The staff members are very friendly. They did not hesitate to respond to our requests and even went beyond to provide a welcome gift and other gestures to make us feel more welcome. The location of the residences is splendid. There are many shops nearby, and it is in close proximity to the famous Sannenzaka streets. Meanwhile, it is tugged in a residential area, which isolates itself from the hustle and bustle of the crowds. Really liked the interior of the residences. Inside the room, there was plenty of space for the 3 of us, and it is well furnished and well equipped with various amenities. Personally, the futons and the tatami mats were so comfortable to sleep on. Thank you for making our visit a memorable one.

Beautiful property and room. Having laundry in the room was really useful. The design aesthetic is fantastic and is a great blend of modern and classic Japanese, exactly what we were looking for. The location cannot be beat if you are looking to explore the Higashiyama area. Just a block off the main road made it easy to walk to food and explore without needing to get on a bus ensuring we could easily beat the crowds and stay late. The host spoke perfect English and went above and beyond to ensure we had what we needed without being overbearing.

It's a small space and could have been laid out a little better. Having to walk around the futons to access the bathroom and closet was a bit annoying, but no real issue.

Location was perfect: multiple bus stops around, few trains stations at walking distance, in a quiet street but near from gion and kyomizudera and the commercials streets around it. The appartment was also perfect: clean, good air conditioning, a big and functional bathroom with bath/shower separated from the loo, a washing/drying machine, a nespresso machine with capsules refilled everyday and a really practical kitchenette. Takase-san was really kind and helpful. Easy to talk to him via whatsapp. Helped us is something was missing and organised a taxi for us the day we were leaving. Thank you again.

I love the design of the house. I like that it was big enough for 3 pax and yet cosy. The facilities especially the washer and dryer was very much appreciative given that this was the tail end of our trip. The manager is very responsive on whatsapp and helped us with the sending of our luggages to the next place. I really appreciate the quick replies given on booking.com and those replies were why I decided to stay at this new place. I had initially booked the second floor but they took into account our luggages and it worked out in the end.

I honestly cannot think of any.

Location was wonderful near major sites of interest. Plenty of food options also close by. Hosts were excellent and very helpful. Accommodation was very clean and was serviced daily.

Description of apartment said private bathroom plus additional bathroom which we now know means two toilets. As we were four people travelling we thought there was two bathrooms but only one shared one. Also said toaster but we couldn't find one. mattresses in second bedroom was on tatami mat which we knew but mattresses extremely thin which made for a few uncomfortable nights.

The aesthetics of the house; it was beautifully presented and thought out. We loved the deep bath which filled itself and the option of futon beds. It was very clean and amenities generally good. The house manager Takase was exceptionally helpful. The location in Gion was excellent. We felt as if we had stepped back into another era; utterly enchanting.

Perhaps another seat in house (we were a party of 4) though we appreciate that the style was one of minimalism. Also, we couldn't locate plug for kitchen sink or tea towels and we felt awful leaving dishes for cleaner.

The apartment was very spacious and clean, kind of a hybrid between an apartment and machiya, which was really nice. The instructions provided in the binder were very helpful to navigate the various amenities. The location was excellent, just a 5 minute walk to the main street where you can easily catch a local bus. The host was absolutely incredible with great communication. He was very responsive to any inquiries we had and truly went above and beyond to help and accommodate us. We were all incredibly impressed with the host and he truly made us feel welcome and in good hands.

Just to note, if staying on the 2nd floor, you will have to bring your luggage up a flight of stairs, but it wasn't too bad because the stairwell is very wide.

Loved staying here and I am only sorry I didn't have more days in Kyoto! It's a traditional Japanese house cleverly fitted with all the gadgets and amenities you need for a modern life. We stayed in the smaller room, but it really had everything you might think of, and many ways to adapt it to your own needs. The tatami mats were very comfy and the bathroom was perfect, it inspired me to rethink my own! The area is great, it's a lovely part of Kyoto close to shrines and nature and with lots of options for restaurants, shops etc, but still very quiet. One of my favourite stays in Japan, loved it!

Not a deal-breaker, but the kitchen could benefit from some spices & oils, in case you have lunch/dinner at home.

The location of this apartment is ideal for access to public transport and for wandering around the Gion district. The apartment is clean and modern with everything you need , in spite of being inside a traditional looking building The manager is outstanding -a great communicator who met us on arrival to give us the door code and to explain workings of the accommodation. He also kindly ordered a taxi for us to the station on departure Towels and supplies were replenished daily and the apartment cleaned each day All in all ,a wonderful stay in a quiet street just off the main drag

If anything could be bettered it would be to supply a little more tourist information about the local area, although it was quite fun to wander around and make our own discoveries

The property itself looks very clean and newly upgraded inside. The property is also very close to many great restaurants and historical sites. We were able to walk to many in 10-15 minutes. Temples and old city streets were just a short distance, and the Maikos and Geishas were nearby and we were lucky enough to see several walking down the streets. Just an overall great location.

There isn’t much to not like about the property, except it’s a little hard to find and some taxis had trouble, but I would expect many location on small streets have the same problem.
