The room was very spacious. The bathroom is well organised and spacious too. There is a great sitting area on tatami. Soft pillows and blankets. Downstairs you can use washing and drying machines for a small fee and the quality was outstanding. You can’t find better location in Kyoto if you are a tourist. On top of that the staff kindly accepted our luggage from a delivery company few days before we arrived. And when we checked in our big backpack was already waiting for us in the room :)

Great location! Metro station, great supermarket, convenient store, iconic cafe and shops are all around in five-minute walking distance. An extremely comfortable room with great moderately firm mattress and cozy tatami area, bathroom’s nice with a bathtub and strong hot water. Air purifier and air conditioner work well. Towels changing and garbage gathering daily, housekeeping every three days, washing machine/ ice machine, microwave and amenities supply are on the first floor. Nice modern Japanese atmosphere and friendly helpful staff, definitely recommend it.

None.

Exceptional in every way Comfort, large rooms, perfect location, wonderful shower, amenities like washing machine, microwave, ice. Quiet, but steps away from everything. Found a great deal, beyond belief value price for quality Great shopping and cafes at 5 mns walk, museum, train, walk to Gion, best area..a real neighbourhood feel.

Loved everything , but a strange odour, think from new Tatami mats in room which some may find a little noticeable, very minor compared to the amazing overall experience

Our room has a wonderful sitting area that was so incredibly nice. Being able to stretch out, set bags aside, and walk freely without stubbing toes was definitely a plus. Splurge for the extra space, especially if you've just come from a hotel in Tokyo. You'll thank yourself later. The staff here was very nice - even going out of their way to try and help me navigate the Japanese Postal System. They lent me some tape for a box as well, so extra points to them. Post office was about a 3 minute walk from us and the nearest station probably an easy 5 minute walk as well. It was a relatively quiet street, but less than 10-15 min walk away was a massive shopping area. Definitely enough to see and do in the area.

Great Value accomodation. Spacious rooms and cute location on the back alley ways of Kyoto, quite cool shops around, hipster vibes. Staff were very friendly and the rooms were very very clean.

We paid a good rate for this room so I assume that was reflected . We were on the bottom floor, level 1 and there was no natural light as the window was against a wall and it was abit depressing having to have lights on in the room in daylight to see.. it felt like a dungeon or basement , and the smell of the new tatami mats were abit much at first but we got used to it. But once again, value for money so I understand .

It was a straight walk down to a family mart and directly opposite the museum of Kyoto which is only „600 if anyone’s interested. I chose the tatami room which was very very spacious and the sunlight hitting the tatami was so nice. The staff were so accommodating, I kind of stressed myself out about my health and the person at the front desk went above and beyond to reassure me. As well as that I had another staff member help me when my blinds were stuck. Continuing, when it was raining they had these really durable umbrellas for you to use. It’s also just a 5-8 min walk from the train station (depending on how fast you walk could be even less) so that was really good for me when I accidentally overpacked during my stay đŸ˜«. Last but not least Teramachi street! It’s like a 5 minute walk away and had lots of things you could do it’s honestly so good for its location. Look out for the red banners otherwise you might miss the hotel it blends in very nicely. I attached a photo of the bathroom but it’s much bigger than that my camera can’t take a picture of the whole thing. Toilet and shower/bath were separated for those coming w friends you can use the bathroom at the same time as both the shower and toilet had locks on them. Wow that was a lot 😼‍💹.

When I first came there was a smell at first I thought it was like a smoking smell but tbh I think it’s the bean bags. BUT a staff member helped me function the dehumidifier so by the next day or so the smell had cleared.

I stayed here due to a short-notice change in plans for the Gion Matsuri, and this hotel was in a great area to go to the Yoiyama as well as the Yamahoko Kunko the next morning. I got one of the cheaper rooms which said something like "no sun light" at a pretty great price for a central Kyoto four-star. As always, they are strict with check-in times, but I was able to leave my luggage and retreat to a nearby cafe to escape the heat. My room on the ground floor had a window but indeed minimal natural light - but that was said in the room description. So I had to have the light on in the day, which, in July with high temperatures, didn't bother me much. Room was large, with the comfiest fluffiest beds. The Japanese seating area was lovely, too. It was quiet despite being so central and I slept well. Bath was huge, even with a tub. It's quite a small hotel so there was no communal bath. All in all, a lovely classy stay in one of Kyoto's most central yet quiet areas.

There is very little to complain about. I had one Nespresso capsule for my morning coffee, another one or two would have been nice. The reception area is quite small, so there is no lobby to speak of, but since the room has lovely seating, it was fine for me as a solo traveller.

Really great hotel with a good location. The bathroom has a separated bath and shower for a typical Japanese experience which I really liked. The toilet are separated too The tatami part is really cool and comfortable. The beds are comfortable but the pillow are a little too hard. It’s a small hotel so you don’t have to wait a long time for the escalator and there are stairs. The neighborhood is great and not too far from the river if you are doing an evening walk

You can’t see from the windows sadly.

Clean bedrooms with fresh sheets. New, spacious facilities. A large bathroom area. Modern design. Eco-friendly. Easy to use the laundry room on the first floor.

Unsure about the staffing. There was never anyone standing at the front desk, and only about half the time did someone come out from the back when we came in. I was happy that there was a bathtub included, but upon filling it up I was horrified to see multiple strands of hair that were not mine. Safe to say that I didn't enter the tub for the duration of our stay. Although the facilities themselves are nice, I'm a little wary of the management.

Everything about this hotel was PERFECT. In a very quiet alley, walkable to Nishiki market and the shopping area. We loved staying in a quiet neighborhood away from the hustle and bustle of the market but still having the option to walk to sightseeing locations. There is a FamilyMart convenience store nearby as well as plenty of really good Japanese food options too. Staff were extremely kind and always willing to help. The rooms were beyond comfortable, quiet, and really luxurious in a traditional Japanese way (if that makes any sense). The neighborhood is super safe (we walked back to the hotel at 3am after a long night out and felt completely at ease). Only one laundry machine is available on the first floor and you do have to pay in yen coins or switch bills from the front desk. Best part about the hotel was the bathroom-- there's a tub for a bath, standing shower for those most used to showering, AND a life changing bidet.

Front of the hotel is easy to miss but just look for the blue 24hr Parking sign and the front of the hotel has a navy curtain that has Rinn Sanjo Takakura written. The trash can were small so when we had larger takeout foods we needed to dispose of, we brought them to the front desk on the 1st floor.
