We loved the location as it was really close to subway station, you had direct subway to Tokyo station; also there are many great restaurants nearby and shops; Room was really comfortable; the variety of cosmetics provided was large and all were great; it was great that we had a small sofa in the room; we appreciated that they provided dripping coffee in the room; Staff was helpful; they helped us book a night taxi;

Would be great to have microwave in the hotel; would be great if the staff spoke better english , they had translating devices but sometimes is quite difficult to communicate;

It was one of the best hotels we stayed in, during our trips to Japan! Very clean, friendly, and helpful staff and comfortable sized room for Tokyo standards! The location was a question mark before our arrival, but when we got there, we realised that the station is 5 minutes max by foot with 2 metro lines connecting you anywhere you want. The neighbourhood is very quiet and there are many good restaurant choices all around. Also, there are a 7eleven and a Family Mart just 5 minutes away. Tip: If you plan to visit other areas after your stay here, you can ask from the reception to manage and send your suitcases to your destination! It was very easy for us to travel to Osaka and Kanazawa without suitcases, for a small fee.

The only thing I would personally change was the pillow. It's was very soft for my taste.

The rooms are very spacious, the decor is new, the beds are very comfortable. Everything is very clean and feels very relaxing. It was so comfortable, we had to put in a lot of effort to get up and go out to explore! There is a ton of restaurants and bars around the area, even some that close past midnight for the night owls. It's about a 2 minute walk to the main street, where you will find the subway station as well as a lot of restaurants, and a few convenience stores. There's also a grocery store literally around the corner. There are 2 subway lines that go through Monzennakacho, which connects you to all the other major areas in Tokyo. My girlfriend and I stayed here for a week and it was fantastic. We got a great deal through Booking and paid around $70 USD per night which was a steal. We have paid more for way smaller and less clean hotels. We've collectively been to Tokyo more than a dozen times, and this hotel easily ranks in the top few.

Nothing negative to say about the hotel itself. However, Monzennakacho isn't as touristy as other parts of Tokyo (ie. Shinjuku, Asakusa, etc.), so there are less English speaking locals and fewer restaurants with English menus. This isn't a negative if you can speak some Japanese and want a more local experience... But if it's your first time in Japan and you don't speak it, this area could be a little more difficult to navigate around. Although there are 2 subway lines and it connects you everywhere, it takes about 30-40 minutes to get to the west side of Tokyo (Shinjuku, Harajuku, Shibuya, Ikebukuro).

Location, location, and always our priority before we booked, LOCATION! Hotel was indeed beyond our expectation in all the categories ( location, services, staff, room size, comfort etc. ) you want to know before you booked. No wonder it got the score of 8.9! Hotel was near the subway station and with lots of restaurants to choose from. one that standout was a resto at the corner serving Japanese cutlet or Tonkatsu, that was one of the best we had ever tasted. Also within the vicinity were, convenience stores, a big mall, a Daiso dept store, Izakayas etc. Located in a typical japanese neighborhood, peaceful, and a quite environment. Delicious breakfast mostly Japanese style and some European meals to choose from. Hotel serves free unlimited drinks till 10 pm daily. Friendly staff and courteous. Larger room for 3 paxs bigger than the usual jap standard. Will surely stay in this hotel next time.

1. A miscommunication or lacked of communication between booking. com & hotel staff re the included breakfast in one of the rooms I booked. If not for my insistence, the price I paid for the room with free Bfast was gone! Always difficult to explain when one party doesn’t understands English. Good it had a happy ending! 2. Internet was slow!

Richmond Hotel Monzennakacho sits right in the middle of a beautiful neighbourhood: Monzennakacho is full of character, there are some lovely restaurants all around the hotel and it is a fantastic base for those who enjoy long city walks like I do: so many picturesque trails run along river and canals, including one that will take you all the way to the Skytree. The Museum of Contemporary Art and Kiyosumi Gardens are both a short stroll away and absolutely Gorgeous. For those who don't enjoy walking, the underground station is behind the corner and very well connected to all of Tokyo. My bedroom, though it wasn't very large, had a large window with a very nice view over the neighbourhood park. The little sofa and table are an enjoyable feature. The hotel was perfectly clean and there are plenty of amenities available at reception. Recommended.

We stayed at this property twice during our trip. The first was when we arrived from our country and the second was 9 days after we arrived from Sapporo. They also allowed us to store our luggages at the premises while we were away. One thing I love about this hotel is how they went beyond what they are expected to do. During our first full day, we went to shop at Gotemba Premium outlets. My dad, realized he probably left one of our paper bags there. I seek the assistance of the front desk officer on duty at that time (she was a japanese lady who speaks in english) to assist us in calling the outlet since I thought that would be better compared to if we were the one to call due to the language barrier. She was able to explain well our concern and was able to retrieve our missing item which was then already reported to the outlet’s lost and found section. Kudos to her! I wish I was able to get her name to acknowledge her here. In terms of the room size, we booked 2 superior double rooms wherein the other one has an extra bed since we’re a family of 5. Their superior double room is perfect for 2 adults however, for a group three, it would be a little cramped already especially with the extra bed. However, i’m not expecting much with the room size since this is a standard in most Tokyo hotels and the service they provided still exceeded my expectations so room size didn’t matter that much. In addition, we were also away during the day and would be back late at night due to our jam packed itinerary. The hotel is located in a quieter neighborhood in Tokyo. There are also konbinis nearby and a train station a few minutes from the hotel premises. There are also free drinks at the lobby. All the staff gave their utmost service to all the guests. Kudos to your team, Keisei Richmond Monzennakacho.

Hotel is easily accessible via train or bus and there are convenience stores, restaurants, drug stores and shops nearby. It has the amenities we needed and more. All our requests were granted (i.e. iron, quiet rooms, rooms close to each other). We even borrowed umbrellas during one rainy day. About a month prior to our stay, they booked dinner at a restaurant on our behalf since we are not able to speak Japanese. Free drinks are offered at night. Staff are all efficient, helpful and hospitable. Special shout out to N. Asuka for being patient with my queries on taxi booking.

Nothing really. A bigger room would be a plus, though I think smaller rooms are the norm in Tokyo.

Everything was awesome! Beds were super comfy and pillows were great. shower/bath were deep, clean and comfortable, location was convenient for travel to Tokyo Disneyland, breakfast was buffet style with many choices (Japanese and slightly western style), all the staff members were incredibly helpful and polite, the hotel was able to accept my shipped luggage prior to my arrival and place it in my room, which was amazing! I cannot say enough about how nice and wonderful this stay was in Tokyo and I will definitely stay here again when I return.

Everything was great, no problems! I was going to ship my large luggage ahead to the next location but I realized too late, but now I know for future stays so thank you very much!!

The whole facility in this hotel was new and clean. They had coin laundry and you can check the remaining time and the availability of 4 machines online. There was one microwave in the hotel. There was free fruit juice/coffee at the lounge in the evenings. There was a supermarket within 2-3 min walk and at the supermarket, there was an elevator to the subway MonzenNakacho station so it was easy for a family with small kids.

The hotel asked for Covid test results only for travelers from overseas when Japan had the world's highest newly infected case.

Friend recommended this hotel to me and it was awesome. It was about 2 mins walk from the subway line. It was convenient and easy to get there from ueno and tokyo station. Check in was easy and fast. Staff couldn't speak much English but he tried his best to answer our questions and guide us through the check in, bravo for him! Amenities were at the lobby and we could take whatever we wanted. Room was big enough for 3 adults and 3 luggages, just had to make full use of the space area. Toilet was clean and big enough. You can choose the type of cleaning you want through the TV. They do proper cleaning on the 3rd day of your stay and normal cleaning (throwing rubbish and changing towels) everyday. Hotel is a bit far from the main shopping area (shinjuku and shibuya) but I really liked the neighborhood. There is a supermarket and daiso just beside the hotel. There were enough food options in the area too. I would definitely come back here again!

Nothing.
