location was excellent, food and service were amazing as well. People commented on the construction going on during their stay, we had no issues with it whatsoever. It was actually not noticeable to us as we were out by the pool or in our room. The breakfast selection was great, with plenty of options for healthy, local cuisine, American or European options. We also enjoyed the different themed menus for dinner in the restaurant. For lunch, we liked the 24/7 option for sandwiches or salad. Our room was clean and although we didn't have a blanket on our bed the first night, housekeeping did bring extra up and was attentive during the rest of our stay. We were able to arrange our Covid tests at the hotel, which was very convenient for us and was emailed the results that same evening the night before our flight. They accept cash payments in pesos or US dollars. You can exchange money at the front desk as well. You are about 5-10 minute Uber drive to the Malecon and about 15-20 minute drive from the airport - all dependant on traffic.

Very clean, gorgeous sunset view, attentive staff. Some of the evening entertainment was really good for a resort (i.e. the dancers). The lunch menu is fantastic! We liked the Mirador restaurant much more than the Italian place. We were there for our honeymoon and just wanted to unwind, lounge by a pool, eat, and drink so it definitely served it’s purpose.

It’s still an all-inclusive resort at the end of the day and you get what you pay for, but I wish they would just be honest about the alcohol… they’re definitely not serving Don Julio or any top shelf spirits (unless they’re diluted beyond recognition) no matter what they claim. Also they could really use some fresh juices, or at least just orange. All that they have are sugary, syrupy concentrates.

We loved the staff! They made us feel so welcome and cared for. The place is small and intimate, which is nice because you run into the same staff and guests throughout your stay. The food was tasty and varied, though we definitely hit the town to taste the local fare as well. The buffet nights were wonderful! Not a party place, but a sweet resort to relax at and come home to after partying in town. Beautiful rooms and gorgeous sunsets. We had a lovely time!

One thing to note is that the construction was paused for the week we were there, so it might have been not so wonderful if we'd heard jackhammering all day, unsure.

Everything at Sunset Plaza was fantastic! The food, the location, the staff... This was our first stay at an all-inclusive resort and it exceeded our expectations. It was also great because there was no wait time for anything! Plus all the staff were so friendly and accommodating. We went to their main restaurant (the one that doesn't need a reservation) for every single meal and we were pleased with the quality and variety. We went here for our honeymoon and it was the perfect way to relax after a crazy week prior. We definitely didn't want to leave!

Food was top notch. Amazing food service especially Victor. Excellent staff. Always willing and go out of their way to make sure you’re taken care of. I did hear a lot of complaints about the reconstruction noise, but we stayed for 7 days and no noise or construction. Downtown only 10 minutes away by taxi or Uber. Love the tennis courts! Great beach! Will stay again.

Only complaint is wish they had more choices for room service after dinner since my have hungry boys. Other than that it was an amazing experience.

The highlight is definitively the service and attention of the staff! The bar tenders at the swimming pool area, the waitress from the mirador restaurant & pool area; as well as the entertainment staff; ALL of them delivered a WOW factor to our vacation time. We felt at all times taking care of and being pampered. The food, beverages and attention is quick, very good quality and with a smile. Food-wise the Italian snack bar Piccolo Allegro is the best and has the best pizza I have had in my life!!

The bar tenders at the swimming pool are facing towards the sun the whole day is evident they have the sun in their faces 8 hours at 32 degrees a parasol/sunscreen for them is needed. They do a huge effort to maintain the smile and good service under this conditions but you can see their struggle (even dehydration). Attention and taking care of guests is important but taking care of your own staff and secure their well being is equally important. I hope the hotel management takes action on this. Food-wise the restaurant Luciano was my least favorite food was not as good as in all other restaurants, could be definitively better.

All was great. Staff was great. A couple shout out to Miguel. Food was above average. Pool facilities overlooked the ocean and smart to have one of the pools. As adult only. Value, considering it was an all inclusive, was supberb

Only issue was the noise from the construction of the new tower. The noise was loud and constant during the day.

The hotel staff, most notably the foodservice staff, were fantastic. The property is exceptionally clean and maintained. The food itself was well prepared and the variety of cuisine was really good.

I didn't at all appreciate that immediately upon arrival we were handed off to time-share vacation sales staff. One of the time-share staff actually called herself "a concierge" and when assisting us with vacation add-ons (snorkeling tour etc) she did not reveal that the activities meet up was a time share pitch.

We had the one bedroom suite, all-inclusive plan, on the 10th floor. It was nice & spacious! It had a full kitchen and 2 bathrooms. Everything was clean. The view from the balcony was amazing! The pools & hot tubs were nice. The staff was amazing! Everyone from the front-door guys, to the wait staff, to the maid services were great! We took extra cash so we could tip after each meal and leave something for the other staff members. It was very appreciated. They do different meal options each night. Most of the food was pretty good. We loved the Spanish food night and the Mexican fiesta. If you want to eat at the Italian restaurant, you need to make reservations through the concierge.

They are building a new tower right next to the resort. On weekdays it is very noisy. We didn’t like to be outdoors because it was so loud. Also, the people selling excursions are pretty pushy. They aren’t selling time-shares, but they are selling future visits to the property. We had to tell them we weren’t interested multiple times, & then just try not to make eye contact when we walked through the lobby. If you are looking for discount tickets, they can set you up with a 90-minute presentation and cheaper tickets for activities. We just weren’t interested as we had already booked our excursions online.
