It's my third stay at Graphy, first after COVID. Although there has been changes since then, the service at Graphy was excellent as usual, the room maintained well and the overall vibe and feel of the space is still as calm and friendly. Room was all I needed, extra pillows requested were supplied promptly and great (firm ones too!). The bathroom, while small, was adequate for all I needed as a solo traveller. Situated in a quiet neighbourhood, it is a good respite from busy Tokyo.

The walk to and from Ueno to Graphy is often difficult with luggage, but I understand you can circumvent that with a quick and affordable taxi ride (I haven't tried this). Was not able to get the beer on tap after they changed the welcome drinks to bottles, but was still good.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Graphy Nezu! The location is very convenient, with walking distances to both Nezu and Ueno station, which easily takes you to most places around in Tokyo. It is close to the Ueno park, harboring cherry trees, the Zoo, Tokyo National Museum and the Natural History Museum, among others. The rooms are quite small, but after staying at other hotels in Japan during our stay, this seems to be quite common and the one at Graphy Nezu was larger compared to the other places we lived. We requested gluten free options for breakfast in advance. Although not included on the menu, they were able to prepare gluten free pancakes some of the days (but not all, so be prepared to buy gluten free options and have in your room). The non-gluten free breakfast alternatives are also very tasty! Otherwise, there is a nice 'lounge' area with free pool table and shared kitchen. In the breakfast area they also have a happy hour with free drinks one hour every day (for those who drink gluten-infested beer). Wi-Fi works excellent! The personnel is also extremely helpful and welcoming. Highly recommended!

I booked a full room with washroom while I was there. I also booked the room w/breakfast plan as it was one less thing to worry about. I'm glad I did because the food on offer was very good and service was always prompt, with staff ready and willing to help where possible. I liked the more relaxed atmosphere of this hotel with staff serving free beer between 6-7pm, it always somehow coincided with my day trips and having somewhere to come back to. The staff even cleaned my room daily without request which was very nice to have. This would most definitely be my go-to spot if ever needing to stay in Tokyo again as it's in a great neighborhood and within a short walk to Nezu station.

The washroom included was slightly cramped however that was really my only downside. Everything else was very well done.

The hotel itself is a wonderful mix of typical hotel and hostel. It has the charm and social opportunities of a hostel with the shared common spaces and on-site cafe but the privacy of a hotel with the rooms available for booking. The building is great with a modern look and cute murals. We especially loved the rooftop, which has a view of Tokyo Skytree on clear days, and the restaurant/bar on the first floor. My husband especially loved the free beer during the happy hour in the evening! We also had breakfast and lunch at the restaurant and all of the food was delicious. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly and made the overall experience very pleasant. We also loved the projector in our theater style room which was great for watching movies in the evening. The hotel is close to Ueno Park but located in a peaceful neighborhood filled with lots of hidden gem restaurants and shops, which the hotel even has a map of reccomended spots for.

The only thing that we had a slight issue with was the washer/dryer combo in the upstairs laundry room which seemed to have a reoccurring error message and as a result it took almost all day to wash and dry our clothes and we still ended up air drying some in the room. However, it was free so we really can't complain!

Bunk beds were roomy. Several floors of shower/washrooms. So if one needed cleaning you could find a cleaner one. The lounge area was great addition, with the large TV. Breakfast was ok, I honestly found going to one of the local shops a bit more of a bargain. Locker storage was ample in your room. Staff was attentive and allowed me to go back into my room and search for a lost possession.

Location's more on a quiet side. Its in the quiet neighbourhood northwest of Ueno, but only 20 to 30 minutes away from the big popular places such as Akihabara or Ikebukuro. Nothing to really dislike, the quiet neighbourhood is great for relaxation.

The hotel was served by two subway stations, which made it convenient for traveling around Tokyo. Nearby there was restaurants, convenience stalls and supermarkets. The hotel itself was clean and comfortable, with an excellent shared communal kitchen, dining and lounge areas. The staff were very helpful and went above and beyond their duties to help guests.

A running tab could be offered for guests staying for an extended period. This would allow guests to order food and drinks, and charge it to their rooms to pay during checkout. It would avoid the staff constantly asking the guest to pay for the food, which is a little awkward and disruptive.

It all starts in the outside, it was beautiful. They had some nice greenery and when you go inside you are greeted by very nice staff. Everything was clean, there was a very big lounge area with a big kitchen. The beds were nice and the shower/toilet were also good. I did not try the food, but the little restaurant looked cozy and it smelled good. The staff were really nice, they showed interest and helped with everything they could. I could leave my bags before check-in and after check-out to go out and explore. It is really close to Ueno park and Ueno zoo and the neighborhood is so beautiful. I love the small streets with the small houses, all of them different, all of them beautiful. I’m very happy to have started my journey through Japan in this nice Hotel.

The beds were a bit noisy

The location was really nice - it was a quiet area and quite residential, but only a very short walk to Ueno park and the shopping areas across the park, as well as the shopping areas north of Nezu are not too far (i.e. Yanaka Ginza). The staff at Hotel Graphy were very friendly and helpful. The room was tidy and big enough for two to stay comfortably (a little rare for Tokyo!). We didn't eat at the cafe/restaurant but it looked really nice.

The mobile access app said the 'beauty room' had a massage chair, but it didn't, which was a little disappointing as I would've loved to use a massage chair while there. But, this was ultimately no biggie.

The hotel overall was very nice and beautiful. It had a big common area with kitchen and table (where the wifi was very strong - perfect for working with your laptop). There is also a cafe inside the hotel. It was clean and towels and toiletry accessories were provided. Staff very kind!

- the drier didn’t dry up our clothes - the location was 16-17 mins walking from ueno station - if you book a small double room for 2 people, one person can sleep on the floor. The mattress was for one person, compared to European standards

We enjoyed staying here. The location is great with easy access to two metro lines, also close to restaurants and parks. The hotel is modern, the staff friendly. They have a free beer happy hour for one hour every day. We drunk many a free beer - great! Also, the coffee here is great and not overly expensive. The rooms were clean and modern, but a little small - which is normal for Japan esp. Tokyo. We'd stay here again.

We only wished, they would replenish the coffee in the room each day - this felt a little cheap.
