an authentic experience of a night in the kitchen for with the luxury of soft sheets. The hospitality was very generous and sincere. The food delicious and the wildlife abundant.
Didn’t stay long enough.

Staff were brilliant - always helpful and friendly . They went out of their way when we left to get us a taxi to the airport when we realised that a Grab to airport wouldn’t work . Rooms are clean and have a lovely balcony . The resort is a 15 min walk to the orangutan sanctuary and about a 30 min walk to the Rainforest centre - down a gravel track to start with but quite safe lots of people walking it . Restaurant area is good and a reasonably priced menu . The plunge pool is nice after sightseeing.
The chairs by the plunge pool need cushions and the towels they give you are very thin

we really enjoyed our stay here! Although you are never guaranteed, we saw many different kinds of animals and plants including two orangoutangs! You really are in the edge of the jungle. The beds and cabin was comfortable. The plunge pool (about 2 feet deep and 25 feet diameter) was a very relaxing place to cool off. The staff were very friendly. One of the guys there was looking for wildlife and would point it out to you-he is the one who spotted the two orangoutangs and came to our cabin to let us know they were close because he knew we really wanted to see them! The breakfast buffet was small but always delicious. This resort was a bit more expensive than we usually pay for a place in Southeast Asia, but it was absolutely worth it!
The food at the restaurant was delicious! But a bit overpriced.

The lodge is very close to the Orangutang and Sun Bear rehab centres. I was there in Monsoon season so didn’t see the property at its best, but the central lodge and chalets, while simply constructed, offer a good base from which to visit the nearby centres. Breakfast was very simple but there is a useful restaurant facility in the central lodge for lunch or dinner. There’s WiFi service and I was just about able to benefit from cellular data service too. Staff were great and very friendly. Don’t forget insect repellent since you are likely to end up feeding the smaller wildlife without meaning to if you forget!
Hard for me to judge fairly since I picked a bad weather season (late November) so everything was soaking and thundery. In general I’d be hard pushed to find fault with anything major.

Great location, as the name says, it's on the edge of the forest. There is a forest trail out the back, I did walk it one morning, wear proper footwear as it was a steep at points, takes about 30 minutes to walk the loop through the forest. We saw a wild Orangutan in the grounds one morning, which was amazing, definitely the highlight of our stay. Beds are comfortable, the AC is good, its clean, good food, (vegetarian options were a little limited so I kept eating the same dishes but the food was delicious, I highly recomend the tofu dish and the eggplant dish). Breakfast buffet was comprehensive with lots of options. Good location for nearby attractions, you can easily walk to the orangutan sanctuary (about 500m), and if you're feeling up to it, the rainforest discovery centre is 1.4 miles away, so we walked it in about a half hour. Didn't spend much time in the grounds but they are well maintained and a nice setting. The balcony to our room had good views across the grounds (hence my partner spotted the orangutan in the grounds). Staff were attentive and helpful, including helping us book transport options. The whole place felt very safe and secure.
Room smelt a bit funny with the ac off. Shower above the bath could do with a shower screen to stop it spraying the floor if you're a bit tall. Only minor points though.

The location was amazing, the grounds were stunning and on several of our walks around we encountered orangutans, gibbons and red leaf monkeys, some of which were right outside our hut! The grounds also had a lake and little plunge pool which was nice for a cool off in the humid afternoon, there are also some walks you can take further into the rainforest which we enjoyed. From this resort it was only a short walk to visit the orangutan and sunbear sanctuaries, and a short taxi drive to the rainforest discovery centre. The staff were very friendly and helpful, they helped us to book our trips and organise transport etc. The restaurant was also very nice, it is situated overlooking the beautiful grounds and the food was tasty with a lot of variety on the menu, cocktails, beers etc. The breakfast was a buffet and had a fair bit of variety, we enjoyed the food and atmosphere overall. Would highly recommend this as a place to stay in sepilok, a great stay!

Original room and clean. Bathroom has a bamboo water tap. A lot of wood inside. Outside shower was a big plus. Breakfast was good with a nice view. The possibility to see animals around the resorts facilities. We saw a big female orang-outang and her baby, some long tail monkeys, squirrels, 2 horn bill birds + some small colorful birds, just above our outside shower. Pool is for kids or for a quick dip (only 40cm deep) but still nice.
No soap dispenser in the outside shower. Could not open the window to let some air in, it was jammed. The terrace door had no mosquito net so we couldn't open that one. You are a little isolated if you have no car (road is a little bad to go by foot at night + we saw some errand dogs around) so you must eat at their place which is good but expensive for the area (20usd for 2).

This is a wonderful lodge where you really feel you are in the rainforest. Specifically: Beautiful location - quiet and really felt surrounded by nature. Delicious food with lovely staff in restaurant. Loved our room surrounded by rainforest. Loved our dip in the pool. Best of all was the forest walk which we went round twice, loving being on our own to absorb the sounds and sights of the rainforest - absolutely amazing and reason enough on its own to choose this location.
They failed to order the taxi we had booked to airport. They had even confirmed in writing that the taxi would be there at 11am. When we arrived to get in the taxi, it became apparent that no taxi had actually been booked. After waiting 15 minutes, they said it would be at least another 15 minutes. Fortunately another guest managed to get a Grab so we do not know how long we might have had to wait. What made it worse was that they had tried to persuade us to leave later because they said we only needed to get to the airport an hour before flight departure. If we had followed their advice, we might well have had problems catching the flight. We did not even get an apology for their mistake. Could have ruined the whole trip.

Food was ok - staff nice in the restaurant!
I had emailed several times to organise a pick up in advance and they got it wrong in the email conversation and I corrected them and was promised that this now all booked correctly ! However on the day arrived we waited and waited ! I had to pay to activate my phone and call to find out that we have been forgotten! We waited longer than the whole flight took to the resort with small kids ! By then we missed the first feeling of Orangutans and as we only stayed for one night we had to make a choice for afternoon which monkeys to see ! As feeding all around the same time . We lost out !

Excellent location for visting the Orang Utans, Sun bears and Rainforest discovery centre. The restaurant area they had, was very good food and drinks, although a little bit pricey. It had quite a range of selections and also the kitchen is opened throughout the day so we could stop by anytime between our activities to get some food. Staff were all very nice and relaxed. They let us just lounge around the restaurant after checkout for a few hours waiting on our flight. One of the staff members guided us to a location where an orang utan was spotted right by our accomodation and let us use his binoculars. Amazing sight to see a mum and baby orang utan building a nest in the wild! Setting for the accomodation and facilities are all very picturesque.
Only very minor, Wifi is only available at the restaurant/lounge so if you don't have data then you will only have internet if you go there. Indoor shower which was the heated shower was also a bit tempremant in terms of getting warm water, but most of the time it was so hot outside that using the outdoor cold shower was fantastic!
