VERY close to trainstation and next to UENO park, so convenient . We saw that the room came with a massage chair but they were transitioning over and they did get us a massage cushion and it was heaven ... I was suprised this cushion could do the job but it did. The view from the room was great, it was over the the pond area where the temple is. WE enjoyed the view. Staff is wonderful

rooms are dated BUT very cozy. bkfst is very basic and limited similar to continental Japanese style. It was doable but not like similar bkfst offers at other hotels. Very limited . FYI, they lock the front door around 1 am ish ask desk, so you must be back by 1 am you can't get back in. THEY let you know on check in . WE don't go out late but for those who do like night life, this isn't a place to stay since you will not be able to get back in after midnight or 1 am.

First and for most the friendly staff and how the hotel responded to every question asked through the Booking.com message function. We had to change our booking to to the change in our flight iteniary from the airline, and they entertain us on this with no hassle. We arrived early from the check in time, they allowed us to leave our baggage at the hotel, and when it was about 1-hr to check in time, they allowed us to check in early with our bags already send up to the room. The Japanese breakfast provided was great as well. As a Muslim of course we cannot enjoy everything, but we did eat the morning rice with miso soup, fried sunny side up eggs (that you will need to fry yourself, limited to one egg per person), toasts with jam and butter and coffee. They do also supply us desserts (one for each person as well), but we cannot eat them due to the ingredients. But this is actually a plus for other tourist to enjoy the desserts from the adjecent bakery that is popular even with the locals. The room was spacious (19m2) as compared to other nearby hotels (11m2), we got a room with two double beds so it was comfortable for us 4 in a family (with just a baby and a 7yo). They had a bath tub in the small toilet and other amenities was available as well like a public microvave and water cooler/hot at every floor. You can also borrow an iron from level 6 if needed. They also provide a shared ofuro, but we did not try it. The location is the best if you are arriving from Narita International Airport as it is directly in front of the Keisei-Ueno station and the Ueno station is just nearby as well. Is is also adjacent to Ueno Park and the Ueno zoo and the Ameyoko street. And Tokyo University was a 17 mins walk away from the hotel.

The toilet did smell a bit. The bidet of the toilet does not seem to work well. All others is fine with me.

The location was excellent, right out the front of Ueno Station. My room had a beautiful view of the pond. It was quite spacious and even had a lovely massage chair that I could relax in and watch TV. The double bed was super comfortable. Bathroom was good. No problem with the shower or toilet. Good quality toiletries were provided. The breakfast room also had a lovely view of the pond. Breakfast was OK, and you could also take sweets provided by the desert outlet. The private onsen on the top floor was wonderful. Would have been even better if the outside air temp was not close to 40° C.

Nothing really, the air con really struggled to keep the room cool but was most likely to the unrelenting heat wave. The corridors were stifling.

Staff very friendly and accommodating. The hotel is very well positioned for both JR and Keisei lines. The Skyliner ends at Kei-Sei Ueno, the hotel is literally just a minuet or two away. The room was compact but had all that you need and very clean, with lift access to all floors. The breakfast was typical japanese fare but there was toast and jam and a full compliment of beverages. The station also has a Tokyo information desk and the ladies there were excellent. Just a stones throw from the Ueno entertainment area. Would recommend wholeheartedly.

Sometimes other guests conversations if loud, was noticable . That would be the only occasional irritation.

Next to the Keisei skyliner station and ueno Park. Many convenient stores around and ueno main station is just 5 mins walk away. Bigger rooms than the usual hotels in Tokyo. Breakfast is quite nice but can have more options. Location wise and room size, this is the best for me in Tokyo especially if u are arriving and departing at Narita.

Not able to enter after 12 am but actually u can call them to open the door for u if u come back after 12 am. Just need to wait for a bit.

- location: perfect location which is just outside the Ueno Skyliner station, so arriving and departing from/to Narita airport is not a hassle; there's a lot of convenience stores, restaurants within the area; Ueno Park is just behind the hotel; Ueno JR and subway stations, and Ameyoko Market (where I found cheap luggage) is a few minutes away - staff: very polite even with minimal English - rooms: single economy room is quite spacious, there's a lot of space for your luggage; they provide body soap, shampoo, conditioner, room slippers, hair dryer, water, tea, heater, towels, sleeping clothes; heater works well - others: they provide breakfast as well, there's only a few options to choose from but enough to begin your day (curry rice, eggs, bread, some salad, beverages, dessert); you can leave luggage there on the day of checkout

The only slightly negative thing I can think of is the lack of window in my room. But not really unexpected since it is an economy room.

We loved the location right by the Ueno park and zoo. The included breakfast was perfect for us, you cook your own eggs and it's joint with a bakery right by the lobby so there were always free desserts available with breakfast and a beautiful view of the park. Also the private osen was gorgeous, one of my favourite parts. The beds were big which was also great and the bathroom tub was bigger than it looks once you get in.

There was a curfew where they lock the front doors between 12am-5am that's very strict so if you want to stay out super late it might not work for some. Also the rooms were a bit small for our luggage so I'd recommend packing light but we had 3 large suitcases in one room so the struggle was our own fault really.

I think this is the best location in Tokyo. Next to the Ueno Skyliner station, Ueno Park, Ueno Markets and Ueno Shinkansen. I also enjoyed the breakfast and found it refreshing different after a week of Japanese luxury. Make your own eggs, nice rice curry and an excellent selection of cake and cream dessert dishes. Price was ok given I booked it as a last minute decision. I also loved the view over the Ueno Lake from my room. Staff were helpful and spoke OK English.

The room and bathroom was very small. The decor is old and dated. We couldn’t find anyone at reception when we collected our bags and sorted it ourselves. These were acceptable compromises for me given the great location and acceptable price.

Just a step away from the keisei line to nrt (family mart also sooo close)..and within a walking distance from ameyoko street..another big plus is the 7e is just around the corner. So u may grab your last minute dinner or early breakfast there. The staff was very friendly, i rushed to get a cab to have a dinner and left my shopping stuff at the lobby counter and the staff voluntarily ask if he can just put it in my room! He is so kind. Btw, i did message to get the room facing the lake, guess what, i got it even the answer is "we will try to arrange for it". Definitely will repeat my stay here!! Tq~

Its quite hard to put the address in the go taxi apps. I got the staff from my earlier hotel to search and apparently it is in japanese and i believed the hotel name is the older one. I hope the hotel can update the address in english so that its easier for tourist if they use a taxi apps.

This is sort of a quirky little place, right between Ueno Station and Ueno Park- great place to be for the zoo and museums. It’s a bit dated, but has character and some old fashioned charm. The staff is VERY nice. We had a room on the 6th floor with a small deck and a view of the lake. Fairly easy connection to both airports- I believe there is a direct high speed train to Narita; Haneda was 1 subway and the monorail- Good breakfast featuring some of the goodies from the popular sweet shop next door.

Could be viewed as a bit dowdy, but ok for a night.
