Four (4) pillows on the bed! The room I was in had a very attractive modern design with Japanese aesthetic. It gave me the feeling of being in more than just a hotel. I did take advantage of a promotional (mid-week) deal, which made everything all the more appealing. I felt as though I was well above my usual price class. Location is in quiet residential area about 10-12 minutes walk from Kyoto train station. Closest morning eating options will be there. As long as you don't mind the morning walk .. or get breakfast supplies at konbini (hotel provides tea, coffee). Before arrival, I did wonder about the reception desk hours of noon to 9pm. It's not a 24h service hotel. But, it wasn't a problem at all. They had their system worked out and everything was explained at check-in. Also, I don't need 24h service.

- close proximity to Kyoto station (trains, subway) and multiple bus stops in the area - away from super touristy spots, so it's quiet and buses will have space on them - we had a quiet room on the top floor - room was spacious and beds were comfy - the lighting in the room is very nice, especially the dimmer light on the accent wall - staff was friendly and helpful, they held our luggage upon early arrival and after checking out for a few hours -we stayed for 6 nights and got 1 full housekeeping service in the middle of our stay - water always got hot quickly and they provided shampoos, plenty of towels, slippers and robes -there was a mini fridge in the room and the lobby has a microwave and vending machine which was handy

- There was a bright light right outside of our window that seemingly never turned off until maybe about 5am. It was impossible to completely block this light out using the blinds provided because they are not full blackout blinds. - Not sure who washes their towels (in-house or not). But there were a lot of long black hairs on every towel we unfolded. Not very appealing.. For the rest the room seemed very clean.

Hotel was about 10-15 minutes walk westwards from the kyoto station in a quiet area. Arrived just before 9 when reception was still open and received the room key. Hotel had also accepted our bags that were couriered from Osaka before our arrival and had put them in our room. The rooms are modern and clean with quite large bathrooms for Japan. The hotel also had laundry facilities which were easy to use. Rarely saw other guests at the hotel and the noise didn't carry much in the corridors.

On check out a junior staff member at reception was unhelpful on a number of things - including refusing to help us call a taxi when it was raining (his excuse was it was raining!) or to organise Ta-Q-bin. Needed a senior staff member to step in who was extremely helpful.

The location was great once we found the best way to get to it from the station - the position in the back streets made it quite quiet and the 10 minute walk to the station wasn't onerous. There was space at the back of the room to place our three large bags. The desk staff were very helpful and their ability to speak English was an added bonus. However, not having them avaiable between 9pm and midday the next day was somewhat difficult.

The third bed we requested was a futon and, with no additional mattress, it was incredibly hard to sleep on - my husband eneded up having to share the king singles with myself and our 12 yr old if he was to get any sleep at all. The kettle had to be placed on the ground in order to access a powerpoint and the lighting was poor in the evening.

- In a very quiet location. Bus stop is a block up and Kyoto Station is about 3 blocks away. - Great local ramen places nearby. - Beds were comfortable and the room was spacious. - The separated bathtub and shower were great as well as a door between the toilet and the shower/tub area so you can use the bathroom while your spouse/travel partner uses the bathing facilities. - Laundry room was nice.

- There is no staff on the property except for between 12 pm - 9 pm. Thankfully we arrived before 9 pm that night in order to check in and get our keys. - The hotel uses actual physical keys instead of key cards. A bit of a pain to use the key to enter into the hotel and also the rooms. - The hotel is a few blocks from Kyoto Station, but you have to go through a couple of alleyways to get there. During the day, it's fine, but at night it's a bit eerie. However, Japan is very safe and other than the first night walking to the hotel, the walk back and forth to the hotel was fine.

Neat room, very clean. the original room we booked was a little small, but since we had some problem with hot water in the shower, they immediately offered us another upgrade room. That was very spatious! Location was good as it is walking distance from the train station, and therefore great for dat trips to places outside Kyoto

Room was quite warm without using the airconditioning due to thin big windows, which were blurred so you could not watch outside. curtains not so thick so quite light early in the morning

The location is near the main station, which is good for travelling to bamboo forest, Osaka, Nara, etc. The room was very comfortable and clean. Additional things for the bathroom, laundry room, and vending machine, you can find in the lobby. The staff was very nice, they all know english, so if you have some questions or problems they will be happy to help you.

The internet was a bit slow in the evening, so see with them if you have that problem.

Lovely, quiet inn, walking distance from bus- and train station. The room is big enough for a couple of days. Great beds and 2 types of pillows. Loved the shower. There's not much in the direct neighborhood, but you'll be at Kyoto Station within minuts. There's a big mall nearby, as are many shops and restaurants. Would stay here again, when in Kyoto again.

Nothing really

Very friendly staff. Not far from the Kyoto station. The room was bigger than I expected. Quite some recommendations available in the hotel for places to eat/drink/go in Kyoto.

I didn't know that there was no staff outside 12pm-9pm. And since I was not sure when we would arrive in Kyoto, I didn't schedule a check-in time when booking. We arrived at 11am, and it cost me 20+ euros to call the emergency number for leaving the luggage at the hotel before the check-in time. But fortunately, the staff came to help us in half an hour.

Comfortable room and bed, openable windows was good. Clean and spacious bathroom. Decent size room too. The staff let us check in early which was very nice 👍

Cleaning costs ¥3000 each time you request it. Plenty of towels were given up front but after 3 nights, it would have been better if basic services like removing used towels, emptying bins etc were available.
