The staff were amazing - so accommodating and just lovely. The pick up drop off shuttle when we arrived and each day the Furano Prince side of the mountain was easy and effortless. It was an easy walk home from the kitanomine lift.

It was close to skiing but a bit further away from town. The Furano Prince shuttle you could catch to town was expensive for the distance (¥500 one way)

We totally enjoyed our time here. Enjoyed the breakfast each morning. it was great having the shuttle that took us up and picked us up every day. saved walking up the hill. The girls on the counter were also very accommodating. Loved the hard beds. Welcome drinks every day was awesome too. wifi worked well.

Located near ski slopes but still quiet and quaint. Staff are always patient, friendly and helpful. Shuttle services to the ski slopes are very useful when you don’t drive. Cottage we stayed in has ample space for a family of 4 and comes with a kitchenette so suitable for light cooking. Ample number of washer and dryer but dryer takes a couple of rounds to dry clothes.

We stayed in one of the 2 cottages which is not linked to the main building. Thus, you need to be suited up in winter when accessing the onsen and breakfast. The toilet in the Cottage is terribly cold and the wifi is rather spotty. Breakfast is nice but very greasy which is a departure from typical Japanese cooking style we are used to.

We came to Chalet Burlap mid March and were there 10 days with 2 adults and 2 kids , the hotel was a bit quieter as it was the end of the season, we were lucky enough we had snow every day and beautiful conditions . Overall a good experience , this was our first trip to Japan . The staff was always available apart from Sunday mornings, it is a small traditional hotel cosy and nice , very clean, comfortable room , we had 2 single beds and 2 futons on the floor , the bedroom was a bit tiny but we didn’t spend too much time inside. There are nice facilities , breakfast can be booked the day before, it was nice with a fair bit of choice , there are Onsens on site , a couple of vending machines, free toiletries , some communal washing machines and dryers and a communal lounge area with piano a sofa and a tv . The location is great , 5 mins walk down a hill from the ski slopes and from various restaurants , the taxi was always available and would come in 5 min if we wanted to go to Furano town or somewhere else . The hotel also offers a shuttle bus early in the morning go to Prince hotel on the other side of the mountain .

The room was a bit small for the 4 of us, I don’t know if they had bigger rooms I could only see this one when I booked. But overall not a big deal as it was comfortable and very clean. One thing they could improve is the knowledge of the staff , only a couple of staff spoke good English , couldn’t tell us if places were open or closed and can’t tell you much about recommendation or things to do in the area, we had to found out a lot by ourselves , which again is ok we love adventures lol. We will definitely come back again 🙂

Family of 5 in the 3-bedroom Villa, great amount of space, clothes line in laundry with cloth hangers, large bathroom, space in outer foyer to store skis and snowboards and inner foyer for boots, shoes and jacket hooks. A few blocks walk away from the Kitanomine ski resort. Although the Villa being one block away from the main Chalet Burlap building, we just grabbed food from food trucks and ate in the main lounge and enjoyed the free drinks each evening. The staff were great with the free shuttle (runs certain times and need to book the night before) and the kids loved doing the puzzles with them.

The heaters in each room was very noisy, flicks on and off throughout the night to maintain temperature (cold snowy winter time) and the LED screen was always on, lucky we were too tired from being on the slopes all day.

The staff - exceptionally responsive, accommodating, warm and helpful. They make you feel at home. They go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. We were celebrating our daughter's 6th birthday and we just wanted to use the common living room to blow her cake. Spontaneously, the staff made up Christmas decorations around the cake, dimmed the lights and took our phone camera to take shots while the candles were blown and happy birthday was sung. That's how attentive they are, and that's just 1 of so many examples during our 1 week stay. Bonus perks - Welcome drink which includes Japanese whiskey from 4 to 9:30 PM, available everyday because your're practicaly wellcome EVERY DAY :-) Free flowing freshly brewed cofee every morning (actually anytime you want).

I struggle to think of something to dislike about this home away from home. Minor stuff perhaps. Restaurant doesn't regularly operate except for breakfast. Wifi/internet sometimes glitchy. Navigating to your room with heavy luggage could be challenging.

Shuttle service: Shuttle service to and from JR Furano Station or bus stations was available on check-in and check-out dates. Shuttle service to and from Kitanomine and Furano Ropeway was also availbale on request during our stay. Reservation is required in advance. Helpful staff: All staff members spoke good English, and were attentive and willing to offer assistance to cater guests' needs. Great room: The room was spacious, with a tatami area and comfortable beds. Plenty of hooks and hangers were available, very convenient. Hot spring (onsen): The indoor onsen and sauna after skiing allowed us to relax and recover better.

Curtains: The curtains in the room could not effectively block sunlight in the morning. Light sleepers sensitive to light might easily be waken up. Bathroom: The bathroom in the room is very small. The sink was tiny and located inside the shower space. Given that we used the onsen for bath, it was acceptable. Breakfast: Food quality was good. It would be better to have more variety, given the price.

Amazing hotel close to Kitanomine side of Furano ski resort. Wonderful Onsen and Sauna. Pretty ok room. Welcome drinks were a nice touch. One of the staff members was very knowledgable of backcountry. Breakfast is the best I've had in Japan (that says a lot!).

Onsen has strange hours, it's closed most of the day and late at night, which I was disappointed to find out on my rest day after sleeping in. Not the hotel's fault, but Kitanomine was closed until Dec 21st, with the Gondala closed on Furano side, made a challenging ski experience. Don't come to Furano when Kitonomine is closed!

Chalet Burlap is warm friendly and comfortable. All the staff are excellent and extremely helpful. Albert goes out of his way helping to make your stay comfortable, suggesting excellent restaurants ordering taxis making the stay perfect! They make dinner a couple of times a week, Adrian made a fabulous meal and gave us great ski tips for the area. The rooms are comfortable and generous in size. The chalet is 7 minutes walking to the lift and about 30minutes walking into Furano town. The onsen is a plus!!

First of all I got to give my comliments to the amazing staff of Burlap!! Adrian, Clara and Ayana san, thank you guys so much for being helpful, caring and so so friendly! This place is very available through Booking massages. I wasn't sure about the hour of my arrival to Furano by train and so I didn't know at what time I should ask for a shuttle (which they provide on arrival and check out!). So eventually I told Adrian that I'll menage somehow. Then, when I arrived at Furano train station, I saw a message from him telling me it's raining and it's not a problem for them to come and get me. I sent a massage back that I've arrived and right on the spot he told me they'll come to pick me up in 10 minutes. they even arrived in less time. that was amazing! Miss Clara drove me and was very kind during my staying. Ayana san gave me great recommendations for a day trip nearby. And I had nice conversation with Adrian. Again, thank you guys! The place is very clean and pretty. Each day you'll get a new towels and room cleaning. Great place! I highly recommend!

The place is nearby the center of Furano. since I didn't come during the main season (winter), some restaurants and bars around where closed or didn't work all the time. Although walking to the center city took me around 30 minutes and it was a nice walk.
