Breakfast included was great. The food for lunch and dinner was incredible and reasonably priced. The rooms were a basic but nice. Location was PERFECT. Literally a short walk to the orangutans and sun bears. Super close to other activities around sepilok. It's also just a great place to sit around and chill at. Would recommend staying here.

The bathrooms were probably the biggest let down, as some of them didn't have anywhere to hang your stuff, and the water pressure was low in others. But insignificant compared to the pros of staying here.

Great location close to Sepilok forest, Orang Utang, and Sun Bear Centres. The staff running the place realy are second to none. You certainly get service with a smile. This includes the domestic cleaning team that kept us supplied with towels,, water , tea, coffee, toilet rolls, and shower gel.The food is also excellent. We arranged our trip to Kitabatangan River through the Jungle Resort which was also excellent. We enjoyed our stay and recommend Sepilok Jungle Resort.

Sepilok Jungle Resort is slightly run down and in need of some TLC. The rooms are on the dark side with unnecessary furniture items that make the area cluttered. The pool could be a lot cleaner. The first row of tiles above the water level were filthy. A nice area sadly let down by the lack of cleanliness.

It's a really nice resort, with beautiful well maintained surroundings but with a genuine jungle feeling, the resort really fits in the surroundings. The rooms are basic but clean, comfy beds, nice balcony to sit in the evening and listen to the jungle noises. There was a kettle and few tea bags and instant coffee. A bathroom had a shower separated from the toilet. Breakfast included in the price. Nice big common terrace to have breakfast/dinner or just to grab a drink. A small shop within the resort for some basic stuff (water, etc...). Very helpful staff. Walking distance (5 minutes) to orangutan and bornean sun bear conservation centres and rainforest discovery centre (this one is a bit further, about 25 minutes walking).

No warm/hot water in the shower, but it was so hot outside it was refreshing to have a cold shower, but I would still like to have the option. This one is not resorts' fault but I just want to give heads up - there are Grab drivers in front of airport waiting and they will drive you to Sepilok, but if you miss the ones already waiting there, none will come from Sandakan to drive you to Sepilok, so after almost 30 minutes of trying to get a Grab, we took a proper taxi which was more than double in price. Also, on the other day we wanted to go to Sandakan to book some tours for our upcoming days but there was no Grab driver willing to come to Sepilok to drive you to Sandakan. There is an option to book a driver from the resort to take you to Sandakan if no taxi is near.

Great location! Short walk to Orangutang Sanctuary and Sun Bears. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The place had a good breakfast and is surrounded by beautiful jungle and wildlife. The hotel helped us organise a night tour at the RDC which was great! Restaurant at the resort had a good variety of food, including vegetarian. Room was serviced with clean towels and a small water everyday. We had a room with no aircon, only a fan and we found it okay.

Be careful as there are a lot of wild dogs around, some are aggressive and can be quite scary. There are also quite a few steps to get around as the resort is quite spread out, bare this in mind for accessibility and luggage. It’s 3 ringgit to refill a water bottle, so try bring your own water if you can. Lots of mosquitos outside, but you will find this anywhere in the jungle so just wear insect repellent every time you are out.

We loved how immersed we felt, to be right in the jungle, a stones throw from the Orangutan rehab centre. The bridges and walkways through the complex allowed for nature spotting. The setting was peaceful. The swimming pool area was great. The restaurant was run very efficiently. The staff were so helpful and always smiling. All of this we could not fault. Rooms were comfy and basic but no issues there. We would come back in a heartbeat.

The complex itself was very tired and some areas, for example the outdoor disco nightclub that might have once been a busy hub was absolutely derelict.. Walking around the complex we saw what we only explain as a ghost town. So sad because we loved this place. In its day, possibly prior to covid, we can imagine that it would have been more entertaining and vibrant. We didn't come for the entertainment side so all in all we loved our stay and the amazing experience. Thankyou to all the staff.

Amazing location, where you have jungle right in your garden. Very close to Orangutan sanctuary. Even with those downs, I consider it as one of the most amazing experiences I’ve had. There are night walks (we did both, hotel and RDC and both were different and very exciting). During the morning, you can just walk to the “garden”/jungle and see monkeys in the wild, watch birds. It also jas swimming pool but we did not use it, but it looked nice.

There were ants in the room and one cockroach, however that is quite expected as you are I’m the middle of the jungle. For the water, we have seem comments people complaining about prices (3RM/refill), so we brought canned food and water. However the breakfast was quite ok, except I would prefer dinner instead. Sometimes some things tasted/were with mold, we told personnel and they fixed it. Ketchup tasted and smelled also old. Either way, you can just bring in your food/water if you don’t like it.

I loved the grounds and the atmosphere, it is incredibly beautiful. The place feels like it's out of a story book. The bridges and walkways are really cool and the whole place has a very charming vibe. I loved the open air restaurant and hangout areas. It was fun to feed the fish from the deck and watch the monitor lizards swimming in the pond. The staff was really friendly and helpful whenever I needed anything. The restaurant staff was also really friendly and I looked forward to seeing them each day. Seeing and hearing all of the wildlife was a really cool experience. I enjoyed the pool every afternoon and thought it was pretty well maintained. It had cool features like the mushroom tables and waterfall. Despite the place being a little rundown, I felt like it had a lot of charm and character. I personally loved it here and I would definitely stay again if I come back to Borneo.

The pool closes too early and the gym/toilet/changing room area is a little rundown. Having a few more lounge chairs would also be nice because they get occupied quickly. I'm not sure why the poolside cafe was never open, perhaps it was a victim of the pandemic. The food at the restaurant leaves a little to be desired. There were some good things on the menu like the seafood options. However there are a lot of fried things and not a lot of fresh options other than fruit. I'm pretty sure the cream of mushroom soup came from a can.

We liked almost everything. Location is brilliant (foot walk to RDC or MYR4 on Grab and 10 min foot walk to Orangutan sanctuary). The territory is big and well-manteined. The room is a little bit dark but we came there only to sleep, so it didn’t bother us. We were lucky as there were a few neighbors in our building, so it was quiet at nights. The furniture and linen are a little bit old but it was ok and clean. The swimming pool was very nice for cooling but there was a permanent lack of available sunbeds. Breakfast was a simple (4-5 dishes buffet) but enough.

Only one towel for everything (it’s better to provide one small for face and hands and one big for shower). No provided swimming pool towels but it is not the main issue, so no big deal. Permanent lack of available sunbeds near the swimming pool.

Lovely resort. Nice grounds to walk around. Pool was great. Breakfast was really good, good selection of asian and western food buffet style. It was included in the room so if you stay in the deluxe room or the budget dorm it's the same breakfast. Sets you up for the day. Showers and toilets very clean. You can walk to the orangutans and sun bear centre from there.

We stayed in a dorm room and it was fine but the common area for people to smoke was outside so often smoke was drifting into the room at night and people talking noisily outside (usually other tourists).

Really convenient location next to the Orangutan centre and not too far from the Rainforest centre (if it's humid though it feels like a really long way). Room was spacious even with twin beds. The balcony was a great place to chill (when it wasn't too hot), Breakfast was included and there were a variety of options available at the restaurant for dinner at reasonable prices. Pool area came in handy after being out in the heat all day. Night tours were available to go wildlife spotting also. Birding is great on the resort grounds!

The air conditioner struggled at times to cool the room appropriately. Our shower drain also clogged up and the water just built up. They said someone would come around to look, but no one came and we had to unclog it ourselves.
