The hotel itself was lovely, such a nice place, and the staff were exceptionally helpful, sending us links to things to do and advice which was really appreciated. The rooms were quite compact but very clean and well laid out. We had access to a fridge and kitchen area, which was also helpful. The location of the hotel was a short walk from the centre and made it easy for us to get to and from the pick-up points for trips, and when going for food and drinks.

I'm personally quite a light sleeper so I really struggled to sleep here. The rooms, although absolutely lovely, are very close together and quite thin walls, so you could hear everything. The hotel has a no loud noises policy from 10pm - 10am but there was still a fair amount of general noise from other guests (one morning I was woken up at about 7am by an American speaking on her phone, in her room). I'd certainly recommend bringing earplugs if you can.

Room was clean, tidy, cosy. Very good shower with hot water. The quality of bed and mattress was great for a proper rest. Common areas where cosy and making a great atmosphere. The support of the Team was really great, from our early check-in when the room was ready, to our check out with the opportunity to store our baggage and to use the Casa Azabache's facilities for enjoying San Cristóbal de las Casas till the late afternoon. You can also book through them excursions for must visit areas in Chiapas, which is an additional option of services provided. The position in town is perfect and the price is very competitive referred to the level of services provided. Expect to pay by cash instead of using a card in order to save money from the extra charge paying by card. Casa Azabache is an amazing option if you are planning a visit in San Cristóbal de Las Casas and it is highly recommended.

What a cute spot! I was greeted by a very kind staff member and led to a really cozy and comfortable room. The kitchen was great for story supplies and having coffee, tea and water on-site was perfect. I spent a lot of my time here hanging out and reading in the hammocks. I liked having access to the hotel via WhatsApp for any questions/comments. I also liked how the rooms were decorated with local crafts. The internet worked well for me, but I wasn't using it for work so can't comment on how it'd hold up on zoom calls or the like. Also after a week of not having hot showers previously, was very appreciative of having hot water on demand! Lastly - always love a spot that has a book exchange set up, where I was able to swap a book out for another one in English. Oh - also was easy to get to from the bus terminal in town - quick taxi.

I don't really have complaints about this place, I enjoyed my stay!

nice cozy rooms, coffee for free, super fair price, chilled hammocks in the outside area. all in all great place

we did some laundry at noon time and hang them for drying in the outside area, then went for a nap. after 15 mins (both a sleep) a overmotivated staff member insisted to knock us awake to tell us that where our eclothes were hanging is smoking area and if there would be a guest who’d like to smoke there is no space… well, there was literally no one else than us at this time. for that getting knocked awake was really relly annoying an unnecessary

Everything! I have travelled a lot, but I had never seen such a perfect integration of hospitality, beautiful design, calm space, clean communal kitchen, great location, and constant help and support from the managers and employees. My room was very quiet and the bed super comfortable. I stayed for 8 nights to attend a dance training in San Cris and the room allowed me to recharge and do my morning studies in peace.

Nothing.

Super friendly staff! We booked 3 tours at the hotel and they were very helpful with everything. Also with organising the airport transfer for our out-bound flight. They waved us goodbye with a souvenir gift. Here is where I had my best sleep of my 1 month trip in mexico. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms are very dark when you turn of the lights so you can really get a good night's sleep. The quiet hours are from 10 pm to 10 am. We had a shared bathroom but everything was kept very clean. Close to the city center.

The hotel and courtyard garden werevincredibly charming and peaceful. The people at reception were not only very helpful, they went the extra length for us to enjoy our stay with recommendations and little attentions. The location was amazing, near the busiest parts of town while being in a calm street. Walking distance from bus station and major arteries, with cafés and food shops nearby. Truly a lovely place to stay that I will recommend to all my friends visiting San Cristobal.

everything was great

Beautifully decorated rooms and a really nice kitchen equipped with everything you need for a quick meal. The staff went above and beyond to help us when we had some issues with our hot water. We would definitely recommend staying here. It was also great that we had access to drinking water at all times.

On the description on booking.com it was not quite clear if it's a private kitchen or shared one but we didn't mind sharing one.

The BEST place we have stayed in Mexico in 4 weeks! Everything is pure perfection - location, staff, facilities, comfort of the bed, pressure of the shower, value for money. The list could go on. Cannot rate it highly enough. We extended our stay we loved it that much and only wish we could have stayed longer.

If I had to find one small thing would be the hammocks outside your room can be a little irritating if you want complete privacy, as people can see into your room. And whilst booking the tours through the hotel are good value for money, be warned that all tours are in Spanish, no English spoken!

Incredible hotel, one of the comfiest beds we have slept in on our trip, the room was black out too so we slept like logs after a long bus ride! The staff are so friendly and helpful, and there are several tours you can book through the hotel too. There is a communal kitchen, and free (very good) coffee available for guests

Kitchen hours were 10am to 10pm which is a bit awkward with breakfast, but there are plenty of delicious bakeries around!
