price quality corresponds. I took a room with a double bed, since I am long, but there would be enough space for two, no need to sleep diagonally. (height 195). daily change of towels, high-quality cleaning of the room. good bathroom. everything you need for an individual trip. nearby is a train station, many cafes and restaurants. used this hotel as a point from which to get to all the surroundings of Kyoto. windows overlooked the railway tracks, but the noise did not bother. normal soundproofing
translate the air conditioner remote control into English (as you translated the TV remote control). Overall, it was easy to figure out, but it was a bit inconvenient.

I really like the location, it is just 5-6 min of walk or around 500m to Kyoto Station (JR Line). I think the Osaka Metro line outside, so you need to walk arpund anlther 100m. Near Aeon Mall. There's Family Mart & Lawson. I was also able to buy winter coat in a Book off store across the street. I stayed for 3 days & doesn't include room cleaning, so I was supposed to put my used towels each day outside the door for replacement. But I always forgot, so every night when I go back, there's the pack of clean towels hanging in my door. They have free.amenities like toothbrush. And I didn't know they also prpvide free breakfast (7-9am) but they have a coffee machine that is free & open all day. They also have elevators so no worries with you big luggages
It's not really about the hotel.I arrived around 11pm in Kyoto Station & not sure if it's because I didn't know if there are other exit, but the exit shown in google maps, part of the Porta Mall is already closed, so I exited at the back of Kyoto Station, near Nidec tower, and if you go through that path, it is a bit longer. I always got lost inside Kyoto Station. So my landmark is the Avanti Mall, Keihan Bldg or Aeon Mall. Those landmarks are on your left side when you are walking towards the hotel. Also the space is just right for my size, as a 4'11. But I think if you are much taller there will be little space to move around esp for your luggage. But for me, I am ok with that

I had a wonderful stay at Excellent Hotel! The ambiance truly captured the serene vibes of Kyoto, making it a relaxing and enjoyable experience. The location is incredibly convenient, with both the train and bus stations nearby, as well as a convenience store just around the corner. One detail that stood out was the quality of the shampoo and soap provided – they smelled amazing and felt luxurious. I also appreciated how generous the hotel was! Guests could always take essentials like toothbrushes from the lobby, and the free coffee machine available at all times was such a nice touch. Small details like these really made my stay special. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and well-located place to stay in Kyoto!
While I enjoyed my stay here, there were a couple of things that could be improved. First, I noticed that the windows would always have condensation due to the shower heat, which made the room feel a bit damp at times. It would be great if they could improve the ventilation in the bathroom. Another issue was that only one pillow was provided per person. It would have been much more comfortable to have an extra pillow available for better support and a good night’s sleep.

This location greatly exceeded my friend's and my expectations. The room was spacious, the beds were warm and comfortable, and everything in the room was very clean.
During my stay, I spoke to 3 staff members. I found all of them to be pretty unfriendly. They did their job, but seemed unhappy to do so and when I needed things repeated or explained, I felt pretty brushed off as if they were not willing to say things more than once. My friend went downstairs to ask for water and was told the only water available was from the vending machine. It turns out there was a small open kitchen around the corner with tea and water right there. If it wasn't for the room being so much better than expected, I would rate the place lower.

The staff are nice but would be more helpful if they can speak English. The location is good, short walk to the train station, but a little hard to find. There’s AC everywhere in the hotel, unlike other local hotels not having AC in the hallways and elevators that makes it super hot n stuffy in the summer. The free breakfast is modest, but convenient and good enough for morning rush.
The rooms are extremely small and not clean, smells like mold and damp or wet rot. No English instructions, remote and controller devices are all Japanese labeled that make it very inconvenient for tourists, have to use translation app to read them. Hotel entrance is kind of hidden, hard to find. Put up bigger signage or direction signs would help a lot.

Location location location. It's tough to get closer to Kyoto Train Station. The room was tiny but ergonomically perfect - clearly a lot of thought has gone into optimizing space. I found I had everything I needed by just rolling over! Also, you might think proximity to train tracks would make it noisy, but the window blocks out all the noise and I had a great night. I actually enjoyed watching the famed bullet trains quietly glide below my window every now and then.
The room was cold and it took me a while to figure out that the AC also works as a heater. Once that was sorted I was fine.

The bed was very comfortable. The staff were friendly and were able to answer my questions even with my bad Japanese and using google translate. The body wash and shampoo had a very nice smell and the water pressure and temperature were great in the shower. Also the location is nice just a short walk from Kyoto station. It also has a few convenience stores and restaurants nearby if you want something nearby quickly.
While overall the room was nice and tidy, there were a few spots missed in cleaning. Such as heavy dust behind the TV and a few spots missed under the desk on the carpet. Also it took the shower room a long time to dry out even leaving the fan on overnight. That isn't a very big problem, but might cause discomfort for some people. Also the mini fridge was a bit on the small side and made keeping multiple water and drink bottles difficult and it also didn't get as cold as I personally like.

walking distance to kyoto station, convenient shops, restos, mall and mostly tour booking meet ups were in the station. so far, this made my travel easier. room and toilet were clean. they changed towels everyday but ifor me i used the used once except the one for face. i love everything during my 3nights stay with comfy bed and quite. room size was ok for me as a solo traveller.

Very modern facilities. Small rooms but very comfortable and cosy. Simple breakfast with coffee included Next to train line but this did not bother us.
Staff ok but could be more helpful. Would not call a restaurant to make a booking for us. I felt asking for anything was a bother to the staff. Not much info on things to do in Kyoto was available

the room was super spacious ! I have enough room to open my luggage and organize my items ! There was also a large enough side table to put things down and I appreciate the vanity mirror ! If you need refills , they are available on the front desk. It is very close to the Jr station. Aeon mall, a ramen place and of course convenience store !
The curtains are not long enough so the sun shrine through waking us up earlier than planned. But we just have to sleep the other way to avoid this problem lol. Staff communication isn't the best, but we managed thanks to Google translate. They do have a machine to check out which was nice. they do not have a washing machine but it's not a huge problem.
