The staffs are very nice. I’m very impressed. They allow me to deposit my luggages 1-day before my check-in date for free! They also gave me a skincare kit and you can take a bath salt for free at the counter. The location is very convenience as you can travel with various transportation nearby, such as subway, JR train, Keisei to the airport.

The room is quite small like a normal Japanese style and has some musty smells. By the way, it’s clean and not that old.

The best part is location. I chose this hotel since it is next to Ueno train station which is a major transportation hub. The second reason is that there are lots of shopping places and numerous eating places a few step away from the hotel. Stayed twice first in the traditional japanese room and the second time in a twin room. The twin room has two beds and is comfortable.

The traditional Japanese room is quite a different experience room. I felt it is too small for me. And the layout is not what I get used to. But it may be the way the traditional room is. Wifi was weak during the first stay, but no problem in the two room on the 7th floor.

We chose this hotel twice mainly due to its location: just steps away from UENO train station which is a major transportation hub. Plus the hotel is very close to shopping areas such as Ameyoko. There are literally hundreds of restaurant around the hotel and tons of people eating and socializing in the evenings and nights. The hotel building also has two restaurants on the second and third floor. They are not related to the hotel though. The hotel staff is super nice, especially the young lady who had studied in the US and speaks perfect English. The room is on the smaller side with two beds, but are comfortable.

The lobby is a bit small and is quite often filled with stored luggage.

The location is awesome as it is very close to many restaurants and Ueno station, and also walking distance to Ameyoko street. The location is almost perfect if only there's a 7-11 beside it. Nonetheless, the nearest convenience store is a small family mart. Then the closest 7-11 is a big one but it's a block away (not too far). The room size is okay. The bed and the bathroom is always clean! The staff are very friendly and nice too.

I like the fact that it is located near Ueno Station. The staffs were excellent and friendly. Check in was very fast.

My room was not fully cleaned. Although i booked a smoking room. I entered in the room with a smell of cigarette that i think the person stayed before me just left an hour before i check in. I stayed in some hotels with smoking room, but the smell was pretty good.

Location is great. Close to Station. Good breakfast. Excellent choice with this price.

We walked up to the bridge walkway and did not find elevator to go down, we finally need to take our luggages down the stairs. If there is some more information about the walking path, it would be helpful.

Just a few steps from the ticket booths at UENO STATION, this hotel is convenient, clean, good value and simple. No nonsense. Seriously, after exiting the station it’s a two-minute walk to the front desk. The rooms are just the right size for a solo traveler. Wifi is very good. There is nothing to complain about. If you want a bigger room or more amenities then go somewhere else and PAY FOR IT. Admit it: you people stay here because of the low cost. Too many spoiled brats from Singapore and Malaysia whine about the size. Tough! Too many Americans complain about luggage space and closets. Tough! Plan your trip properly and bring only what’s necessary. I highly recommend this hotel to honest travelers.

Very clean, a little dated but charming. Great location right by train station and beautiful Ueno Park. Had everything we needed. Futons were comfortable. Will stay again.

Halls weren't air conditioned and it was very warm during our stay. But it's Tokyo, don't even know if most places do that or not.

Tatami room with futon beds were comfy. Breakfast set was plentiful and delicious. Ladies serving breakfast were friendly. Ice machine and water in lobby was a bonus. Location was right next to station.

Very near to train station, the main exit of Shinkansen. Staff is very helpful and can speak good English.

they want to keep your room key when you step out. A bit of hassle when you are just out to grab snacks from combini for 5 mins 🤷‍♀️
