my room was located just next to the shower, and the walls are quite thin, so people showering late at night kept me awake, and early morning I was woken up by someone showering

It is close to Kiyomizu Dera temple, ninenzaka walk... you probably get good night shots of the area at night... Beds are very comfortable for your to have a good nights rest and the room was surprisingly spacious and clean... very basic no tv in the room but if want to have a nice comfortable bed to rest after long walk this would be the place to be... Closer to get to by bus when you stop at The Kiyomizu Michi bus stop, make sure you read or see the email on how to get to this hotel Managed to meet staff when arrived early and was properly briefed

It would have been better if water refill for hot and cold water was provided Instead or having to purchase When you return in at night certain areas are bit dark but it’s still safe

Great location, very responsive owner. As a solo traveller I felt very safe and comfortable at this property. I was apprehensive about sharing a toilet with others but the restrooms were VERY clean.

The wifi didn't work for me and there wasn't anyone at reception to ask about fixing that issue. The hostel walls are thin so you can hear other guests but they do provide earplugs in the room to combat that.

so comfy and artsy. you wouldn’t believe that it’s a hostel. it’s an experience with single rooms to yourself. wow. they have nice smelling dispenser outside. decor is impressive. front desk is lovely. the owner is super helpful. he recommended a few things which turned out to great. they have bike rentals.

For people who are coming to socialize, this is not really the place. this place is for those who seek solitude after some crazy nights in Tokyo and Osaka.

Location was great and room was very clean and comfortable. Shared facilities like bathroom and shower room were also extremely clean and had up to date appliances.

Staff weren’t there when I arrived so I was not able to drop off my bag at the front desk, but this was 20 minutes before check in which is done automatically so it wasn’t a big deal.

Very clean, modern and has everything you need. shared shower and toilets. free shampoo, conditioner, soap and toiletpaper. if you forgot your toothbrush or want a bottle of water, you can purchase these in the hallway. second floor was shoe-free, so very clean. free slippers, earbuds and everything smells amazing. it was okay to leave my bags before checking in later that day!

The location is convenient, being walking distance from the bus stop. The staff is friendly. The bed and room are clean and comfortable.

I think the check-in process could have been clearer. Adding a video on the website would help a lot. I think the way to calculate extra add-ons, like water bottles, and scents, should be made electronic/not paper+pencil. I didn't want to use it because I don't know how the system works.

Cleanliness and value for money. It’s is great to be able to explore the area close to various places to go to. I like that Happi Rokuhara super is just a stone throw.

It would be nice if there is a kitchen room or a lounge where people could take time to make proper drinks and enjoy some fresh food from Happi Rokuhara. A coin laundry would be an important feature especially for long stayers.

The location is ace, close to the old town and the bar area. The hostel is also very clean and new. I would definitely stay here again in future.

There is no laundry available on the site which I find quite common in most of the hostels in Kyoto. Also, the walls are pretty thin so you could hear other people's noises which wasn't really an issue for me but worth mentioning.

Simple and clean room and bathroom. Nice fragrance and spacy bed. Good location. It could be noisy as it's with thin walls, but I had no problem.

The main door doorlock system wasn't working on my phone, but it was ok after figuring it out. Just make sure if you have a plastic key card or it's working alright on the phone.
