The Japanese style room was relaxing and had enough room for our suitcases and us. They had slippers and robe to use in the room. They did have pajamas if you wanted to use. A large closet for clothes. We did lay out the futon for something besides the low chair to relax on, chairs were comfortable as well. Appreciated the water, coffee maker and tea. Clean. The staff was very helpful setting up a cab for a tour not near public transportation and then for getting to Kyoto station. We did not use the public bath or get the breakfast so cannot comment. Many nearby restaurants and shops and next to train stations. Great location.

Other pillow option would be nice

I enjoyed very much my stay at Village Kyoto, a modern ryokan, in a typical japanese room with tatami and futon! The atmosphere is magic! The staff as well, very helpful. The position is perfect, 1 min walking from 2 different local railways, and several buses, very easy to go everywhere in Kyoto. The main JR station is not that far by bus. The place is not too much touristic, thus you can live the real city! Breakfast is typical japanese, maybe a bit unsual for western people, but is is OK! There is a public bath, onsen style, I enjoyed every night! Great!

It was a very clean place, the staff were nice and hospitable. The staff were very clear to understand in English even with a language barrier. We enjoyed having to leave our luggage while we went and explored Kyoto. If we are ever back there, we will go back to Hotel Village Kyoto. I enjoyed the coffee machine, and the room atmosphere. The mattresses and blankets were comfy and warm.

The pillows could have been more comfortable (did not like the bead pillows). We wished we could have enjoyed the full onsen.

I liked the location, the staff and their onsen, which was smaller than I expected but good nonetheless and relaxing. The room was better and bigger than I expected and it was really easy to get everywhere from our hotel.

It didn't have big-sized pyjamas/kimono for the onsen available for larger people. Also, it must have been a bit dusty because my friend had an allergic reaction after sleeping in the room.

Nice Japanese style room, but with modern facilities. Futon beds are comfortable to sleep on because tatami mats are quite soft; staff prepares your beds every night and puts them away in the morning. Onsen is decent for a city center; high quality shampoo and skin care products, Dyson hair drier, etc. Free ice cream :) Very well located, right next to a subway station, bus stops, very close to shops and restaurants, and about 20 min walk to Gion.

Honestly, can't say anything bad

The hotel was very clean, staff was friendly and helpful. We liked the bath so much, it was like a wellness for your body after a day long sightseeing and city tour. The location of the hotel was also perfect, we needed only 3 minutes to get to the bus stations, and could reach to all the attractions by bus. Convenient stores were nearby, where we could buy whatever we needed.

We enjoyed the stay here with the Japanese style Ryokan for which they provide. I did not use the Onsen due to having tattoos and respect the culture not approving of them. The staff were very accommodating and food delivered to the room was great. Even though it was a Japanese holiday, the staff really went out of their way to help us foreigners...

Wifi was pretty slow but I brought an extender and plugged it in the lan port for which they provide so it fixed the speed issue.

Such a good place that easy for you to locate. just takes bus 206 at A3 bus stop in front of Kyoto Station, . Very reasonable price for accommodation together with Japanese style breakfast included, I recommend Tofu one out of three provided . Many bus routes do good for sightseeing as well as subways at nearby. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful, especially Miss Tanabe (Mandarin ) and Mr Yukio (English ). The room is spacious and sleeping on tatami offers you a wonderful experience.

Great location near bus station and train station but a bit off center to enable peace and quiet. Fridge, Coffee machine with complementary capsules and free water bottles - great added. value. Laundry machines on 4 fl - so usefull

Hotel is near Hankiy station and bus station Many convenient shop outside. Our room is large and can hold up to 5 persons. The facility is a little bit old, but it's acceptable and. convenient. A private toilet and bathroom is available but you can try public bath at 1st floor.
