I was looking for a luxurious hotel with Kyoto touch, cozy, away from the buzz yet easily accessible. Totally happy about my choice. All the staffs were friendly and helpful. There were 2 gardens surrounding the premise with an open view, one of them outside the restaurant where we had breakfast daily. Breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented. The room was cozy and fresh, overlooking the temple afar. High quality toiletries, beautiful tea set and well stocked drinks. The indoor flower arrangement in different corners of the hotel was tasteful and warm. It was also a pleasure to take a stroll in the quiet neighbourhood, where places like Nanzenji and Kyoto Kyocera Museum were accessible on foot. There's a bus stop right outside the hotel where we took the bus directly to the Arashiyama district. We really appreciate the professionalism and hospitality of all the staffs, especially Mr Shinkawa who greeted us every morning to make sure we were having a good time.

Lovely comfortable room. I love the location of the hotel as it is quiet and not centrally located where there are lots of tourist. That said it is not that far from the central of Kyoto.

There’s no room service.

Nice room for 3 people (we were upgraded to a 45 m2 room). Friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast (served at the table, no buffet). Quiet location, just make sure to tell taxi drivers to take you to Hotel Okura Okasaki Beitei, as there is another hotel Okura downtown Kyoto.

The restaurant only offers set menus (quite good, but expensive). You can eat à la carte in the lobby, but they've got a fairly limited choice. A bit far from the city center (but at least it's quiet). Staff wasn't able to help us buy shinkansen tickets.

Service, room, Japanese breakfast and dinner were excellent. My wife mentioned that it was my birthday and I was left a very sweet message in my room. We purposely chose this location to be away from the more busy areas of Kyoto. Logistically, it worked perfect. There is a grocery store across the street. Taxis were easy and convenient and we were also able to walk to the Philosopher’s Path and other areas easily.

excellent facility seating on a manicured Japanese style zen garden landscape

my room was facing a main street, window isolation needs to be improved, a bit noisy in the night when cars drive by

Everything about this hotel was impeccable. The quality, simplicity, service and especially the beautifully appointed room - modern Japanese design elements and the attention to detail is second to none. Great location as within walking distance to all the beautiful temples and shrines, philosopher's path etc. The guest relations personnel paid attention to every detail including helping to recommend and reserve restaurants. Ms Masumi Sakamoto and Ms Tien Nguyen were exceptional and I thank them for taking good care of me.

I really can't think of anything here.

Fantastic hotel all round. Bit pricey but we decided to splash out. Service was as good as it gets. Very attentive staff and manger first rate. Nice setting slightly out of city, just 10 mins by taxi. Breakfast was table service and beautifully presented. Bed 2as huge, maybe too big!

Breakfast was limited in choice and I prefer a buffet. Japanese breakfast was extra. Don't know why!
