Overall, it was a really nice stay. The female dorm and showers/toilets were clean. Showers were strong and hot. The location was really perfect - only a 15 minute walk from the orangutans, RDC, and sunbears, and the lodge was very peaceful. Breakfast was good and the restaurant had good food at a reasonable price. Filtered water and hot water was available, and restaurant staff were very friendly.

Luckily I was in a well-positioned bunk, but be aware that there are only 4 plugs in the 6-bed female dorm, and they are all at one side of the room. If you’re in bed 1 or 2, you’re fine. But if you’re in an upper bunk or a bed at the back of the room, you’ll find it difficult to charge your phone. And bring a jumper, because the AC is very cold (which is nice after a long day in the rainforest, but not so nice in the middle of the night!). Also be aware that Grab is readily available to take you from the airport to the hostel for less than RM20. You don’t need to pay for the lodge’s transfer. But going from the hostel to the airport is more difficult, as most Grab drivers don’t want to leave the area to do the trip. So, leave yourself plenty of time to find a driver that will come.

Lovely room, breakfast was ok but one morning was a set menu then next it was buffet, buffet definitely not as good as the set menu day. Staff all very friendly. Great location to see orangutans and sun bears and could also get a grab to see proboscis monkeys in Labuk bay from here too.

We were told to book the hotel taxi from the airport to the hotel. Then when leaving we were told to just get a grab back to sandakan, would have been great to of been told we could’ve just got a grab to the hotel from the airport for a fraction of the price (150MYR for hotel taxi and only 35MYR for a grab)!!! So definitely don’t use their hotel taxi and just get a grab instead!!!

Walking distance from orang utan centre. Very friendly staff, good guy at the reception, he was new but very professional. Breakfast was very nice and the happy hour helps on a hot evening. Rooms and toilets clean and good value.

Beds a bit uncomfortable, mattresses are a bit too thin in the dorms, but no big deal. Wifi in the dorms didn't work.

The lodge had an air-conditioned dorm. The dorm room is very spacious. Breakfast was included and had a very good selection. The lodge is walking distance to the sun bear and Orang utan rehabilitation centres and the rainforest discovery centre (approx. 15 minutes walking). They had free drinking water.

There are not many restaurants in the area, mostly in other lodges. The onsite restaurant only had a buffet for lunch and dinner and was quite pricey. The dorms could use lockers. My bed looked like someone had used it (blanket just thrown on top) - it seemed cleaned though. The AC was a bit strong. Thicker blankets would have been useful. A towel would be a nice addition as well. Overall, it's still a nice place to stay!

Splurged for one of the private rooms- was large, clean, had great AC, and amenities. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the shower had hot water and great pressure. They also post a sign to tell you the best times for good water pressure. Staff were incredibly friendly and helped me book all my tours. You can pay for your tour/stay at their Kinabatangan location here with your card as well. I would be prepared with cash just in case, since the nearest ATM will be all the way back in Sandakan. Great location- It was a manageable 10-20 min walk to all the attractions nearby.

Restaurant could use a bigger menu, or they could sell more ala carte options, since there really is nowhere close by to purchase snacks. Be aware that WiFi is currently only really working in the lobby, but it does work!

We stayed here for 3 nights in a dorm room and enjoyed our stay. There is free filtered water and hot water in the reception. The setting is lovely, and the showers were hot. Bed was also comfy. Good A/C and fans in the room. Everything was very clean, but there were occasions when they ran out of loo roll in the bathroom. 15 minutes walk to the orangutans and sunbears and around the corner from the rainforest/night walk. The restaurant is good and open between 11-2 for lunch and 7-9 for dinner. Good food, very reasonably priced and cheap drinks. Breakfast is okay, basic but the same thing every day. Vegan options are available, and staff are knowledgeable, so just ask. Overall a good stay

The Blankets are very thin and short, I'm 5ft and they were shorter than me, so we had to ask for extra. The pillow is a bit too firm. Sockets aren't near the bed. There are no curtains or lamps for the dorm beds either. The room curtains do not close fully either.

Very clean living spaces and bathroom. Airy with plenty of sunshine, decked with simple wooden furnishings. Quiet place probably because I went during low season. A really nice place to just chill. Would recommend if you're looking for a place with value for your money.

Buffet was the only option for lunch which is a bit much for a solo traveller and those who can't eat that much at midday. The buffet was priced at RM38 which is quite steep by Sandakan standards. Would have loved some ala carte options, even if just 3 options or so.

I absolutely loved my stay at Nature Lodge Sepilok! The staff name Husriq at reception helpmed me a lot, friendly and accommodating of my needs. He tell me what planning activities to do in Sepilok, what can i do as long i stay in here. Supposed i stay just 4days 3night but i extend one more day because i love this place so much. Total i stay 5 days. All staff at restaurant very humble and nice. The food very tempting and delicious. Breakfast buffet too. I stay in dorm. My bed so clean and comfortable. What can i say about toilet. The shower and toilet superb clean. Not forget the view of Nature Lodge Sepilok, so nice. Overall it was a very pleasant stay and i would recommended Nature Lodge Resort to anyone looking for a place to stay in Sepilok and definitely i will come back to stay here for another my journey solo travel

It's ok when they request you to take out your shoes when the floors are clean. But that wasn't the case here (and it's not the case in Malaysia, in general). Mainly in the bathroom!!! Dirty, wet and you can't wear your flip flops. It's so uncomfortable when you have your luggage, there's no chair or anything, just steps/stairs, and you need to take off your shoes to step on a "not very clean" floor. The dish I had at the restaurant was horrible and not like advertised.

Everything was new, clean, and well organized - I was really impressed by the dorms and the amount of space in the room. The dorm bathroom was also large and clean. Amazing value and the location is a short walk to the Rainforest Discovery Centre. The breakfast buffet that is included in the price is quite good with a variety of vegan and vegetarian options. I had a really nice and comfortable stay - highly recommend!

There are very few food options in the area, so guests are often stuck having to eat at the Lodge's restaurant particularly in the evening. The restaurant is quite expensive, and sometimes only offers a buffet that is extremely overpriced for only three dishes at dinner. The staff explained that if there are more than 15 guests staying in the Lodge, the kitchen does not accept a la carte orders and will only offer a buffet.
