBLE! Loved all the games, books and music as well as the free beverages and snacks. The public bath and fermentation factory were big bonuses.

The TVs in rooms only had access to local Japanese channels which we couldn’t understand (English speakers), so would have been great to have access to Netflix or other streaming services.
