Price-quality perfect match. No reason to look for any other place to stay around Kyoto station. The best option definitely. Yes, there is no breakfast but you have own bathroom and inroom toilet, great double bed and everyday change of towels. Believe me, there is no other similar options near Kyoto station with this low price (except of Hotel Excellence Kyoto Station Nishiguchi from the same owners).

Hotel is a 5 to 10 minute walk from the train station, one block from the Aeon mall [supermarket inside]. Google maps sometimes confuses this with similarly named hotels. Take the west exit from the train station, turn right, past the book store, watch across the road for the Aeon mall [set a half block back]. Cross the busy road and walk to the mall, turn right onto the lane just in front of the mall. The hotel entrance is at the end of the block on your left. Clean and comfortable.

Free breakfast was not worth the trouble; a slice of bread, coffee/tea and instant noodles. Better to borrow a kettle from the hotel and purchase breakfast items from the supermarket or shops in the station.

Reasonable price and the room is quite big for one person. Amenities is available as well. Location is great. Very near to aeon mall and just 5-6 mins walk going to the station. Staff are approachable.

We stayed 3 nights but they did not be able to clean the room. They only replenish the towels and sleeping robes, and the garbage everyday. Eventhough we already put the "sign" outside the door to clean up the room, they still did not clean up. We wished they could change the pillow cover or even the blanket because we stayed there for 3 nights. We will understand if they don't clean it up if we stayed only for 2 nights but we stay more than that. Eve

This hotel is in a great location as it is not only within 5 minutes walking distance to Kyoto station but next to Aeon Mall which has a good selection of reasonably priced food stalls AND also Daiso and ABC Mart. The breakfast was also great and filling to start the day and the rooms were comfortable. Will recommend this hotel if you are making Kyoto a base to travel around Japan.

Breakfast starts only at 7am - could have been better if they can start earlier for travelers, like 6.30am who may be making longer trips like Hiroshima/Miyajima to catch the 7.20 Shinkansen as recommended.

The staff were very friendly, polite and helpful. I was told there was no room cleaning for fewer than three nights but there were clean towels, night dress and a new toothbrush set outside my door. I was pleasantly surprised that there was a night dress in the bed and a hair dryer in the room. The bathroom was a good size. The air conditioner worker well. I liked that there was a small night stand, electrical sockets by the bed and by the mirror. The self serve breakfast was also a nice surprise.

The room was smaller than I expected but actually perfect as I didn’t stay in the room much.

Location. Its near Aeon mall and Kyoto station. Room. Perfect size for a solo traveler, bonus is the tub. Good for soaking a tired body at the end of the day. The picture in the website is the actual room. Pretty spacious if you know how to manage your things. I brought a big and small luggage plus I shop daily and yet I still have enough space to move around. I will definitely book this once I go back to Kyoto.

Unfortunately, I had a hard time finding the hotel because the address was given to me by message but I only tried getting there by the Booking address, so I ended up in the wrong place which was quite far :( So the room is very noisy because of the street hustle all night long!

Hotel Excellence Kyoto Station Hachijo is well located just a block and a half (less than 5 mins) from Kyoto Station making it very convenient for traveling around Kyoto. I arrived early, before check in time, but I was able to leave my bags at reception, so I could go out and start exploring Kyoto right away. The room was small but very clean, had a selection of basic amenities, and more available at reception on request. There was a basic breakfast set-up coffee/tea etc. on the first floor, but I didn't make use of it. I was able to borrow an electric kettle for tea in my room. There is a konbini across the street with a decent selection of the usual offerings. There were plenty of places to eat at the station also for reasonable prices. All in all a good place with good location at a good price!

The hotel has a very good reception service, my room was very clean and offers a good, basic breakfast. The location is very close to Kyoto station, next to the Aeon shopping mall, where there is a large supermarket, and very strategic for public transport to the famous tourist attractions, and it is even possible to walk if you are willing to reach some tourist attractions. I recommend the hotel and would go back again.

The hotel location is great👍, near Kyoto station, and big shopping centre behind the hotel!! The room is comfortable, clean & quiet. I get the water pot from the receptionist. I am lucky that the view from my room is facing the mountain side, can see the house & trains passed by not far away, enjoy the view in the morning whole having ocha. The staff cannot speak English well, but with Google translate think should be no problem for most of the conversation. Please note that they might ask whether you need to clean room everyday or 2days to clean the room. As I am not a messy person I requested for 2days to clean the room, but the housekeeper everyday will still change my towel & pajamas. 🙂
