Beautiful old dame, fantastic and professional staff. The room was also quite sizeable for Japan even though it was a twin, and made for a comfortable stay.

No safety deposit box in the room and the hotel room key was an actual key with an enormous tag so it had to be dropped off at the front desk each time. However it's part of the old school nature of the hotel so it just comes with the territory.

a typical Japanese business hotel but SUPER clean, things are just right, wooden furniture. everything is comfortable, not modern in its design, but super "just feel right" every machine is functional, the air conditioning is quiet enough, the bathroom is super clean. well maintained you can feel this is a hotel that really cares and does good service for a reputation (not just a chain business or rip-off money). location is also good- close to the subway and center, but relatively not so touristy.

I have no idea why the hotel is rated only 3 stars. For me it was 5. The room is relatively small for Europe, but nothing was missing in it. All the equipment a guest needs, including a refrigerator. The staff is very kind, helpful and provides maps with an explanation of the attraction. On the ground floor is a very good Italian restaurant, with reasonable prices. And a Japanese restaurant too. The subway station T08 is 3 minute walk only

The pilllows are weird and they charged for the Kyoto Osaka Tokyo accommodation tax, which we didn’t know until we checked in, would have been nice to know before booking but it wasn’t expensive tax

Room is good- very business Japanese but very clean and comfortable and somehow make people calm (maybe because they use a lot of wooden stuff) I really like the atmosphere, the service and also the interior of the hotel. the price is sooooo good to stay in such a central location

The location of the hotel is very good, with easy walking distance to the main attractions. The rooms were clean and well equipped, however one of the rooms was so small that it was difficult to store our luggage. The staff were friendly and helpful.

I appreciated and enjoyed seeing smiles on the faces of the reception staff when I checked in. Besides, I was pleased with a kind manner and words presented by a room maid whom I asked to make beds and clean the room on the second day of my stay.

A desk light or lamp could be brighter for a guest like me, who has to write or keyboard for relatively long hours. The room lights could be adjusted, too, for relaxation and a comfort.

Outstanding location. Very kind staff. Very clean. The room is small for Occidental style but perfect for Japanese one. Very comfortable in my view. Excellent hotel for the relative cheap prize.

Amazing value for money. Very clean and comfortable. The rooms are small but well thought out and practical. The people in the lobby are very friendly and helpful.

The warm welcome by the reception staff as usual and the cleanness of the room we stayed. We were satisfied with its location very convenient for us to go around the city of Kyoto.
